Do you know what is in the food that you are eating? Obesity is a huge topic in America. It is hurting our friends and loved ones. It is not something that you can catch but, is caused by lack of caring for your body. The children and parents should have a big say in what they eat. Fatty foods are not good for you. Some may say that its so appetizing but, those foods are hurting you. The main reason people eat such fat foods is because of the prices. Healthy foods can help you out in the long run with life expectancy. We depend way to much on the restaurants. From small to old we are all eating at fast food restaurants. When we could have a home cooked meal at home which could save you more money and give you a healthier lifestyle. Not all people can afford these healthier meals but, I suggest that the government helps out even more to help the lower-income neighborhoods and, give the money or needs necessary to be able to afford healthier meals. Not only must it start with what we are putting in our mouth but, in the physical area. Sponsors like NFL should do more with the Play 60 campaign to help the younger kids have opportunities to get outside and play. Helping build parks around neighborhoods with a lot of obese children or neighborhoods who have no way to stay healthy. Schools can also play a part in which they give their students edible and healthier meals. Feeding the students something they would actually like to eat. Schools can also help by making each student have physical education everyday that would give them their exercise everyday. The more the government puts into our youth the more they will get out. The way we are going now the obesity will continue rise until, it is not under control anymore and there is no solution. Parents have the biggest part in all of this. To protect our youth from obesity we should set examples, rules, and guidelines for health habits. One way we can start is eliminating fast foods to a minimum. If we hold our kids to eating fast foods to a limit this would fix the problem. We should also treat exercise like homework. Getting our kids at least sixty minutes a day. The problem starts at the household with various of things. There are a few solutions to the problems of rampant obesity, unchecked greed, and huge disparities in wealth. The first would be place more significance on education, by funding it with taxes, banning advertisement of unhealthy foods or fast food corporations, and teaching children to make healthy food choices. The second step would be to regulate the fast food industry as much as necessary, especially with respect to food safety and working conditions. A third step would be to stop subsidizing the fast food industry with agriculture subsidies and tax breaks, and allow business to compete fairly. Fast food chains on every block, more and more technology to make our lives easier, and high amount of stress are just a few factors to weight gain in our country. Only since obesity has become a national epidemic have fast food restaurants changed their ways. But we need to do more than just change the kind of oil the french fries are fried in. Better yet, why don't we remove, or intensely decrease the number of the unhealthy fast food chains, and spread more healthy fast food chains, such as Subway? Is it something government could take act in? Should the United States government take measures to fight the rise of obesity in the country, or are choices concerning diet and nutrition better left to the individuals, free of government interference?
