Daylight Saving Time Just like all of Earth’s green, society too has found a simple way to use the sun to its fullest potential. Daylight Saving Time is a function that has allowed us to enjoy longer summer days simply by moving our clocks an hour ahead in the spring. This method had became something to consider since Ben Franklin idealized it. Of course it's not the same for everyone, depending on where you are may change when Daylight Saving Time occurs. Although some may say Daylight Saving Time is pointless, it is vital that DST has its benefits. Many opinions come along with Daylight Saving Time due to the possible consequences that result of it. DST is said to increase 3 times the risk of car accidents towards pedestrians (Douma). According to Michael Douma, “Recent research indicates that pedestrian fatalities from cars soar at 6:00pm during the weeks after clocks are set back in the fall.” However the early daylight in the winter helps the younger pedestrians like children and teens see their way to school in the mornings safely. DST is also to be said to bring health problems to society such as depression. The lack of daylight has put 8 percent of people in a sad state of mind as the sun sets early in the winter (Scudellari). This switch also is said to affect those with sleeping problems like …show more content…
This wasn't the DST method we know of today at the time but was a similar seasonal change. The actual Daylight Saving Time did not occur until a New Zealand scientist named George Hudson finally established the importance of this time change. This method became very useful during World War 1 (Douma). “DST was implemented in the US nationally on March 12, 1918 as a wartime effort to save hour’s worth of fuel each day to light lamps and heat homes” says Christopher Klein. Daylight Saving Time has been around for along time not only that but is used all around the
the usual folder. It determines the way we frame everything . . . the attitude

When I made my website it was very important to save things in organized folders most of the time I didn’t do this and I left a lot of important documents floating around at the bottom of my T10.slater drive thing and I couldn’t find them a lot of the time, this led to me losing important pieces of work and having to redo them.
Ben Hogan, a famous golfer, once said, “ the only thing a golfer needs is more daylight”. Daylight saving time not only impacts the world’s golf games, it also affects the economy, outdoor activities and comes with many health concerns.Daylight saving time(also know as DST) was used as a way to save energy and have more natural light in the summertime, but it was as affected and it also came with many consequences to the countries and states that still use this time. It was first used in the USA in 1918 and has been on and off for many years , but now DST is used seven months out of the year. There are two times during the year we change the clocks. The first Sunday in March, we “spring forward” with the clocks and the second Sunday in November we “fall back” one hour. However, daylight-saving time should be abolished from the rest of the world that uses this time throughout the year.

In The Time Machine by H.G. Wells, the Time Traveller first visits the year 802,701, where Wells begins to establish that humanity has split into two opposite and startling sub-species, the Eloi and the Morlocks, similar to “modern” humans. After his associations with the Eloi and finally outsmarting the Morlocks, the Time Traveller escapes millions of years into the future to a period devoid of human life, and once more after that to see the final devolution of man. With these experiences centuries into the future, it is clear Wells does not possess an optimistic outlook on his interpretations of the future, but rather one of regression. Wells’ idea that humanity is doomed to devolution and eventual extinction is shown through the
Global climate change is a phenomenon widely accepted by the public in today’s society. A survey from Yale revealed that 63% of Americans believe that global warming is currently happening (Leiserowitz, 2013). And although the public has shown to misunderstand the scientific field, in the case of climate change, science supports their beliefs. Now, a majority of scientists accept that extreme changes are occurring in the world. Evidence is showing that worldwide climate change is real, and the consequences will cause adverse effects to all forms of life.
Don't you hate waking up early for school in the morning? Most high school students wake up before the sun rises just to become ready for school. Teenage brains do not begin to function that early considering many are tired from staying up late the previous night. The National Sleep Foundation reported that most teens do not retain enough shuteye, one study found that only 15% reported sleeping eight 1/2 hours on school nights. That fact was extremely true for me when I attended high school. I barely was able to wake up, get dressed, and be in school on time since I was so tired. In my opinion school days should start later, precisely in between 9- 10 o'clock. If the school day started later attendance would improve, students will be more prepared, and student's attitudes and grades may improve.
The topic of climate change is frequently discussed, yet so widely misunderstood. The food you endorse, being meat and dairy products, are the leading factors to our world’s rapid decline. The meat and dairy industries are the main culprits of climate change. This is due to the buildup of greenhouse gas emissions, and an unsettling increase in atmospheric carbon levels. The longevity of our planet and species is more important than consuming meat and or dairy products for momentary pleasure.
I decided that I am voting for Dr. Jill Stein from the Green Party because I believe she has the most compelling argument regarding climate change in the United States. I will not be voting for Donald Trump, a Republican candidate, because his ideas are not plausible. I firmly believe climate change is an extreme threat that needs to be taken seriously. If we keep ignoring it and do not take the necessary actions needed, the environment is going to suffer. Trump has made claims before that this is a hoax, when there is clear scientific evidence saying that our planet is being abused. These aggressive statements and viewpoints are not ideal for a potential leader. If he does not care about something this crucial, what else is he going to ignore?
Climate change is one of the most discussed topics of the twenty-first century. Although this subject is very often on the daily basis of lots of people, most of them do not know much about it. So let us define climate change. People think that climate change is the same thing as global warming. However, global warming only represents one aspect of climate that is temperature. Climate change is any significant change in temperature, precipitation, or a wind pattern that occur over several decades or longer.
In the modern era, climate change is a variation of weather over a long period of time, and it is the most important and controversial global issue. It is arguable in different positions, especially on science, culture, and politics. These three fields all cause a lot of latent concerns. The science of climate change brings out several harmful phenomenon, such as global warming. With respect to the climate change, the culture of humanity may be changed because the changing climate is the most important key factor of forming today’s human societies. Instead, climate change is now a political issue, which will affect the public attitudes directly. In other words, it means the government tends to review and provide latest information in order to adapt and retard the climate change. Over a long period of time, climate change has been taking place because of human activities that affect the scientific, cultural, and political sides.
Global warming has become on of the most controversial issues in the media today. While most of the Western world countries have generally accepted the premise that man's chemical emissions in the atmosphere can and are affected by the world’s climate patterns, in the United States, the issue has become so politicized with many republicans challenging the science behind the theory. Global warming is a greenhouse effect whereby gases are trapped on the earth’s surface causing it to heat up (Maslin 14). It is based on the worldwide temperature records that have been maintained by human beings through their activities since the 1880,s. In addition, global warming is not only caused by human activities only but also through climate changes in solar radiance. The problem is that, humans continue to contribute to the global warming phenomenon. All citizens should work in reducing human activities that cause global warming and also support the development of nuclear power. Scientists deem that, global warming is mainly caused by human activities which accelerate the natural process by creating greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Human activities have become a great contribution to the greenhouse effect and this means that climate changes are inevitable. They further argue that, if these activities continue and are not reduced, it will lead to more trapping of energy radiated from the earth and this will likely lead to extreme weather and global warming. Global warming should be at reduced levels or else, it will be catastrophic.
Climate is usually defined as the "average weather" in a place. It includes patterns of temperature, precipitation (rain or snow), humidity, wind and seasons. Climate patterns play a fundamental role in shaping natural ecosystems, and the human economies and cultures that depend on them. But the climate we’ve come to expect is not what it used to be because the past is no longer a reliable predictor of the future. Our climate is rapidly changing with disruptive impacts, and that change is progressing faster than any seen in the last 2,000 years (ecy.wa.gov, 2017). Though the scientific evidence seems overwhelming in favor of climate change, there are those, for various reasons, who believe that climate change is a trick. This is disappointing, as the future of our planet is at stake, and the last thing we should do in this critical time is arguing whether or not our world is being destroyed. In order to enlighten those who believe climate change is not currently happening, I will present evidence that will show that climate change is real due to sea levels rising, frequent hurricanes and food and resource depletion. In turn, I will also answer the opposition.
Global Warming One of the most substantial problems in the world today is global warming. This gradual warming of the earth is in occurrence at an extremely slow rate but it is happening. Many scientists believe that as human’s work and release greenhouse gases into the earth’s atmosphere, it can become dangerous for the long lasting life of humans and our environment. “Unless we take immediate action, the impacts of global warming will continue to intensify, grow ever more costly and damaging, and increasingly affect the entire planet - including you, your community, and your family” (“Global Warming Impacts”).
