Pregnancy is continuing to be a typical occurrence with teenage girls. It is becoming more and more likely for girls to have children during their teen years, than it is for women who are above the age of 22. It is now the new normal to expect teen pregnancy before graduating among girls. MTV has even broadcasted a television show on the lives of teen moms and raising a child. Just like the television show on MTV, the reasons of why the media believes the situation of teen pregnancy should be brought to attention can be viewed in a variety ways. Social media stamps teen pregnancy as a negative choice of life even though it is commonly seen. The ad clearly believes that teen moms are twice as unlikely to provide their children with a promising future but, that is not entirely true. It is a no brainer that having a child below the age of 22 can be challenging but, it is a possibility that a teen mom can break the statistics. Society seems to forget that it was once normal to start having children as young as 13 years old. What is questionable is when having children at a young age was seen to be wrong? Now that the percentage of teen pregnancy is gaining more leverage it is about time for teen moms to overcome the doubt in their abilities. Instead of degrading teens who are expecting children, it is about time to uplift these expecting mothers. In uplifting these young girls, the next generation of future educators, leaders, and inventors will become stronger. Parents are the platform of every successful achievement and striving outcome of children worldwide. Once the media realizes that teen moms are vital, people can expect to see teen moms modeling for maternity clothing or even positively seen on the covers of magazines. Not only would a different view on teen pregnancy change the lives of the children, it will help the mothers gain maturity and pride.
