Why do not we see the electric cars as we see the common cars on the street? Electric cars is one of the new technology these days, and we need to be aware about it. Electric cars run partially on electricity. Unlike the normal vehicles, that uses gasoline or diesel-powered engine, the electric cars and trucks use an electric motors powered by electricity from batteries or Solar panels. However not all electric vehicles work the same way, but there are mechanical differences. A report by The Conversation (2017) said that changing from regular cars to electric cars is not as soon as it seems, even with the latest automotive news out of Europe. The report indicated that many institutions begin to phase out the production of cars that run solely
The Automotive, or electric car industry particularly, comprises all those companies and activities involved in the manufacture of electric motor vehicles (EV), including most components, such as engines, bodies and rechargeable batteries or another energy storage device. The industry’s principal products are passenger automobiles. Despite the fact that the first electric cars were produced in 1880s , the advances in internal combustion engines, especially the electric starter, soon diminished the relative advantages of the electric car and became the dominant design in the market. Due to this the EV was almost a forgotten industry staying in the early stage of development, conforming to less than 1% of the automotive stock
Electric Cars use the energy stored in a battery (or series of batteries) for vehicle propulsion. Electric motors provide a clean and safe alternative to the internal combustion engine. There are many pros and cons about electric cars. The electric vehicle is known to have faster acceleration. They produce no exhaust.
An unfortunate factor with gas powered cars is the abundance of issues and the cost of fixing them that goes along with it. Gas powered cars tend to have more issues because of all the gas we are putting in it. Putting in a bad or low grade of gas eventually does some harmful wear and tear to the inside of the vehicles engine and other important parks. Also, its very easy to put the wrong thing inside of your gas-powered car trying to save money and it end up having more harmful effects. Electric cars don’t have the same issues as gas powered; therefore, you don’t have to take them in near as much and if you do the problems aren’t near as harmful or long lasting.
It appeared on the moon, the three lunar rovers electric vehicles left behind by Apollo astronauts. This electric vehicle bought up a vision to the big three car companies. The electric vehicle 1 created by automaker General Motors in 1996, but it didn’t work out because of the car so expensive and low mileages. By the twenty-first century, Toyota released their new model-Prius in 1997. Toyota prius is a hybrid electric car power by a small engine and an electric battery. As science and technology develop, the motor company of Tesla introduced the new model of model s in 2010. According to Thomas Riggs (2016), the author of Electric Car, “The all-electric luxury sports car runs entirely on a battery-powered electric drive system, can last up to 200 miles (322 kilometers) on one charge, and can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour (0 to 97 kilometers per hour) in 3.7 seconds.” (p.153). This successful electric car built by Tesla has proved that a new age of electric car is coming.
Electric cars have dated as far back as 1880, with the first model being mass produced in the later 1880’s. At early stages of automobiles, there were no clear benefits from either type of engine. In fact, a majority of cars in use at the time were electric. Steam and combustion engines were less developed and not as popular. Before the 1900’s an electric car held the land speed record for motor vehicles. (Bellis, 2014) As roads were built and the range that vehicles would need to travel increased, the need for a longer lasting vehicle rose. This is why at the turn of the century the popularity of gasoline powered engines arose. Electric vehicles were still valued for their short term transportation (within cities) and relatively easy use, but they began to lose prevalence as developments into combustion rose. Production for electric cars peaked in 1912 (Bellis, 2014) and saw a drastic decline since
Throughout time gasoline fuel has been the major fuel used in order to power cars. Even today the majority of people who have cars they are typically gasoline powered cars. Although gasoline has been improved throughout time, the world today now needs alternatives to gasoline since it is hurting the world. The world is in need of an alternative that will help the environment. One major and successful alternative is the hybrid car.The creation of the hybrid car will greatly affect the world positively.
Currently electric vehicles are slowing becoming popular with some already on show room floors. Furthermore, there are many enthusiasts and groups that have really been pushing their use. Tough these cars do not share the same performance qualities of some gas-powered cars; the current technology has been rapidly catching up. Hybrid vehicles have offered in some ways the best of both worlds. The cars are environmentally friendly yet offer the power and distance capabilities of other cars on the market. Furthermore, there have been many ways of supplying electricity to the cars including home-rechargeable batteries and hydrogen power. Electric vehicles are a definite possibility for the future because they have the lowest emissions while driving.
Electric Cars Buying a car is usually going to be the first big purchase a person will make in their life. It is actually considered the second biggest purchase, right behind buying a house. Cars can now do things like park themselves and even drive themselves. Electric cars are also a thing that is getting a lot of attention, and studies show that they will be what dominate our streets and highways in the near future. Many people turn to electric cars because they are very efficient in our pockets.
Purchasing a car is one of the hugest or biggest accomplishments that a person can achieve on their own. However, what happens when that purchase turns out to also be the worst decision that was ever made? The purchase was a success and a goal was achieved, but the moment the key is turned and the engine is started the contribution to environmental harm begins. As the car is driven, the gasoline fumes that are released from the car contribute to the other many factors and pollutants that damage the environment. Not only is the purchase now a contributor to the depletion of clean air, but it could also play a part in the depletion of someone’s health. For example, asthma or bronchitis could develop in an adult or child as a direct result of breathing in noxious automotive fumes. Depending on where one lives, there could be strict regulations on air pollution. One must be accountable for any and all contributions made to the demise of what was once a healthy Earth. One must be accountable for his or her own carbon footprint. Some individuals have taken steps to reduce their carbon footprints and cause less harm to the environment by purchasing electric cars.
One of the coolest features that can be found in electric vehicles is found in the Tesla and its autopilot program. This system allows the vehicle to control itself in everyday driving conditions on freeways and normal streets, it allows the car to match traffic speeds, change lanes if it needs to, the transition from freeway to freeway, and this includes self-parking as well(@Teslamotors). This is a brand new feature as of 2016 in all Tesla vehicles, granted you're not going to see technology like that in all-electric vehicles you will see some variation of some of the features that clearly sets itself apart from normal cars. Also in the Tesla, the battery pack is built into the frame of the car which is very different from other electric vehicles because it allows for normal space in the cabin of the car(Bullis). This is important because in other electric vehicles the battery pack is much larger taking up more space, which causes a shortage of space in the car only
Now, what are electric vehicles really? Simply put, electric vehicles are vehicles that are powered by an electric motor instead of an internal combustion engine. Electric vehicles use electricity as the “fuel” instead of gasoline or some other combustible fuel. The electric motor in an electric vehicle converts electricity, usually from a battery pack, into mechanical power to turn the wheels. Major auto manufacturers are producing high-performance electric vehicles not only in the form of cars but also in a wide range of styles and sizes, including, mini-vans, sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks.
Scientists at OECD believe that by 2050 the planet’s air from pollution will be become the biggest cause of premature death if we don’t charge our habit of how we have been polluting the planet. In recent years solar and wind power has been getting cheaper and popular in the united states, which has helped keep our pollution down, but solar only produces %0.6 of the total needed power of the United States. Cars are also a contributor to the pollution problem, its estimated that “automotive emissions are responsible for anywhere between 50 to 90 percent of air pollution”. If the whole world stopped using gas cars and switched to electric, it would save over 50 percent in pollution and that’s even with every car getting 50MPG. Electric cars are the transportation of the future and people may be interested to know
Electric cars were recently introduced to the auto world. They are very fuel efficient while still having all the practicalities of a regular car. They are quiet and have zero emissions. They also are cheaper to maintain and cheaper to own then a gas powered car. Even though car enthusiasts dislike the idea of going fully electric, it is a very conscientious choice. Electric cars might seem like a useless form of transportation, but they offer features that help keep the Earth clean.
Electric cars are becoming increasingly more necessary, and have more advantages than disadvantages. Electric cars help to decrease the noise, pollution as they are much quieter. They do not emit any (or much less) carbon emission than petrol cars. Electric vehicles are the greenest mode of transport in the personal transportation industry. For each litre of fuel used in an engine produces more than 2.5kg of CO2. CO2 will be produced by an electric car but still a very little amount. It is also possible to use renewable power or a green energy supplier in the electric car. Thus it would lead to less polluted and safe working environment for all of us. However, safety is a big concern with using vehicles. The fluids in the batteries actually take impact better than a fully made gas car because it is not that flammable. Petrol cars and diesel cars are more flammable than electric cars so they are greater of taking impact in the event of an accident. I think that this is a very good reason because fewer people would get injured or hurt. This would save money because electricity is cheaper than gas and electric cars are easy to operate. Also is very ECO –friendly which mean that it is cheaper to run and have to pay very little road tax. In a pure electric vehicle there’s nothing combustible and have far fewer moving parts than you would find in a petrol or diesel car.
Over 100 years people have been relying on combustion fuel like oil and diesel to move their vehicles around. We are all depending on fuel for our vehicles but this will only cause problems over the years, especially since this types of fuels are limited and the reserves are running out. This is why many companies are starting to create many electric cars to meet our transportation needs. This alternate-fuel cars that are not only energy efficient but also help us in many other ways. There are many reasons why we should switch to electric cars but i’m only going to give 5 reasons that i think are the most important.
