If we want to talk about civil rights we need to know what does civil rights really means. Civil rights protect the individuals’ freedom. They ensure the freedom of speech, assembly and press, and the right to vote, but the most important the right of equality. In fact they protect from discrimination and make certain one’s facility to associate with the civil and political life of the nation. Malcolm X once said “I see America through the eyes of a victim. I don’t see any American dream. I see an American nightmare.” Are we still living on Malcolm X nightmare? We still live in a world with social conflicts for freedom, justice, and equality. –Martin Luther King Jr. on 28 August 1963, Washington D.C. He knew his children will grew, and had the access to be successful, but he was not sure about the social equality. Aside he fought for the civil rights, he was able to gathered more than 250,000 people, and made an historic march to the capital Washinton D.C. If Martin Luther King Jr. (Michael King), had used media to assemble people for these event, what would had happend? Probably peope around the world would have watched it online stream, or an ingenious hashtag would breaked records. Even though many years later people around the world have listened his exciting speech. Media has been part of many social movements, sometimes we do not know how far our post will go; people arround the world can have access to our timeline, they can read what we share. That is why everybody should use media as an educational way of communication, so media is not only a bunch of garbage.
