Today we live in the era of Social Media. Children are growing up surrounded by mobile devices and interactive social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, which have made the social media a vital aspect of their lives and it seems that they cannot live a day without posting something on the internet.
The other day I was in a park with the kids I take care of and I remembered hearing some moms discussing how their children are now being notified if their soccer practice or dance class is cancelled or modified by their coaches on the teams “twitter account”. They were surprised of this new form of communication and I started thinking about the use of social media in every single aspect of our lives.

Social networks are now also being used by most companies around the world, it’s a huge business tool to keep a company’s brand name and products on the market and reach a larger audience. It’s essential for a brand to have their own profiles in all kind of social networks, besides their main web page, because this is the way that costumers are discussing and sharing their thoughts about if a company is worth or not to spend money on it.
The most used network for business is Instagram, a recent study by Forrester Research found that Instagram users were 58 times more likely to like, comment, or share a brand’s post than Facebook users and 120 times more likely than Twitter users. Over time evolution becomes prominent in the world. The way that things where done in the past has become extinct. A prime example of this is the presidential election over the past two presidential terms. From the times of Nixon and john f Kennedy till potential future presidents Hillary Clinton and Donald trump. The use of social media and television has influenced potential younger voters through on going presidential election through hashtag slogans, presidential filters and news outlets.
This world as we know is heading towards a more virtual era, where everything we need to know is under the palm of our hands.
