The Trinity is a complex thought. Even though it gets complicated, to believe in one essence & nature being three persons it is the biggest truth. Discovering what each part of trinity means is and what it includes is where it first starts. The Father, Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit are all one but separate. I believe the Trinity is true but I also believe that the trinity is a true depiction of God. The reasoning behind my belief in the trinity and its depiction of God comes from scripture and experience. The Trinity explains not only each part of our Lord, but shows how mighty and powerful he truly is. The Trinity reveals throughput scripture, even starting in the Old Testament as early as Genesis. Even scholars think they have found ways to disband the idea of the Trinity. The scholars reasoning behind the Trinity being false is laid out in 3 diverse points. 1)God cannot be tempted, 2) God cannot die, and 3) God cannot be seen, each one of these very valid but wrong. For point one the article says, “God makes the laws and therefore it is impossible for God to sin or even be tempted to sin” I argue that if God made all laws the he has the authority to go against any law made. Point two which is God cannot die, God himself didn’t die, the Son he sent here died which essentially is God but also going back to the fact that the trinity is One godhead with 3 distinct divine beings. Point three is God cannot be seen. God again makes all limitations or bounds set in the natural world. Therefore, if he sets something he can be seen in any way he wants but also being hidden to his creation because he is the God of the universe and made all things and can bend his own boundaries if necessary. Immanence is defined as god being present with his creation and interacting with them. Immanence is literally proving that God came down in some form and interacted with his creation. It justifies the trinity being the true depiction God along with many other things because the Son – Jesus Christ interacted and showed the miraculous things of the Father when he was on earth and the holy spirit works in many ways in worship or even in simple things such as church
...nity. The Holy Spirit allows human beings to become closer to God, and the relationship between the Father and the Son. After writing about both the Trinity and Salvation, I have learned that they are immensely interconnected. The Trinity allows human beings to find Salvation. All in all, the Trinity is not three separate parts, but one part with three different essences.
The Bible never makes of the specific reference of the trinity, the Bible does talk about the divine existence of each of the three members of the Trinity, God (The Father), The Son (Jesus Christ), and the Spirit (The Holy Spirit). It is still a complex idea for me to understand fully but scripture does indeed tell of the work and existence of the trinity.
The Triune God What does it mean to say the one God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit? How is God best understood? How can the Church communicate this today? D14734
Nowadays, majority of Christians believe in Trinity, (God’s three forms of Father, Son, Holy Ghost). Christianity adopted the idea of Trinity until the Council of Nicea in 325 AD. Even now Christian Unitarian churches are there who do not admit Trinity. Distinguished Rationalist Unitarians entail thinkers like Ralph Waldo Emerson, Charles Dickens in literature, scientists like Isaac Newton, Frank Lloyd Wright in architecture and famous figures like Florence Nightingale in humanitarianism and
“The practice of baptism in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the second century propelled the development of the trinitarian theology” (LaDue 48). According to Collins, the trinity can be defined by three statements “1. There is only one true God. 2. This one true God exists as three distinct persons. 3. Each person is fully divine” (Collins 29-31). The three people that make up the trinity are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. First there is the Father. There are many Bible passages where God is referred to as the Father, this can be concluded because He alone created all things and His first human creation, Adam, was called the son of God. Jesus is God’s son and he was sent by his father, the Father, to offer humanity salvation from their sins. The “God of the Israelites reveals himself as a distinct, unique, superior deity who is always there. God’s being there is what defines him” (LaDue 14). The Israelites sometimes see the God Yahweh as an imitation of the trinity in the old testament, but they do not have distinct leveled personalities. Although God is distinct and unique, the idea that He is superior can be a false assumption as all the persons of the trinity have equal power and divinity. Another person of the trinity is the Holy Spirit. Yes, the Holy Spirit is a person. This is a common misconception of the
In Christianity one of their primary beliefs is the idea of a Triune God, which means the belief of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as one entity not three separate beings. This would result in God being indivisible and could not be divided into three different parts for an ...
Blackburn, a British academic philosopher believes that the existence of evil strongly suggests that there does not exist a god who is all good, all knowing and all powerful, I agree with Blackburn’s beliefs, that having negativity present causes there to be a close assurance that there is not an existent all positive and sain god. Blackburn begins to question the coexistence of evil while having an AAA god. An AAA god is known to be an all good, all knowing and all powerful god. A god that does, nor causes any harm to occur, one that knows exactly when everything will happen, and one that has all the power to prevent any and every positive or negative thing that occurs. These similar thoughts were the ones that roamed around through Blackburn’s
The Trinity is made up of God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This concept is what many Catholics believe in, but other worldwide religions believe in other beliefs. Out of all the three Divine Persons, “Jesus is the most qualified to bring the renewal of creation because it was through him that creation came into being” (Pohle February 7th). We as humans will have to face the consequences for actions that we have done in the past, present and future. Jesus has come into the world as a human to show his dignity and save us from sin; he was the world and of all creation. As we come to read more about Jesus we get to know Jesus more, we learn about what he did, how he did it and why he had to do these saving actions.
The doctrine of the Trinity, as seen in the Holy Bible, means that there is one God who eternally subsists as three distinct persons: the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Although they are stated differently, God is one in essence and three in person. If examined closer, one can see three important principles. One being, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are each distinct persons, the second is each Person is fully God, and the last is there is only one God. In the Bible for example, it speaks of the Father as God, Jesus as God, and the Holy Spirit as God. If one were to simply read these passages, it could seem to be somewhat contradictory. One could believe that these are three different ways to look at God, or maybe three different roles that God plays. However, the Bible also indicates that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all distinct persons. For example, since God sent his son Jesus into the world, as seen in the book of John, He cannot be the same person as the Son. Furthermore, after Jesus returned to God, the Father and the Son sent the Holy Spirit into...
INDTRODUCTION “Sex and Religion”? Those two don’t really go hand in hand,” commented a freshman student from UF. Like this student, numerous people around the world believe this misconception to be true. Whether people argue for or against the importance of gender in religion, more than just what goes on in the bedroom has been heating up lately. Many debates have sparked due to the negative connotation associated with sex when confronted about its position in religious cultures.
Religion is a major controversy in modern society. Some reach a final conclusion early on that there is no God or Supreme Being; instead they believe that there is life and then nothing more. Others have so much faith that they are actually willing to die for their religion. It could be viewed as drastic but it is also reality. As a soon to be missionary I see the benefits of religious views and the impact it has on people for their well being. For my religion, I am willing to serve two years of my life to teach other the joy of the gospel while sacrificing my time away from my friends and family. An apostle of my church once said "The most effective missionaries, member and full time, act out of love… If we lack this love for others we should pray for it." -Elder Dallin H. Oaks. This quote just reminds me of why I am so willing to want to go out and serve The Lord. I will do it because of his love for me. But not to be biased of my own personal religion, I want to show that believing in something and having faith is better than nothing. Atheists are people that have a belief that there is nothing more after this life to me would seem to have really nothing to live for believing that they are just here to die which is a sad message. So in this essay I would like to describe why religion is so important and such an amazing thing.
The belief in one God, monotheism is a common practice in today’s world for many religions but when God made his covenant with Abraham, monotheism was practically new and an unpracticed view in the world. Muslims, Christians, and Jews are three religions that have this common belief in monotheism. But while these three religions are monotheistic and have the same belief, each of these religions have essentially different views and ideas on what monotheism is and what it means to their religion.
In John 10:30 Jesus says; “I and the Father are One.” By this, He meant that He and God were the same. For example, God and the Son of God both created everything (1 Corinthians 8:6) (Morgan, 211–212). The Holy Spirit is also God too, as one can read in 1 John 5:7–8: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” This Holy Divinity is called the Trinity- a group of three, as One. “In the name of the Trinity the living God is revealed” (Robinson, 187) This Trinity is God, the Father, God, the Son, and God, the Holy Spirit. “The Triune God is an all-sufficient God, all-sufficient for Himself and all-sufficient for His people” (Robinson,
but Milton’s portrayal of the trinity does not show the oneness of God. He split God into the three different person with very little oneness between them. Multiple times in the epic God is talking to the Son and talking to him as though he was a separate entity. By splitting up God into three people he stretches out any agency or proactiveness that might’ve been found in .
I am a Christian and I believe in the Holy trinity: God, the Son, the Holy Spirit.
