Single motherhood is an exhausting experience for women. Women raising children without the support of a spouse puts all the weight of everyday life on their shoulders. Moreover, single mothers raise their children and tend to forget about themselves. The strength of a single mother is the need of the day to day delivery of food on the table, and a roof from the elements of life protecting her offspring. Consequently, the definition of a single mother is a woman raising children, working a full-time job, and being the emotional strength that supports her family.
The story of Hagar Abraham's slave gives us the idea biblically, the need for a husband to provide the food, shelter, and the disciplines of life for children and that single mothers

Many women struggle with the stereotype that they are dirty, unkept, dysfunctional, abusive, compulsive the list goes on. (Silva, Pg.90) There seems to be a negative attitude towards women raising children without a father well basically because there is no man present in her life to protect her like he would protect his wife. (Silva, Pg.90) Not all cultures in the world are much supportive of women in general, and to be true the women are not respected anyways single or married doesn't matter. What is beautiful about being a single mother within the church is Gods beauty. His arms are open to her gifted nature to love, and he is a God that produces talent. Throughout single mother difficulties, he can flourish within her life and show the quality of his life through her. Whitney explains, "when anyone receives salvation God gives them a gift." (Whitney, Pg.151) God's promises to protect and cover her will always be there for her. Moreover, just as she had been deserted, Christ was deserted. "It is not simply to be taken for granted that the Christian has the privilege to be living among other Christians. Jesus Christ lived in the midst of his enemies. At the end, all his disciples deserted him." (Bonhoeffer,
What is a single parent? Is it one who destroys their child’s life? Is it one who ultimately cannot raise a minor on their own? Or is it one who dedicates their lives to the well being of their kid? Imagine a parent, and for whatever reason they were left alone to raise a child. That parent you imagined has to work long hours just to put a meal on the table. That parent has to play the role of the mother and father. That parent has no financial support. Unfortunately, in our society, this image of a single parent is looked down upon. There are people that don’t realize how much a single parent goes through to give their child a better life.

...nder roles that lack this maternal instinct. Culturally fathers are perceived to be the “bread-winners” and be more involved in playing with children, whereas mothers are often involved in the daily care of children, such as feeding and bathing children. Although women are commonly the head of sole-parent families, the Ministry of Social Development state that there is a growing rate of sole-parent fathers accounting for 14% of all sole-parents with dependent children in 1986 rising to 17% in 2006 (2010). It is evident that single-mother parenting is different to single-father parenting; however the rising rate of single-fathers suggests that the stigma of gender roles in sole-parenting is on the rise towards equality.
Over years and years of constant, back-and-forth debate, there are many people who strongly support as well as many who strongly oppose abortion. Those who state that abortion should be legalized, a lot of the time, claim that it is the mother’s body so it then is her ultimate choice whether or not she should go through with aborting her unborn baby. In contrast, those who oppose the procedures and very idea of abortion claim it is inhumane, plain murder and that the mother can go through many consequences in undergoing the abortion procedures as well as other arguments. In an article I found off of the website Mic.com titled “Yes, I’m Pro-Abortion”, writer Lauren Rankin explains her position on the abortion controversy.
Imagine you were pregnant, When you gave birth to your child, the only maternity leave you received was a month’s worth of vacation and sick time. And when you went to return to work, you found your job no longer existed. Since your employer was a small company, it didn’t have to go by federal laws that require 12 weeks of job protection after birth. This story is fictional, but it is real for so many. In America, there is no federal mandated paid maternity leave and that is hurting our women and our children by causing the miracle of birth to be masked by the all too real cost of no paid maternity leave.
Imagine this, you have just found out you are pregnant and you’re far from ready to have a kid. You could be a teen, a victim of rape, a one night stand, it could be a multitude of reasons. You think to yourself, should I terminate this pregnancy to make my life easier? This is a question many women have with themselves or even a friend or family member. Abortion has been around for centuries, it even dates back to the BC era, but just recently during the 19th century abortion became a huge social and moral issue.
Society can influence one to change their appearance, lifestyle, and moral values. But with one person’s detailed research and in-depth analysis of a few major flaws occurring today, victims of society can have a voice in which they can scream sense back into our corrupt lifestyle in our crumbled society. By the time this essay has been read, about (number) (one child for every 2.6 seconds) innocent humans will have the opportunity of life snatched away from them in a brutal and excruciatingly painful way. Society has an amazing ability to create the impression that this process, a morally incorrect and physically harmful action, is not only acceptable but encouraged. This impression has placed enormous pressure on women who are faced with this option, and thus society must take the responsibility to unveil abortion for what it actually is, an act of murder.
One of the most controversial topic that everyone has been talking about is abortion. Many people have different opinions about this subject, rather if it is based on religion, cultural, or just people feeling that it is right or wrong. In this document you will find out how I and many philosophers feel about this topic and if I agree or disagree with anyone of them.
As a child growing up, there were times I would feel my mother would be out to just make
A single mother always sounds strong, positive, and loving; but it may not be the reality at all time. Pearl is a single mother who raises three children by herself. Her husband, Beck, leaves home for no reason and never comes back. Pearl collapses after Beck leaves. Under the condition, all three children have some kinds of issue that is caused by Pearl due to her lack of strength.
Since the very beginning of time, women had been put into a specific position where they could not simply escape. Especially religious attempts to “categorize” or match them into a certain classification has a long tradition. Elaine T. Lawless explains in her work that the biblical story
With the pre-abortion ultrasound bill in the process of being established, informed consent, cost, etc. it appears that there is a major infringement on a woman’s right to choose because there are many obstacles to go through before receiving an abortion.
“In Twenty-first Century America, there are two classes of human beings, one protected by constitutional law and the other not. Human beings fully protected by constitutional law are those individuals who have already been born, and are recognized in law as persons. The second group consists of the unborn, which can be defined as the unborn human being from the time of its creation, in or outside of the human body and encompasses all forms of its existence, growth, and development, including zygote, pre-embryo, embryo, and fetus. The law does not recognize these “humans” as persons. Judicial fiat institutionalizes this status of being “separate and unequal.” An unborn human being is doomed unless it is wanted and chosen by its mother to be born alive” (Lugosi 226). Besides a few circumstances, most abortions are morally wrong because they are equivalent to murder, deny the right to life, and brutal.
One of the most debated subjects throughout the world is abortion. Abortion is the premature termination of pregnancy by spontaneous or induced expulsion of a nonviable fetus from the uterus (Dictionary). In certain circumstances, abortion could be beneficial for the mother with factors such as: age, rape, financial stability, and complications that could long-term harm the potential mother and child. Women of all ages are entitled to their right to abort regardless of how morally right or wrong it may be. Some people believe abortion goes against their religious and cultural backgrounds. However, other people believe because it is the woman’s body they should be liable to do as they please. Whatever the situation
Single Parent Struggle For many years, children growing up in a single parent family have been viewed as different. Being raised by only one parent seems impossible to many yet over the decades it has become more prevalent. In today’s society many children have grown up to become emotionally stable and successful whether they had one or two parents to show them the rocky path that life bestows upon all human beings. The problem lies in the difference of children raised by single parents versus children raised by both a mother and a father.
