I have written many papers over the medical use of marijuana over the course of my high school, and college life. I have come to understand the ups, and downs of the system very clearly. Being a non-smoker my entire life, I would say my stance is very different from what some may think. I am a supporter of the legalization of medical marijuana. I take my stance on the fact that multiple studies, and people themselves are living proof that marijuana works. Although trying to make something like this legal is way out of the question. At least for a few more years I would say. Pharmaceutical companies are the biggest one against the movement. Why? By legalizing marijuana they are set to lose million of dollars in revenue. That was from the sales of medical marijuana, one most also take into considerations the taxes charged on the company that makes them, the employees of those companies, these are numbers that cant go unnoticed. Following up on jobs, which will also be a big factor if the medical marijuana is allowed. There’s not going to be one company that makes all the marijuana. There is going to be multiple companies in each state, it's a capitalist economy there is going to be an opposition for the profits. Everybody is in for a win here. Everyone except the big guys that have millions of dollars invested in prescription drugs of course. That is no reason to stop millions of lives from being saved. This of course leads to a functionalism theory as the applications of essay have bean more functional than all the others. That leads me into the why we are so opposed to using non-traditional drugs.
