Jane Nelson is a former business woman and educator who serves as a Texas state senator for district 12. Before serving on the senate she served two terms on the State Board of Education (senate.gov). This history of business and education service shows in her commitment to Denton and Tarrant County. I did not vote for Jane Nelson previously, but I do plan on voting for her in 2020 because of her devotion to her district’s education system, business vitality, and overall health of her constituents.

A close call could have turned into tragedy, but this can be prevented with meaningful laws restricting improper use of unmanned aircraft. Luckily, legislation was introduced to restrict the use of drones over certain facilities and sports venues. HB 1424 is purposed to create a criminal offense for unruly drone behavior over prohibited areas. Jane Nelson voted in favor of this bill. If I was in her shoes I believe I would vote the same. This bill isn’t over-reaching. Instead, it is meant to place regulations and a criminal punishment to deter drone activity that could promote tragedy like the case in Denton. I find it respectable that Jane Nelson, 65 years old (wiki), finds the time to become educated on new technology and the possible negative effects it
