Should We Build the Wall? The amount of dangerous drugs and gangs coming into the country is in substantial amounts and are not stopping! They won’t stop unless we do something about it. If we ban illegal immigration, illegalize sanctuary cities, and put more security on the Southern Border, then the United States will benefit in our economy and be safer without dangerous people and drugs in our country. People have been killed by acts of violence by one of the most dangerous gangs, MS-13. In 2016, six members of MS-13 killed two teenagers, Kayla Cuevas and Nisa Mickens (Valverde). This story was recognized at Trump’s State of the Union Address. This is just one of the many attacks MS-13 has commited. There are 10,000 MS-13 gang members
in the United States (Valverde). Most attacks from MS-13 are in sanctuary cities. Sanctuary cities are cities that allow illegal immigrants. MS-13 members have come from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador (Valverde). So, making this wall would protect people and not let other people have the same fate as the two teenagers who were murdered. Illegal immigrants are taking a portion of the jobs in the United States. It is illegal to hire an illegal immigrant under US law (Illegal). Business owners are doing it anyway. 8.5 million jobs were taken by illegal immigrants in 2016 (Illegal). People say that they are taking jobs that Americans don’t want. But, evidence says that there are illegal immigrants working in construction and many other things that some Americans want to be (Illegal). People say that drugs aren’t that bad for you. Some even say that they are good for you. They also they get to do whatever they want. One drug that is very popular and mainly comes from Mexico is Marijuana or its scientific name as Cannabis (Abuse). It was intended for medical purposes but was discovered with THC. THC kills people. THC is a chemical compound that makes you “high” (Abuse). When consumed, THC goes through the bloodstream and up to the brain and highly damages it (Abuse). Medical emergencies have increased with people taking marijuana. When people say cannabis relaxes you and gives you comfort, it doesn’t. It causes stress, fear, and other bad sign effects (Abuse). This is evidence that shows that marijuana is bad for humans and shows reason on why we need to prevent it from going over the border. This wall isn’t something to offend Mexico and make them look bad, it is something that will help Americans stay safe from dangerous things like drugs and dangerous gangs like MS-13. We will have healthier, safer people. We will have more job opportunities for people who don’t have much money to make a living and will also give places for homeless people to go work so they can have a nice warm home. We will be a safer and better nation. Just think of all the job opportunities freed up from people who were illegal immigrants and no dangers from dangerous gangs selling drugs and killing people. Our nation will be at its best yet.
Street gangs have been a part of the American culture for centuries. As a young child growing up in the 80’s on the North Side of Fort Worth, Texas I saw my fair share of gang activity and the violence associated with it. Little was I aware of a notorious and deadly gang that was transforming known as Mara Salvatrucha, also referred to as MS-13. What began as a street gang, MS-13 now has activity in much of the United States and according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is, “one of the most violent and rapidly growing transnational street gangs.” The people of America need to realize the great danger MS-13 possess.
At the start of September, Donald Trump terminated a program and in turn put fear into the hearts of nearly 800,000 people and their friends and family. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, was a program that was made to replace the DREAM Act (a policy that was not approved by Congress which would have created a path towards citizenship for “illegal” immigrants that came to the United States as children). DACA was put into effect in 2012 by former President Barack Obama through an executive order. This policy protects immigrants who, as children, were either illegally brought to the United States or were brought legally but then stayed past their visas’ expiration dates. DACA provides this specific group of immigrants with protection from deportation, a social security number, and a work permit; however, it is not a way of gaining legal status. Not only are the qualifications for eligibility specific and limiting, but the application process itself is expensive, extensive, long, and it has to be done every two years.
deporting lots if Hispanic that come to the United States to get the American dream . Because they left their home country to have a better life opportunity and to give their families a better life. Most of the people that come to the united states, they come from ‘Mexico and Central america’ Because their country have a bad economy and don 't have no jobs for the people that live there. Some of the people that are trying to come to the United States, its because of the "drug war" they are lost of innocent people and children dying for no reason .The government don 't do nothing to stop all that killing and kidnapping on their country. They are lots of corruption on the government of "Mexico and South America ' that the cartels are involved in the government. The people don 't feel safe no more in their own country . The ones that are more in danger are the women 's and children that are trying to cross the border .Because the women most of the time theyy get keidnappingnd get repaid by the coyotes the people that help them to cross the border or they get killed and the families don 't never get to know nothing about them .The childrenthat are trying to get the American dream they are in lots of danger when
Everyday over 11 million people battle with the fact that they can’t be legal in America. Hiding in the shadows, petrified of what might happen to them if they are caught trying to help their kids and families be successful in a safe home. Millions of undocumented immigrants are denied a “path to citizenship” due to immigration laws. These laws need to be altered and should allow these hurting families a chance to be legal. If these immigrants get deported, the United States is losing vital resources, they will fear losing their families, and since they are trying to get right by law, why not give them a chance? Furthermore undocumented immigrants are worthy to fight for, and this is why.
Undocumented immigrants are mostly in every country, the U.S maintains a high status of illegal or undocumented workers. Every country seems to think there is a problem and are trying to cut the number of undocumented immigrants or illegal workers. We seem to think, why is this happening? Are undocumented workers ruining the economy or supporting it, are they stealing jobs from Americans or just taking unappealing jobs? Undocumented workers are moving to the United States, seeking a better life and opportunities for themselves and their families. They live in a country where their unable to find work and eventually struggle. Some feel that undocumented/illegal immigrants shouldn’t be a major concern. They support this opinion by denying the major problems that result from the arrival of illegal immigrants into our country.
Most people say that migration of Mexicans to America is a big problem in our country. They say that every immigrant is bad and all they bring to America is drugs. Well that is not true because immigrants actually help this great country. Today we are going to focus on Mexican immigrants. We will talk about different views that people have on it. We will talk about what an immigrant really is. Also define how people think immigration is a problem, causes of why people migrate from one country to another, consequences, and ways we can deal with immigration.
I feel that we as the people of the United States of America, needs to have protection. Therefore, we need more advanced border control. Taller walls, and some kind of sensor to detect when the walls are being passed or overthrew it will send out an alert to the nearest patrol. Illegal immigrants take jobs away from legal Americans and citizens. Also illegal labor is cheaper so it lowers the pay scale for everyone in the area. It takes away from police recourses from people who aren't even supposed to be here. People that speak a different language other than English should have to learn our language. We should not have to learn theirs.
“The Mara Salvatrucha or MS - 13, is perhaps the most notorious street gang in the Western Hemisphere” (InSight Crime, “MS – 13). “MS - 13 started off in the barrios of Los Angles in the 1980s” (InSight Crime, “MS – 13). Today MS - 13's network extends clear down into Central America, Mexico, even in Canada.
Immigration has played a major role in the economy of the United States, creating both deficits and surpluses in the U.S. economy. Arguments have been made that immigration brings more negative effects to the United States economy than it does positive, whereas on the other hand, people claim that immigrants have taken a major weight of the economy of the U.S. and has even allowed the economy to make significant growths. Considering the fact that the total accountable population of the U.S. is said to be made up of approximately 13% of immigrants, many arguments have been made for and against the entrance of immigrants into the United States. Immigration has effects upon the work force, the living conditions, the poverty rates, and other contributing
The issue on illegal immigrants has been facing America over so many years “What is illegal immigration? This is the migration of foreigners to a country who are not legally eligible to migrate or extend their stay for more than a given period yet they refuse to leave. According to the United States Department of Home Security, people involved in illegal immigration are those non US residents who either crossed the borders without inspection or people who are given visas to stay for a while but instead of leaving, they overstay.” There is no reliable count of illegal immigration. Of course, people coming into the United States illegally are trying to avoid detection. The best indicator available is the number of people arrested
America is wasting it’s money and resources. It’s trying restrict something on which restrictions don’t have any effects: drugs. People who don’t use recreational drugs don’t do so because of the health risks; people who do use drugs would whether or not they are legal. The fact that they are illegal makes little difference. Nevertheless, $15,000,000,000 goes directly into drug prohibition every year, and has very little effect. Very much money is spent to pay police narcotics officers, fund the D.E.A., and house drug-offenders in prison. The prisons are full of drug-related criminals, and violent offenders go free earlier because of this. Which would you prefer walking the streets, a rapist, or a potsmoker?
While immigration for our country is good the ability to become a legal citizen has become insanely hard therefore leading immigrants to illegally cross our border, which negatively impacts our country.
What changes are there to make to this country’s flawed immigration policy to fix it? Immigration control is a growing problem in the United States. Illegal immigrants are coming into this country and taking advantage of Americans’ jobs without becoming a citizen first. The U.S. needs to reinforce its border security and implement a new guest worker program. If the government does not do this America could become overpopulated and the amount of jobs would decrease even more. On the other hand, telling the immigrants to leave, instead of trying to work with them, could make America seem hateful and unwelcoming to new people entering the country. The government does not want to come off as unwelcoming so that they can keep up their reputation around the world. The current laws and policies regarding the immigration policy are extremely flawed and need to be changed.
There’s over 2,000 miles of border along the Mexican border and the coastal areas, thousands of miles; there is no possible way to stop the importation of drugs into this country.
“Flight 208 to Los Angeles is now boarding. Section N you may now take your seats”. You looked down at your carry-on bag to make sure you have everything packed up, even though you took nothing out, and headed toward the flight attendant and handed her your ticket. As your walking through the tunnel, the sound of the planes jets put just enough pressure on your body, causing your pulse to increase. “Why are you nervous, you been on planes before”, you ask yourself. You shake your head and start to inhale and before you could finish getting your lungs to the maximum capacity they could hold, a man wearing a white shirt twice his size and jeans that also seemed
