Argumentative essays are a great way to state your opinion through writing. If you have never written an argumentative essay you might be wondering what it is. Well an argumentative essay is exactly what is called it’s an essay where the writer argues in favor of a certain point and during the essay he uses many elements to convince his audience why he is right. A good argumentative essay is one that has contains six elements which are thesis, personal background, historical background, common ground, definition and arguments. The first part of any great argumentative essay is a great thesis. When you are writing the thesis you have to make sure it’s clear and argumentative. Your main purpose of this writing is to offer the reader another point of view and not necessarily to persuade him to change his opinion. For example, if you wanted someone to do something for you, you wouldn't start arguing with them instead you would use a more persuasive approach. Similarly, when you write the thesis think more about stating a clear but argumentative statement rather than a persuasive because if you are to persuasive then it becomes a persuasive essay. An example of a unfocused thesis statement would be “Oregon should provide money for companies to provide paid internships to teach people trade skills. Instead Oregon gives money to people to go to college.” As you can see this In the introduction is where you state the thesis and also introduce the issue and remember that your thesis has to be clear. You need a body paragraph and it'll contain your reason which is the topic sentence and your evidence. The evidence has to help you create a stronger argument so be clear and don't over explain. In your concluding sentence you can provide the reader with a solution to the issue by this moment the reader will have enough information provided for him to decide on his
