What is Global Warming really and What are the effect? Global Warming is an increase in the earth’s atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution. According to S.M. Enzler MSc from the article History of greenhouse effect and global warming, Svante Arrhenius was a Swedish scientist that was the first to claim in 1896 that fossil fuel combustion may eventually result in enhanced global warming. Global Warming have gotten worse since the first record keeping in 1880. According to Peter M. Vitousek, he wrote in the article “Beyond Global Warming: Ecology and Global Change”, the increase of carbon dioxide is likely to have climatic consequences and certainly it has direct effects on biota in all Earth's terrestrial ecosystems. Some of the effects of global warming are rising seas, heat waves, storm surges, droughts, erratic and intense rainfall. Who is really to be blamed for global warming? Some people thinks that global warming is caused naturally but they are wrong. Global Warming is caused by human from all the carbon dioxide that they are putting in the atmosphere. Some of the other things that human do to cause warming are the use of hair products, driving their cars, and working in factories. Where will happen to this earth in the next 10? 100? 1000? year? Global Warming is deteriorating as time goes on and humans are the main cause of it and if we don’t do something to stop it we are endangering our future.
Global Warming is the phenomenon of increasing average air temperature near the surface of earth over the past one to two centuries. The record keeping of Global Warming began in 1880. According to the art...

...g. Human daily activities are causing the earth to warm and will continue to warm if we don’t do something to stop it. From the day that record keeping began, scientists have been able to track how bad global warming have gotten. There have been a lot of research done to prove that global warming is happening and who is the cause.Scientists have concluded that global warming has gotten worse over the past years and that human are the main cause of this and they are also the ones being affected also. There have been a lot of controversies surrounding global warming and it is clear that it is happening and is here today all we have to do is decide what to do about the situation and how will will solve this problem. Global Warming is deteriorating as time goes on and humans are the main cause of it and if we don’t do something to stop it we are endangering our future.
Global warming is an increase of carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane disrupting the earth’s ecosystem ultimately causing climate changes, this is just one of the tradeoffs of the modern life we live. Some doubt that global warming is a real issue despite the increasing natural disasters, freak weather and populations of species becoming extinct. Global warming is one of the challenges that we are facing today, it is much like the climate changes faced in the past but our climate is changing more rapidly. Wi...
Before a person can tackle handling the concept of global warming, they first must analyze the true definition of what it is. Climate change periodic modification of Earth’s climate brought about as a result of changes in the atmosphere as well as interactions between the atmosphere and various other geologic, chemical, biological, and geographic factors within the Earth 's system. (britannica) Since all 196 countries in the world have to share the oxygen and carbon dioxide, we all should take a part in the responsibility of taking care of earth. On November 6, 2012 President Obama said that we want our children to live in a world without the destructive power of a warming planet. The biggest challenge we face is not only saving a warming
The topic I choose is Global Warming. Global warming is a big issue on the earth. This is the issue that I am most worry about, because If we don’t do something right now, then is going to be too late. When I am in trips with my family there is always a place where people contaminate our environment and that make me feel bad. In the Amazons in Brazil, they have a very big deforestation issues. Claim; Although you only one person cannot, you can still help and participate in saving the rainforest for many reasons. They are killing thousands of trees everyday. Deforestation of the Amazon rainforest can be attributed to many different factors at local, national, and international levels. The rainforest is seen as a resource for cattle pasture,
Global warming and global climate change is the study of future increases of temperature across the globe. Studying climate change refers to how the over- all climate will change such as the dry places getting dryer and the wet places getting wetter. Global climate is dependent on “the greenhouse effect a natural process that helps regulate temperature” (Easterling and Karl). In the past few centuries humans have had a monumental effect on increasing of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Climate change is result of the increase amount of the greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere such as methane, carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and ozone. “Global temperature has rose approximately 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit over
Global climate change is a phenomenon widely accepted by the public in today’s society. A survey from Yale revealed that 63% of Americans believe that global warming is currently happening (Leiserowitz, 2013). And although the public has shown to misunderstand the scientific field, in the case of climate change, science supports their beliefs. Now, a majority of scientists accept that extreme changes are occurring in the world. Evidence is showing that worldwide climate change is real, and the consequences will cause adverse effects to all forms of life.
Global warming is the increase of the average global temperature in the Earth 's atmosphere. Man-Made global warming has been a topic f controversial issue for many decades now. There are many theories as to why there has beem such a drastic change in the Earth 's atmosphere throughout the years. Global warming is indeed a product of humanities ' careless activities. The theories presented have ignited many debates amongst scientists and the increase in temperature has been the fuel that has kept them going on for so long. According to multiple scientists, humans are the ones responsible for the alarming change in the Earth 's atmospheric temperature. These scientists also fear that human activity will result in long term consequential problems
Climate change is one of the most discussed topics of the twenty-first century. Although this subject is very often on the daily basis of lots of people, most of them do not know much about it. So let us define climate change. People think that climate change is the same thing as global warming. However, global warming only represents one aspect of climate that is temperature. Climate change is any significant change in temperature, precipitation, or a wind pattern that occur over several decades or longer.
The Earth is currently locked in perpetuating spiral of climate change. While the global climate has unarguably been changing since the dawn of it's manifestation, the once steadied ebb and flow of climate change has become increasingly more unpredictable. The risk of rising sea levels, and drought plaguing the fresh water supply, during the time that flooding and sporadic storm conditions turn once fully inhabited regions into uninhabitable death traps. Climate change catalyzed by human's increased production of carbon dioxide, is more noticeable than ever in our recorded history (United States, 2014 National Climate Assessment). Thankfully however, with the changing weather conditions due to carbon related emissions, the change in public opinion about their personalized influence on climate change is also increasing. Kevin Liptak Jethro Mullen, and Tom Cohen note that In reaction to the most recent governmental report on climate change, even the U.S. government believes that a stronger approach needs to be taken to correct our self-generated cataclysm.
For many years now climate change has been a hot topic all over the world. Every day the atmosphere is filled with new amounts of greenhouse gases, which affect the climate on earth. It has reached a point where some are starting to believe that we have crossed the point of no return. Is the planet heading for inevitable destruction and is there no chance of reversion?
Global warming is an ever growing problem faced by our society today. It seems too often that people think that global warming is only a myth, but I’m here to say it’s not. Global warming is a serious problem with serious effects on the world as a whole. Global warming is caused by air pollution; this type of pollution causes the release of greenhouse gasses. The way greenhouse gasses effects the environment is they turn the shorter radiation that is easily absorbed into the ozone layer into longer radiation. This change to longer radiation makes it harder to absorb causing the heat to get trapped between the ozone and the earth. Although, there’re some positive effects of global warming there’re far more negative effects of global warming on the world.
“Most of the last 10,000 years were warmer” “Sea level rise is decelerating” “CO2 is not increasing” “Scientists can't even predict weather” “We believe Al Gore deserves an ‘F’ in science and an ‘A’ in creative writing.” - Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (Republican of Washington) “-- Very proposal that has come out of this administration to deal with climate change involves hurting our economy and killing American jobs” - Congressman John Boehner (Republican of Ohio) “Animals and plants can adapt” “I do not believe that human activity is causing these dramatic changes to our climate the way these scientists are portraying it.” - Senator Marco Rubio (Republican of Florida) “What are we going to do about, at what cost?” - Senator John
Global warming has become on of the most controversial issues in the media today. While most of the Western world countries have generally accepted the premise that man's chemical emissions in the atmosphere can and are affected by the world’s climate patterns, in the United States, the issue has become so politicized with many republicans challenging the science behind the theory. Global warming is a greenhouse effect whereby gases are trapped on the earth’s surface causing it to heat up (Maslin 14). It is based on the worldwide temperature records that have been maintained by human beings through their activities since the 1880,s. In addition, global warming is not only caused by human activities only but also through climate changes in solar radiance. The problem is that, humans continue to contribute to the global warming phenomenon. All citizens should work in reducing human activities that cause global warming and also support the development of nuclear power. Scientists deem that, global warming is mainly caused by human activities which accelerate the natural process by creating greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Human activities have become a great contribution to the greenhouse effect and this means that climate changes are inevitable. They further argue that, if these activities continue and are not reduced, it will lead to more trapping of energy radiated from the earth and this will likely lead to extreme weather and global warming. Global warming should be at reduced levels or else, it will be catastrophic.
Throughout my childhood, I have heard the term global warming over and over again, but what does it actually mean? Global warming refers to the increase of the Earth's atmosphere, which stems from the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect, besides humans, is the main reason that our planet continues to heat up. Sunlight gets trapped within our atmosphere, and it treats our planet as if it were a greenhouse. The more sunlight that gets trapped within our atmosphere, the warmer Earth gets. If the atmosphere ceased to exist, the planet would be a lot cooler than it is; however, if the atmosphere did not exist, neither would we! I have always known the threat of global warming to be something that sounded life threatening and scary, but is it really?
The common definition of global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants (Global warming, Wikipedia). Moreover, the effects of global warming will bring ecological and social changes. Because there is no exact way to predict the effects of global warming, it is almost impossible to say how strong global warming will affect life in the future. Scientists blame the greenhouse gas effect in combination with societies greenhouse gas emissions for the rising temperature. The greenhouse effect is a process by which thermal radiation from a planetary surface is absorbed by atmospheric greenhouse gases, and is re-radiated in all directions. Since part of this re-radiation is emitted back towards the earth’s surface and the lower atmosphere, it results in an elevation of the average surface temperature above what it would be in the absence of the gases (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). Simply, global...
One of the most substantial problems in the world today is global warming. This gradual warming of the earth is in occurrence at an extremely slow rate but it is happening. Many scientists believe that as human’s work and release greenhouse gases into the earth’s atmosphere, it can become dangerous for the long lasting life of humans and our environment. “Unless we take immediate action, the impacts of global warming will continue to intensify, grow ever more costly and damaging, and increasingly affect the entire planet - including you, your community, and your family” (“Global Warming Impacts”). Everyone should be knowledgeable about global warming and the dangers that it brings to our planet. This essay will examine
