With the copious amounts of senseless tragedies occurring in the US, enforcing gun restrictions to increase the overall safety of the citizens is something Congress needs to stand behind. Throughout the past several years the security has been stripped from simple day trips to the movies, schools, nights clubs, or even a Sunday afternoon at church due to the spontaneous and inexplicable mass shootings. As an additive, there is incessant worry over the increasing and reoccurring terrorist attacks.
Allowing one hand gun and one shotgun per household fulfills the hunter’s need for killing game and supplies every home with an emergency protection in the case of an unexpected attack. This limits the number of guns produced and aims to remove them

from the hands of the corrupt and mentally ill citizens. In 2015, there was a mass shooting, which is defined as an incident injuring a minimum of 4 people in one occurrence, in over 100 metropolitan areas in the span of all 12 months. Lastly, allowing 2 guns in a home rather than none bestows a blanket of security onto innocent Americans. To much despair, it’s reported that under 10% of stolen firearms are recovered (Mascia, 15 Stories That tell the Story of Gun Violence This Year); henceforth, those whom are deranged enough to murder innocent strangers are devious enough to attain a weapon regardless of gun laws. In Pinellas County, Florida a stolen firearm was recovered at the crime scene of an Officer who was shot to death. Therefore, the allowed hand gun is impeccable for this mandate because it provides optimal defense with limited shots to prevent multiple deaths.
This restriction on guns allowed per household nationwide will help to inevitably prevent the undeserving slaughtering of citizens of America all the while providing attainable security against those who have and will always defy the law.
