When it comes to middle and high schools, they tend to start early, not generally knowing why the kids are tired. Only 15% of schools in America start at 8:30 or later, and it’s affecting schools across the country. Early school start times plague the students with low grades, sleep deprivation, and lower social skills. A solution to all of those factors would be to make the school start time later than 8:00. Middle school start times should be later because grades would be better, more time to wake up, and better social skills. They can’t just make a kid wake up and learn when they want to be asleep! One great reason why school should start later would be to give the kids time to wake up. If kids start school later they will improve mentally. Having a later start time causes less stress and less depression. If kids get their 10 hours of sleep it helps them not only not tired but they’re also more happy. At school I personally feel tired, and I start at 8:30 so 8:00 is still pretty early.

Some might argue that school's early start times are just fine because with later ones there's too many problems, such as transportation and after school circulars. However if all schools were to move around the start times later then nobody should have any trouble with busing. Along with extracurriculars, there shall be more time in the day to stay awake knowing you will have that equivalent amount of sleep. The future of students will deeply reflect upon the actions the schools make. If the school were to make the start time later, that would by far impact students to become better for everyone's future.
If the start times for schools changed to a later time, everybody would be happier. Most people like the sound of sleeping in on a school day. It would be good if kids got to sleep in before school. Lets say one night you get home late from a baseball game and you go to bed around 10:30, you'd have about 10 hours of sleep until you have to get up for school. Ten hours is really good for anybody who has a full day ahead of them.

All around the world, Teenage students are required to go to high school to prepare them for post secondary education or the workforce. This is a problem for parents’ work schedules since they most likely will not be able to see their kids in the morning which will leave students unsupervised when they get ready. This is also a problem for transportation since parents will not be able to take their kids to school which might cause traffic and more costs since bus schedules would change too. According to the Sleep Foundation, "If elementary students have the earliest start times, they may be waiting for the bus in the dark early mornings, or waiting at home alone after school." Later start times are thought to solve tardies and absences, but if students cannot get to school, it does not solve anything. A change in the school schedule will result in disorder in many people’s daily routines perhaps having to discard certain activities to fully adjust to the new schedule.
