Argumentative Essay: Radical Feminism And Gender Equality

There should not be a difference between what a man and what a woman can do whether it comes to jobs or even within a young age with toys or colors. “Feminism, especially radical feminism, has received its share of criticism for concentrating on women's issues only rather than gender equality”(Gender Equality) I believe that if women want equality it is not the view that they should see they outcast all of the equality that men deserve in the cases where it is not the same. Many women are feminist but they do not give a chance to also view the way men are not allowed to be more feminine. As well as women not being able to do things without society saying it is not what a women would do men are in the same problem with them not being able to

do what a women “should” do. Knowing this that men are in the same shoes as women are I believe it would help to actually get us to a point where both genders believe we have equal rights.
Things that differ between men and women are what we are “supposed” to follow and most people go along with that but in some cases we wonder why or how it was even created that men are meant to do some things and women others. An article “What It Means to Eat ‘Like a Man’ (Or Woman) it discusses how mean are meant to eat meat (heavy foods) to resemble that we are tough and viewed that eating meat is “manly”. Not only is there an expectation for men but for women to eat healthy or things more “feminine” such as a salad (lighter foods). The view in it is bizarre and might date back to cavemen that men are supposed to be hunters to get the meat and women to gather berries and fruits. Viewed now I believe this isn't correct to say women are not meant to enjoy meat and men aren't meant to eat salads with both being meals everyone should be able to eat without being judged.
People who focus more on gender equality is women for they have been not treated as equal since the early 1900’s. Being that it is gender equality means it applies to both male and female and not many male get into the subject that they are still viewed unequal in ways that we can not be like women. In the article “It's Your Issue Too” Emma Watson an actress who is well known for being in Harry Potter stated that this should not be a one sided fight that men should be more involved and fight for what is supposed to be gender equality. “Because to date, I’ve seen my father’s role as a parent being valued less by society despite my needing his presence as a child as much as my mother’s”, Emma says being that the mother is more seen as a caregiver will the husband is the one “meant” to be the one with the job to provide to the family. A father figure is not commonly thought of to be important in being valued but they are viewed as the one to teach their boy to play sports and to do manly things, but when it comes to a daughter they are more there just for protection.

The meaning of gender equality is to make both genders feel equal and not have one to be discouraged on what they do regardless of it's something “only females should do” or “ only males should do”.

The view for gender equality is more enforced by women and not by men which is a problem because it is meant for both genders not just one. The view that each gender should do something because it is right for them isn’t true and really was just added in some random point in time. Every person should be treated equal and not be judged on what they do or what they can and can’t do because it’s what’s right. Men and women shouldn’t be viewed as one masculine and the other feminine but what they do decide to
