The Climate Yes, Austin gets hot in the summer. It is Texas, after all. But there's usually a nice breeze blowing (especially near the lake), and there's not as much humidity as the coastal cities like Houston. The rest of the year is milder than many places in the country. Austin winters are moderate by most standards, with snow being a rarity. The Culture Austin has a rich culture that blends Mexican heritage, cowboy roots, state politicians, and a healthy dose of urban hip. "Keep Austin Weird" is the unofficial slogan, and you'll see it emblazoned on everything from bumper stickers to t-shirts. Austin takes great pride in being ... well, Austin. The Outdoors Like to go backpacking? Cycling? Canoeing? Water skiing? You can do all of that in a day around the Austin area. From the lakes to the trails, Austin has an outdoor scene that's hard to beat. …show more content…
The city boasts a vast array of musical venues offering everything from jazz to country to rock. Austin City Limits is filmed here, and there are musical festivals throughout the year. The Bats The Congress Avenue bridge in downtown Austin, Texas is home to North America's largest urban colony of Mexican free-tails bats. Experts estimate the colony includes some 1.5 million bats! The bats began immigrating en masse around 1980, and after a brief period of public fear, they've become another Austin institution. They even have their own statue right on Congress Avenue. People come from all around to see the bats pour out of the bridge at dusk. The Housing Costs There's a new program on HGTV called "What You Get for the Money." It compares housing costs from different cities to show what you get for the money. Austin is regularly featured on the show, because housing dollars go a long way here (at the time of this writing). For information on new homes in Austin, see the note at the end of this article. The Roads

Baseball is one of the world's greatest sports and is played almost everywhere in the world. It is also one of the most historic games. The main historic part of baseball deals with the ballparks, the cities, and the teams that have been around for such a long time. Then you have the one and only Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. Fenway Park is the longest standing and is still being used of all the Major League ballparks in the United States. Throughout the 100 years of Fenway Park's existence it has been built, named, burned down, rebuilt, and a whole lot of adding on to the ballpark.
In Pigeon Forge you have nice hot summers and cold snowy winters. It also rains allot, which is nice since I enjoy rainy weather. During the winters, the mountains surrounding Pigeon Forge are capped with snow and in the spring the snow melts and creates beautiful streams which run down the mountain into rivers. These are some of the most beautiful attractions in Pigeon Forge and one of my favorite things to go see when we vacation there. " Every season in Pigeon Forge is a beautiful work of art that only a perfect God could create."
Exchange Avenue in Fort Worth, Texas, is an interesting place to visit. You will learn a great deal about the history of Fort Worth and have fun in the process. There are always special events going on such as parades on Saint Patrick’s Day, Easter Egg Hunts, and photos with Santa. If you get a chance to visit Exchange Avenue, wear comfortable shoes and plan on making a day of it. There are plenty of attractions to keep you entertained for hours and many of them do not cost anything. You might even see me and my horse in a parade walking backwards. For some reason, she likes to watch the other horses and walk backwards.
In my final thought, yes, I do believe that there are other states that could become the new Texas capital, but I strongly believe that Austin was the right choice at the time of becoming the capital of Texas. This decision has brought benefits for all the Austinites.
Visitors can enjoy the best of city and country. All the cosmopolitan pleasures of a major metropolis are here: top hotels and resorts with spas and golf, restaurants that dish up fabulous cuisine from indigenous inspiration and from around the world, nightlife featuring live music and all kinds of entertainment, and beautiful parks for outdoor fun. There is so much that can be learned from the past. Especially from an event that was as catastrophic as this one. How does one person gain such a grip on so many people? How was he able to influence them to change their entire life’s to conform to what he wanted. Somehow he was able to get them to move to a completely new place and create a world all their (his) own. How does one person convince and force so many people that it was time for their life to end? How does he force them to kill themselves? So many questions that are still being answered to this day. There are plenty of movies and research done on this event but there is still a lot to learn.

Have you ever felt stuck? Wherever you are, it’s the absolute last place you want to be. In the book Into the Wild, Chris McCandless feels stuck just like the average everyday person may feel. Chris finds his escape plan to the situation and feels he will free himself by going off to the wild. I agree with the author that Chris McCandless wasn’t a crazy person, a sociopath, or an outcast because he got along with many people very well, but he did seem somewhat incompetent, even though he survived for quite some time.

Christmas Lights to See in San Antonio, Texas I would have to say San Antonio, Texas, is one of the best places to see really pretty Christmas lights. San Antonio has Christmas lights lit up throughout the Riverwalk from the day after Thanksgiving through January of the following year. At the Riverwalk in San Antonio, you can see Christmas lights dangling high up – from the tree branches, and almost down to the Riverwalk itself. They also have Christmas lights decorated along the little bridge, that goes over the Riverwalk.
It’s huge — like a meteor landed on Flatbush Avenue, someone hooked LED lights to it, installed a Starbucks, and designated it an arena.” (Browne, 2012). Not only did the city go all out with the stadium but they also invited Jay-Z to the stadium. ““Put your lights up, don’t be afraid. It’s just Brooklyn.”
When my parents and I were driving to Pensacola, we briefly stopped at a rest area and I noticed five gas guzzling trucks, each one spewing out its own unbearable share of heat and exhaust. Just standing behind the trucks provoked an indescribable sense of insecurity in me. This feeling came from the fact that I knew that these were just five of the hundreds of thousands of trucks in the world. If each driver had just turned off their trucks when they were there, they would be preventing unneeded carbon and pollution from building up in the atmosphere. If every driver in the world acted this way, then the harm we are currently doing to our planet would be dramatically decreased.
