Would someone rather be walking down a crowded hallway with three heavy textbooks or would someone like to walk down the same hallway with a lightweight tablet? Im sure the answer would be the second choice. Many people would choose tablets over the heavy textbooks, teachers have us read in school. These people that are making this choice are actually whole districts for their schools. The tablets are getting chose and picked from Google and Apple and have been helping children learn in different ways. There are many pros about tablets that schools should consider while choosing tablets over textbooks.Tablets should make an impact on schools because they are lighter, cheaper for schools and have up to date information compared to textbooks.

Tablets that are bought for schools or purchased by the families themselves would make a great impact in schools. Tablets would be better than textbooks because they are way lighter than them. With having heavy textbooks, students can have back and shoulder issues. When there is 3 or 4 or even more heavy textbooks in hand, the students can have issues by the time they graduate.

According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, from ages 5-18 in the 2011-2012 year there were more than 13,700 children that have been reported with backpack-related injuries. If a student has a tablet instead of many textbooks, students won’t have to carry a backpack or if they have one it will be lighter. The textbooks that we use or check out at school are really out of date. Some of the information we receive through these books are not even relevent anymore. Along with getting more up to date info, the tablets holds more books and information. That way the student doesn’t have to carry mulitple books at one time. The books and information the student gets, they can highlight, and mark and write on the book or the writing with their finger also. For example, some of the books that I have been using just this year are torn, the spins are half off and the pages are ripped out. This way using the new information on the tablets, the teachers or advisors don’t need to worry about fixing the 10 year old books.
