The Relay for Life Fundraiser last year brought in the most funds of any the county has ever held. Adam Wilkerson, Jesse Harvill, and Caleb Poston, now known as the Backwoods Boys, put on a benefit concert at the event that drew a huge crowd with the help of their manager, Sarah Moody. Other class of 2017 members who made the event happen were Chloe’ Agar, Taylor Clayton, Christian Swift, Bailey Dickerson, Nicole Dietrich, Hillary Hunt, and Roni Davis. The concert, along with many other games and festivities, were able to raise upwards of 2.3 million dollars for the Hardin County Relay for Life. Uncle Sam made up the fourth week, as Madison discussed our classmates who joined the military after high school. David Brewer, Reed Blackwelder, Kaden Anderson, Alexis Burd, and Justin Mullins are all active service members of the Army, Hayden White, William Breedlove, Barbara McGee, …show more content…
and Dylan Todd all joined the Marine Corps, and Dustin Benson, Spencer Thrasher, Quinten Youpee, Jaime Campbell, Charlie Carroll, and Ashley Shands took on the Navy. Rafael Tran and Noah Hulen spent some time overseas during their Airforce career, but were sent home when Rafael ran a red light on the runway and Noah followed him without checking up. They now work as crop dusters on Kaylie Jerrold’s plantation in Burnt Church. She also hired Robbie Wright and Justin Brown from the carpentry class at school to build the plantation home with columns she always dreamed of. It made the United States Top 50 Homes last year. Fame was the topic of the fourth installation of the special. Several of my classmates have made the big screen and many of them took the music business by storm. I think the most impressive for me would have to be T.J Blount becoming the most attractive man alive and holding the title for the past 5 years and Katie Boutwell, who holds the title of the World’s Most Beautiful Woman. She has become a great role model for many girls around the world. Tony Perry became a multimillionaire after his short career as a stunt double. He was a double for some huge actors including Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling, and Ryan Smotherman. His career came to a sudden halt after an incident on the set of the live action rendition of Frozen. Turns out that reindeer actually aren’t better than people… Luckily Abby Magness was there to reattach his leg. Harmony Barnett and Romee Tacker also became big names in Hollywood. They attended cosmetology school after graduating and both followed very successful careers in the beauty industry. Romee became the personal hair stylist for the Kardashian family. She lives in a penthouse in Valencia. Harmony is now a special effects makeup artist. She won the show Face-Off, which has landed her a job with the cast of Star Wars. William Hurt decided to go on The Bachelor in 2025. His season is still the most popular (and violent) one they have ever aired. Will described his experience on the show as “traumatic.” His final two choices, Haley Brewer and some ditsy blonde from Connecticut, wound up getting into a fist fight at the rose ceremony which resulted in a broken nose, a chipped tooth, and a bald patch. Will really should have just let the ladies fight. Matthew Williamson began the famous band, Green Houses, with Richard Tichnor and Dylan Hillier.
They have had 8 top ten hits in their four years. Their hit, “Don’t Take my Taco,” has held the number one position on the charts sense it was released back in 2033. It is said to “empower,” people and also make them extremely hungry. Hazen Perry also hit the top music charts when she began her full time singing career back in 2030. She has had many number one hits, some of them being Meow, Light Pony, Tied to the Tune, Warm n Cool, and Climb. Her most recent album, Dream of a Teenager, went platinum. She credits her success to her management crew, Melanie Martin and Lauren Pickett, and her body guards, Drelynn Dixon and Trey Bridges. Halie Clanton and Lilli Williams now star in a reality tv show. The show follows their lives, much like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but they have involved a twist. The two became daredevils after high school so it follows their lives as well as their adventures with their stunt partners Bryan Austin and Justice Cherry. The show airs at 6pm every Thursday
evening. Politics took over the fifth week as Madison covered everyone who had gone into a political position. There were plenty of class of 17 students who went into local positions. Jesse Brooks became the mayor of Savannah. He has held the office for 3 years. Many students went outside of our town to take positions in office. Anthony Oakley followed his career as the class president all the way to the White House. He won the 2032 presidential election with his running mate, Molly Willoughby, and they were reelected in 2036. Last year, they formed an agreement with Logan Graves, who started his now extremely famous Graves Graphic Designs, to make the very first holographic military communications system. It is planned to be released to the general public within the next 3 years. Austin Davison gathered a group of Hardin Counties finest farmers and they headed to Idaho. With the help of Kennedy Wilkes and Chevy Williams, he started the finest potato farm the world has ever seen. With his striking resemblance to a spud, Austin was soon elected governor. Unfortunately, he was impeached following the Idaho Potato Famine. lives, so the last week featured those individuals. They are the people who are shaping the future of our town. Many students returned back to HCHS to teach the future of Hardin County. Makayla Roach and Madison Murphy joined the English department after their college years. They started a Grammar club in the school which travels the state to compete in competitions. Last year, they won the Future of Grammar- Tennessee State Competition. Their star student, Kenlee Stanfill’s daughter, will compete in the national competition next month. Tanner Gallik now teaches chemistry of HCHS. Last week, her class, including the children of Mary Katelyn Davis, Aly Gray, Cailin Stricklin, and Yasmin Wright, managed to blow up a car in the school parking lot. It caused a bit of chaos, but DJ Talley and Dakota Smith, of the Hardin County Fire Department, were able to keep the flames under control so no major damage was caused. Logan Murphy is now the Sherriff of Hardin County. He, along with deputies Will Browder and Nathan Rose, have been able to eradicate most of the crime in the county. Shelly Smith, now a writer for The Courier, did a great article over the crime stoppers in a recent edition. Devin Zandi became the owner of the Savannah Theatre three years ago. In this time, he has turned the theatre into an orchestra house where he has gathered former Pride members William Holland, AJ Dixon, Allan Hollin, Emily Harris, and more from younger groups to create the finest orchestra in Tennessee. He also hosts an opera every Friday in which Patience Goodlow and Ben Fair sing.
Puck and Natty It all began with an interracial rap group called Puck & Natty. One half of this group was Berkley graduate Stephan Jenkins. Together, this duo's fifteen minutes of fame came on the 90210 soundtack, which gave Jenkins enough to buy groceries. The group eventually split, and Jenkins was on his way.
In terms of music, Demi Lovato has made an impact in the music industry. In 2017, she was ranked the #8 Top Female Artist (“Top Artists Female...”). Organ sales and donation are a controversial topic that many individuals cannot seem to agree upon. However, if someone close; a family member, friend, or someone important in life needed a transplant, would that mindset change? There are over one hundred and nineteen thousand men, women, and children currently waiting on the transplant list, and twenty-two of them die each day waiting for a transplant (Organ, 2015). The numbers do not lie. Something needs to be done to ensure a second chance at life for these individuals. Unfortunately, organ sales are illegal per federal law and deemed immoral. Why is it the government’s choice what individuals do with their own body? Organ sales can be considered an ethical practice when all sides of the story are examined. There are a few meanings to the word ethical in this situation; first, it would boost the supply for the
It seems that everyone’s father is going off to join the militia. Mine left to join just a few days ago. John and Timmy begged him to let them come, but Father refused, telling them, “You’re too young. Maybe in a few years, if we haven’t won yet.” It was awful, seeing him go and not knowing if he would return. I miss him already, but Mother says he’ll be all right. I’m not sure if I believe her or not. We have a lot more work to do at home now with Father gone. I don’t think the boys will be staying in school much longer. We need them more here. I personally dropped out of school several years ago.
Even though many dispute over the value and usefulness of treatment and care of terminally ill patients, the debate for the most useful care and pain reliever for these patients is the question that most patients, and their families, have to ask themselves daily. Wesley J. Smith suggests that Hospice care for patients with such a horrible illness is a beneficial program and that many patients need to utilize it. Smith also recommends that a valuable care option would be to “allow the terminally ill to enter hospice care without having to give up life-extending or curative treatments”. (Smith 3) With this statement, Smith demonstrates a way that these ill patients can be provided with treatment and also care for the patient’s quality of life.
A re-recording of ‘Help Me Rhonda’ became the group’s second No.1 hit. ‘California Girls’ almost became a No.1 but never did.
My 28th amendment is pro-life. Abortion is a big problem in life. The loses of human beings are going on everyday, non stop. There are approximately 125,000 abortions every day. And in a year it is estimated around 40-50 million abortions in the world. Abortion is murder because your killing your own child. They should be responsible for the outcome for what they did. It also prevents you from having mental health problems. You are saving a life with pro
Did you know that in the United States an abortion occurs every 25 seconds? This equates to 137 abortions per hour or 3,300 abortions every day, which is more that 1.3 million abortions every year! Abortion has always been a controversial topic and even more so since the 1973 Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court ruling. Most people have very strong opinions about abortion and inadvertently form their opinions without knowing all of the facts. Abortion should be abolished because it is killing innocent human beings, causes health risks in women, and defies the religious and ethical standards of our country.
Over years and years of constant, back-and-forth debate, there are many people who strongly support as well as many who strongly oppose abortion. Those who state that abortion should be legalized, a lot of the time, claim that it is the mother’s body so it then is her ultimate choice whether or not she should go through with aborting her unborn baby. In contrast, those who oppose the procedures and very idea of abortion claim it is inhumane, plain murder and that the mother can go through many consequences in undergoing the abortion procedures as well as other arguments. In an article I found off of the website Mic.com titled “Yes, I’m Pro-Abortion”, writer Lauren Rankin explains her position on the abortion controversy.
Some doctors would say that the fetus is only a potential human being, John M. Swomley stated “because the fetus feels no pain, a function of the brain as yet undeveloped”, therefore no harm is being done towards the fetus. Many advocates would agree towards doctor Swomley’s statement compared to Christianity Today stating “ It is violence against children, a hideous act of poisoning or dismembering tiny bodies, then dumping them in a landfill or garbage disposal”. The biggest benefit of abortions are that the number of unwanted children are decreasing, with doctors philosophy of having good medical abortions that protect health and fertility, make abortions possible. This has been a tremendous achievement in individual health, helping women gain more dignity, therefore making our society more “responsible”. A woman’s choice allows them to become more empowered, it liberates them, and benefits their society even more.
Bone marrow is a soft substance found on the interior of bones where blood cells are produced (NIH). Bone marrow transplants have become an advanced procedure in today’s medical field, and are an important instrument in saving the lives of many people. However, the number of willing donation is dwindling, matches are less likely to donate, so many people go without the life saving transplants they need. To turn this effect around there has been suggestion of compensation for stranger-patient bone marrow matches. The reality of the current situation is that with the incentive of compensation, matches will be more likely to donate, and more lives will be saved. So to put is simply, bone marrow donors should be compensated.

What makes a good person good? According to WikiHow, "We should learn to define our own morals ourselves. One of the simplest ways to do so is to love others, and treat them as you would like to be treated. Try to think of others before yourself. Even doing small things daily will greatly enrich and improve your life, and the lives of others around you." This quote shows us what we need to do in order to be what society thinks as, “good". In order to be a good person, you have to do good and moral things in your society consistently. However people might think that by doing one good thing once in a while will automatically make you a “good person”, but in reality it doesn’t.
Does running/walking for cancer awareness actually benefit cancer research funding? In Reddit’s argument, people are confused by raising awareness from walking/running a 5k because only a little of the money earned goes to cancer research funding. He also feels like different Universities that does cancer research raises tuition for college students and also several pharmaceutical companies and corporation. My personal opinion on walking/running a 5k is it’s not only to aware people on cancer but to bring people together with similar backgrounds, for example I know a lot of people who run/walk because they had someone in their life that has battled cancer. Finally, some people think walking for awareness is not beneficiary to helping cancer, it has a huge impact on the people who walk, like bringing people together with similar goals in effort to strengthen the community. Reddit’s argument is illogical because it’s lacking research on why a 5k walk/run isn’t beneficial to actual finding a cure for cancer.
The reaping is an annual event that takes place in every district before each hunger games.
