The afterlife is something that no person can directly explain. Nobody can die and come back to tell us what it is truly like. The afterlife is forever an unknown mystery with many theories about what happens to us once we die. In The Egg, Andy Weir shows us what the afterlife may be like, that it is important to gain knowledge throughout each life in order to suggest that we are all reincarnated and are evolved into gods by living through each person. Reincarnation is one of the many theories and arguments people make to explain what happens to our souls once we die. In The Egg, a man dies and is brought before God, where he is told he will be reincarnated into another life. God explains to the man that he will too eventually mature into …show more content…
Which means he has been Abraham Lincoln and yet John Wilkes Booth too, he has even been Hitler and all the Jews he killed. Essentially, God made this universe and everything in it so the man can mature into a god. God says, “The meaning of life the reason I made this whole universe, is for you to mature” (Weir). God is showing the man that it is really only them two that truly exist. Even if the man does not remember this when he is born again, he will meet God and be explained all of this all over again once he dies again. God explains again, “ In this universe, theres just you and me” (Weir). This backs up the fact that the man is the only person that truly exists, because God wants him to be able to grow. God wants him to gain knowledge from each life, even if he cannot remember it. Because once he has the knowledge from every human life he will have enough knowledge to become a god and grow another man into a …show more content…
What’s the point of gaining knowledge when he does not even know that he has it? God explains to him that he does have knowledge from each life he just does not consciously remember it. The man has more knowledge from each life than he is aware of, with each life he takes a piece of it with him and grows from each experience. God says, “You have within you all knowledge and experiences of all your past lives. You just don't remember them right now” (Weir). God tries to make the man realize that each life has more of an impact than he thinks. Even if he does not remember each life, there is a part of each of them within him. Even if the man cannot remember direct experiences from each life, there is knowledge with him from each experience. All of these experiences are what gives the man more knowledge in order to grow into a

... also come to the conclusion that complete understanding is not only impossible but also undesirable. As a result, Jack agrees with Ellis Burden who reasons that “Separateness [from God] is identity,” and since only God knows everything, ignorance is a quality all humans share (Warren 659). It is ironic that the world seems clearer to Jack when he realizes that men are naturally ignorant than when he sought to understand everything. Jack’s progress lies in his ability to “distinguish the pursuit of knowledge from Complete Knowledge itself” (Wolf). Jack realizes that it is only human have the freedom to pursue knowledge, while the possession of Complete Knowledge destroys the purpose of life. Jack’s epiphanies occur at the expense of others, namely Judge Irwin, Willie, and Adam, but it is necessary for Jack to learn that freedom comes from the realization of truth.
Clearly, he sees the evils that he has suffered as part of a larger plan; furthermore, he attributes good fortune and punishment to the work of God and in my opinion, he sees God using him for a much greater purpose.
...fighting his feelings about not seeing Jesus. He feels that he is lying to God and himself by getting up and being saved even though he cannot see Jesus. Even though the reader knows that he truly is being saved from sin. He is doing something good for himself. Therefore, we can see that he truly does not understand the meaning of God. He is a child on the verge of adulthood. He has every right to be confused and misinterpret religion because he is learning. Religion is metaphorical and imaginative; it is what you believe it to be.
In the western world, a dominant belief is that after life, a person’s soul is sent to a place of eternal bliss, heaven, or a place of eternal damnation, hell. To Buddhists, this concept is not the norm. Buddhists believe that a person is reincarnated into another life form, either human or animal. What life form a person is reincarnated as is determined by the person’s karma. The concept of karma not only affects reincarnation, but also what path a person’s life takes. While much of the concept of karma is believable and comprehensible by a person of any denomination, some aspects are dependant upon a belief in reincarnation and that a person will eventually be punished for his sins or rewarded for his good deeds, whether in this life or the next. At the same time, in order to believe in how reincarnation works, a person must understand the idea of karma.
It is never easy to understand something as vast and intangible as death. We can use our logic to lay down a foundation as to what we think death is like, but the reality is that it is impossible to know what the state of nothingness is like; the only way we can know is by actually dying. But a dead person cannot really explain to others what it’s like being dead. For humans, knowing that death is inevitable but not what it is like terrifies us, and experiment with drugs, go to parties, waste our lives, devote ourselves to a religion in order to cope with the idea of mortality as portrayed in The Great Gatsby written by the American author, F. Scott Fitzgerald. We promise ourselves an afterlife of some sorts or reincarnation as another being
Now you've got this recurring role on Supernatural. That's right. I'm officially allowed to talk about it after all of this time. I told Danica that I had a third callback for the role.
Why do always assume what someone is from when we first hear about them? A lot of us end up assuming what someone looks like as well as what they might be like. We always do this and it just isn't right to do that. We do the exact same with Death. Though not everyone will do this, there are some who will. Death is not all that his name says, but were blind to see past that.
Death is the one great certainty in life. Some of us will die in ways out of our control, and most of us will be unaware of the moment of death itself. Still, death and dying well can be approached in a healthy way. Understanding that people differ in how they think about death and dying, and respecting those differences, can promote a peaceful death and a healthy manner of dying.
As humans we have a right to die because of we are tired of suffering and rights are being fought to choose the way we end our life if you are sick, a fear of death, and to think what a noble death may be. Living on this earth we all go through different types of pain and suffering that leads to how we deal with things later on in life. Majority of people that deal with heavy pain like diseases do not like suffering and do not want to feel the pain of the sickness anymore, so they fight for rights to die to choose their own death and how they want to die. For example, Brittany Maynard chose her own death because she was tired of the sickness she was going through. In the article Why the Right to Die Movement Needed Brittany Maynard it says
Spiritual Gifts One of the most polarizing topics coming out of the Pentecostal tradition that has gained interdenominational curiosity and critic is that of spiritual gifts. These gifts have become quite vexing in recent years as many have either utilized them for the growth of the universal church or critiqued them as work of evil. The purpose of this paper is to do an exegetical inquiry into the history, existence, and use of these gifts. The topic is one of great debate and quite frankly a greater amount of misunderstanding.

Should a patient have the right to ask for a physician’s help to end his or her life? This question has raised great controversy for many years. The legalization of physician assisted suicide or active euthanasia is a complex issue and both sides have strong arguments. Supporters of active euthanasia often argue that active euthanasia is a good death, painless, quick, and ultimately is the patient’s choice. While it is understandable, though heart-rending, why a patient that is in severe pain and suffering that is incurable would choose euthanasia, it still does not outweigh the potential negative effects that the legalization of euthanasia may have. Active euthanasia should not be legalized because
Suicide is the third leading cause of death among teens. (Hogarty 1) Suicide is a painful conversation to have because when you lose someone to suicide, it affects more than just that person. In Hamlet, both Hamlet and Ophelia are battling depression and discuss suicide in great lengths. If people talk about suicide, it could be avoidable.
