Every time I think about inventions and how they are used in everyday life and history, I think about gunpowder. I am not thinking about how it was created or discovered, but about the purpose of the invention. The world’s most famous use for the gunpowder is guns. There are multiple types, sizes and models of guns and almost all of them use gunpowder in it.
What bothers me at the most is that the gunpowder is also the main material of fireworks. I cannot tell if that is the case but imagine that: who discovered the gunpowder wanted it to make fireworks, not guns. who could live with itself knowing that his invention is being misused and out of it purpose?
The use had changed the world forever. The wars that happened after the use of it were
Left, right, Liberal, Conservative, Democratic, Republican. There are a lot of synonyms for the sides of our nation divided. Divided on many things: religion, political views, morals, etc.. For a nation that prides ourselves on extraordinary security and unity, it is quite ironic that so many issues can cause such distress and uproar within communities. One such issue is gun control. As a white male in a middle-lower class family that has never owned a gun, I may be somewhat biased. Objectively as I can, I am going to report the facts and more importantly, try to find the core issues at play.
One of the most important aspects behind a gun is the gun powder. Gun powder is an explosive powder that when ignited sets off a violent reaction. The discovery of gun powder or black powder is very ironic, the Chinese in the early 12th century were trying to make a potion for immortality and they discovered what would be one of the most deaths inductive creations known to man. Gun powder is very simple creation only three ingredients sulfur, potassium nitrate, and charcoal when ground and mixed these make gun powder. The original uses for this were in rockets to scare the invading army’s around the wall of china. Without this substance the world would be very different than it is today, war could possibly be fought with swords and bows rather than machine guns and sniper rifles.
The NRA argues that the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees individuals the right to own and carry guns. They are concerned that federal regulations will continue to increase until owning a handgun will be difficult to achieve, infringing on their Constitutional rights. They also argue that if law-abiding citizens have guns, they are safer from criminals, bringing crime rates down.
No one really knows who invented guns. Many countries make the claim that the first gun was created in their country. A good place to start with is gun powder which China has claims on that. The Chinese are believed to have been the first to create gun powder or also known as black powder. Gun powder is a mixture of sulfur, charcoal, and potassium nitrate. It burns rapidly, producing volumes of hot solids and gases which can be used as a propellant in firearms or as a pyrotechnic composition in fireworks. Once the people of Europe learned how black powder worked, it was not long for this knowledge was used in the advancement of creating a gun. The first recorded use of a firearm was in 1364.
I want to prevent would-be killers from having access to weapons of war. I want to stop them from teaching themselves to kill through video games. I want mental-health services to be more easily obtained. And I want to deny murderers the notoriety they seek. Our leaders must attack the entire problem--and if they do, I believe my fellow gun owners will have their back.(P. 10)
One who is for gun control would argue that due to the new types of weapons and technology that are being drowned in the twenty first century more laws are needed to better control it. Gun opponents would state that if certain laws that are already on the books are ineffective what effect would new enact law bring. . (Streissugth, Tom). Crime will always be apart of America that is why the individual need to be able self defend themselves. One major group that was against any type of gun control was the National Rifle Association; this group did not any laws that tried to prohibit gun rights to individuals. Today in the United States there has much debate over the countries current standing on Gun Control. Some Americans lean more towards supporting the bans, simply due to what people have seen with the mentally ill in the media today, these are often the indviduals who support restrictions that have been made on the purchasing of firearms. Others highly oppose gun control, standing firm by the belief that any form of suppression towards firearm ownership, is a clear violation of anyone 's constitutional rights. "In 1990, the Violence Policy Center announced that the debate must be switched from small handguns to large “assault rifles.” This led to states like California starting bans themselves on, "assault weapon magazines holding more than
Amongst the growing number of reports of school shootings in the United States, the question that continues to be asked remains a controversial issue that is heavily discussed. On one side of the argument are many gun owners, or gun activists, who insist that a looser gun control law is the solution, while on the other are the pro-gun control activists who call for a stricter law to help mitigate the increasing problem. Although people believe it would be safer if others were allowed to carry guns, concealed or otherwise, the truth is that a better gun control law would be more effective. While this is a controversial topic that leads people to develop strong opinions, it would serve well to get a sense of what people think about their stance on the issue as well as the defense and reasoning each side utilize and why in order to thoroughly disprove the former idea. Still a main component that fuels gun activist are concerns regarding constitutional rights but these concerns should not be where the topic focuses. There are also many doubts as to how effective gun control would be considering that quite a few fear that the lack of ease in owning

Advocates have struggled to come up with a solution to the ongoing debate of how to reduce gun violence and how not to infringe on the Second Amendment Americans are guaranteed by their Constitution the right to bear arms with good reason; laws seeking to control guns have been ineffective to the point where every citizen in every state should have the right to carry a concealed weapon.
trying to implement laws that will keep weapons out of the hands of every one.
Gun violence in America is a public health crisis, which needs to be recognized and changed by legislatures, and the voting American. As conscious Americans, we need to vote for changes to gun laws that would improve background checks nation-wide, make firearm registration mandatory, restrict the sale of assault weapons and weapon modifications that give the shooter military-grade fire power, and invest in gun-safe technology and safe firearms storage designs. This type of technology will help prevent criminally oriented people from accessing guns, and will help prevent the accidental deaths of many children by guns. This essay will explain the reforms needed to help ensure Americans can still exercise their 2nd amendment right of owning firearms, and preventing the unnecessary deaths of many Americans at the same time.

Anybody that has been affected by the shootings have been pushing Congress and state governments to force new sanctions on government. With the past three years, Congress has shot down all the laws despite the large amounts of public support. Adding more gun control isn’t going to stop the mass shootings from happening.
