How much does a change in one degree Celsius feel to you? If the earth increased its average temperature as a whole by one degree Celsius, then the Midwest would go back to a worse state than the 1930's dust bowl, and part of the east coast would be underwater. You may ask, what can cause the climate of the earth to be one degree warmer. The answer is global climate change. Global climate change is not only real, but global climate change is also an increasing threat to the world as we know it. If we leave this threat untreated then global climate change could destroy life on earth.
What is climate change? Climate change is a change in the earth's climate. The climate, as defined by Merriam-Webster, is "The average course or condition of the weather at a place usually over a period of years as exhibited by temperature, wind velocity, and precipitation.", and global climate, as defined by NASA, "Is the average climate over the entire planet.” If the global climate increased in temperature by one degree Celsius then the earth would see disastrous results.
