Imagine having superhuman powers like bending metal or making objects disappear. This superpower is telekinesis and these things have happened in real life. There have been multiple documented cases of telekinesis like PEAR, teleportation, and some of the many famous cases you may have heard of. Teleportation is an example of telekinesis that research has been recorded multiple times. There is a document called the “Teleportation Physics Study” created by Eric Davis which talks about cases of Teleportation with Telekinesis. The document talks about a case of telekinesis where a man “was able to cause a part of a vanadium carbide crystal to vanish… The crystal was encapsulated so it could not be touched” (MindEnergy 5). Another case in the document is where some gifted children were able to cause the apparent teleportation of small objects... from one location to another” (MindEnergy 6). There are different cases of teleportation with telekinesis, but teleportation telekinesis isn’t the only type. …show more content…
Scientist Robert D. Nelson used Random Event Generators, machines that generate random numbers in a random order, in a project called Global Consciousness Project where “human operators attempted to bias the output of a variety of mechanical, electronic, optical, acoustical, and fluid devices” (PEAR 2) They have done many trials even saying “Over the laboratory's 28-year history, thousands of such experiments, involving many millions of trials, were performed by several hundred operators.” (PEAR 2) There were many results like “the effects appeared to be operator-specific in their details and the results of given operators on widely different machines frequently tended to be similar in character and scale” (PEAR 3) PEAR is one example of Telekinesis, there are also many famous ones
Levitating beds, loss of memory for long periods of time, loss of bladder control, speaking in tongues, these are all symptoms known to be associated with possession. A possession is having control or owning (Farlex). When a person is possessed they have no control over their feelings or actions a majority of the time. The reason it is called a possession is because, when one is possessed, the spirit or demon has control over that person. The possession and exorcism of Roland Doe is one of the most documented possessions in history. Many still believe the case as fictional, but there is significant evidence of Doe’s possession.
It’s a Sunday afternoon and the whole family is over at grandmother’s house playing a fun game of pickup baseball until they realize they do not know how to hit a baseball. Luckily it is a rather simple process that can easily be taught and learned.
In the 1950s, Penfield tried to treat patients with epilepsy by using a mild electric stimulation to the brain. He thought the electric currents would trigger the cause of epilepsy allowing him to pinpoint and remove or destroy it. During his experimental surgery Penfield discovered that stimulation anywhere on the cerebral cortex could bring responses. He also discovered that
The discovery of hypnosis extends back centuries. As early as the 18th century, Franz Mesmer “was the first to propose a rational basis for the effects of hypnosis.” (Learn about the history of hypnosis - a fascinating subject!, n.d.) Through time, various scholars have contributed to the understanding and use of hypnotism. It remains today to be a widely-known technique though few actually understand how hypnotism works or how to induce it. Today, it is largely used for mental health reasons, however it is still sometimes used to aid a victim or witness in recalling details which may be critical to identifying the suspect.
By universal definition, "sport" is listed as "an activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively." Football, basketball, baseball, soccer and other primary activities have always been concretely defined as sports in society. However, one of the most physically demanding activities is constantly forgotten when it comes to the realm of sports- dance. Dance requires a tremendous amount of training and creates an aura of competition in which people compete to be the best, win, and take home the trophy- just like in traditionally accepted sports. These sports, however, do not possess an element of psychological health threats that some competitive dancers unfortunately must account for due to the emphasis placed on physical appearance.
Gymnastics is the physical activity that create and show quality, parity, and nimbleness performed on or with specific device. Cheerleading is one who drives the cheering of observers, as at a games challenge. On the off chance that you haven't saw yet, the definitions are totally distinctive. Gymnastics is the superior sport to cheerleading, which is not in any case considered a sport. Gymnastics is an overall better, including cost and the numerous advantages aerobatic offers.
Contact sports in America, like football and boxing, carry a rich history of the spirit of the game, and the feeling of victory. These games bring us together as we cry out and cheer for our team or fighter as they deliver the winning touchdown, or the knockout that brings them the undisputed champion belt. However, these players are facing injuries that can destroy their career and affect their brain for the rest of their lives. We shouldn’t outlaw contact sports, but we should force safety to become more important. If we want to keep our players safe and continue the tradition of the contact sports we enjoy as a country, then we must evolve our safety in sports, and change the way we view contact sports as a country.
Johnny soon discovered that the radiation had granted him incredible powers. He could melt bones with ease, and even move objects with his mind. At first, Johnny was hesitant to embrace his newfound abilities. But as time passed, he began to see the potential for power and control that they offered. And so, Johnny made the decision.
Physical therapy is always full of surprises, from new advancements in technology to new and improved therapeutic techniques. Although there are fun games and new technology that physical therapists can do with patients, the main struggle for physical therapists is to motivate their patients to complete their therapy exercises both in the clinic and in the outside world. This problem is very frustrating because the doctors who work at the clinic constantly push patients to complete their therapy so that they can heal; however, when patients are stubborn and reluctant to their treatment, yet constantly complain of pain, doctors must spend more time convincing them to do the therapy rather than completing the therapy itself.
This is probably not the preferred example but it's the best thing I can think of at the moment. In the television show The Flash, when Barry Allen gets the ability of super speed it is explained that the ability is due to being able to drastically change how fast his Central and Peripheral Nervous Systems operate. While controlling the speed of his nervous systems he can also drastically enhance his muscle operation system enabling him the travel at incredible speeds. In detail the rate of impulses going through the axon of his neurons are able to go a thousand times faster than the normal human being allowing him to view our world a thousand times faster than the normal human being. Now this has not been proven possible but in order to enhance
In all of these experiments, one person can only control the one subject by mental, So far the experiment has not been done by several person to control a subject such as control of robot movement for example control movements of a humanoid robot by several person or in a sensitive motion control of a robotic arm, for example, working with chemicals materials and other materials that are dangerous for humans by a few specialists or the control of a surgeon robot by thinking of the several surgeon to su...
Essay #3 Under the nose of America’s health industry, behind the backs of “big pharma”, people are turning to a special compound that stands out from the toxic, ineffective, and costly traditional treatment of serious ailments. Today people are using psilocybin as form of treatment because it is free, natural, safe, and effective in it’s application to battle and cure many serious illnesses and psychological disorders. In 1958 Albert Hoffman, the famous scientist to first isolate lysergic acid diethylamide or LSD, took on the feat of isolating psilocybin, a compound found in mushrooms ingested in spiritual rituals in Oaxaca, Mexico. There are over 200 mushrooms with the compound called psilocybin, 4-phosphoryloxy- N,N –dimethyltryptamine.,
The mind-body problem has captivated the minds of philosophers for centuries. The problem is how the body and mind can interact with each other if they are separate and distinct. One solution to the problem is to replace any mental term with a more accurate physical description. Eliminative Materialists take this idea to the extreme by stating that everything that is believed to be mental will someday be explained in terms of the physical world. One way that people try to prove Eliminative Materialism to be true is through technology.
Haptics is a recent enhancement to virtual environments allowing users to “touch” and feel the simulated objects with which they interact. Haptics is the science of touch. The word derives from the Greek haptikos meaning “being able to come into contact with”. The study of haptics emerged from advances in virtual reality. Virtual reality is a form of human-computer interaction (as opposed to keyboard, mouse and monitor) providing a virtual environment that one can explore through direct interaction with our senses. To be able to interact with an environment, there must be feedback. For example, the user should be able to touch a virtual object and feel a response from it. This type of feedback is called haptic feedback .In human-computer interaction; haptic feedback means both tactile and force feedback.
All synthetic phenomena have various aspects that may only be understood by a better understanding of the phenomenon itself. Here as the research journals of I.B.M. tell us – teleportation is the name given by science fiction writers to the feat of making an object or person disintegrate in one place while a perfect replica appears somewhere else. Dr. Samuel L. Braunstein of University of New Mexico gives us something simpler – teleportation is some kind of ‘disembodied’ transport. The actual process of this transport is not easy to understand for a person from our world. And that is precisely why I must make a fool of myself trying to make you understand it. After all I get my support...
