Many people wish to visit the frozen dessert at the bottom of our world, also known as Antarctica. However, this may come to an end. People believe that the cause of Antarctica melting is because of tourists. However, there are many arguments against this. The Antarctic is beginning to melt mainly because of the ships that leave many tons of emissions of carbon dioxide behind. Yet one study shows that the scientists that work on Antarctica cause more harm to the environment than tourists do. Tourists should also be able to see what their tax money is being put towards. Everybody who pays taxes has a small portion that goes towards the preservation of Antarctica. Taxpayers should be able to see what their money is being put towards. Besides this, tourists are able to spread awareness about how Antarctica’s environment is becoming warmer. Antarctica should be open to tourists who help spread awareness that the climate is becoming warmer, taxpayers are putting their money towards the conservation of this continent and there are many different ways to decrease the amount of pollution not only in Antarctica, but all across the world. …show more content…
The environment being destroyed is believed to happen because of the ships that tourists take to get to and Antarctica. However, it is also being destroyed because of certain studies that scientists conduct on the continent, along with humans creating pollution which eats away at the ozone layer. Solar powered objects that normally run on oil is a green way to help preserve the environment. Another green solution is hydro powered and wind powered objects. Unlike oil, these are renewable sources. They also do not create toxic emissions, or not nearly as much as oil does. With these changes, Antarctica can hopefully be preserved for a little bit longer and people of all ages and different eras can enjoy and experience its
Terra Nullius which is referred as “land belonging to no one” was an obstacle in order to achieve Native Title which is the right to land by the original inhabitants, as the Indigenous people had to prove that they were traditional owners of the land with an ongoing connection to it in order to claim native title, which was difficult as they had been forced off their land almost 200 years before. In order to achieve the native title, it had to be claimed by people with the ancestors that inhabited and associated with the land before the European settlement.
But there are more disadvantages than its advantages. Marine parks offer people to have a glance of the natural beauty of Australia. According to me, that is not at all natural. An animal can be best observed in its wild habitat. Most of the people would agree on this fact. Most people would agree on this matter. There is no need of gaining a little profit by pushing the growth of the society and the balance of the environment into a state of danger. Moreover, I also want to assert that we should feel the pain the captive animals go through. If we consider ethically, then it can be seen as an opposition to the basic level of humanity. I strongly agree with Daly and I think that the marine parks should be closed
I believe that killer whales held hostage, should be retired and allowed to live freely because of the unnatural punishment and torture that Seaworld is putting them through. There has been 151 cases of aggression between Orcas and their trainers. Also 100% of male Orcas in captivity have a collapsed fin compared to the 0.01% in the wild. In fact, every single mother within captivity has had its calf taken away around age 2. This isn't going to stop without your help. So, here are some more facts to convince you to SAS ( strike against Seaworld. )
711 million people a year sponsor the act of kidnapping, torture, and starvation around the world. If you’ve ever been to a zoo, aquarium or a Seaworld park, you’re one of those 711 million people. Lately, controversy has struck the world over the treatment of animals in those types of facilities. There are many good rehabilitation centers in zoos worldwide that help injured, endangered or ill animals, which is why a lot of people do support them. However, there is a darker side to these parks and facilities. These animals cruel pasts and hidden lives will never be heard unless we help. Help them escape their tortured lives, and see their families they were ripped from when they were only babies. Be the voice of the voiceless and shut down
Earth, an endless source of wonder and beauty, produced the Great Barrier Reef. Hustling and bustling, the Reef thrives like a busy city, teeming with life. Sheltering thousands, corals, maintain the well-being of the Reef; however, the world threatens its nature and delicacy. Populations growing and technological advances increasing, the world becomes more and more disconnected with the natural world, posing an alarming risk for the planet we live on. Although many organizations try to keep the oceans clean, because of human interference and unnatural occurrences, the Great Barrier Reef needs scientific help to adapt corals to new conditions for means of survival, putting pressure on the Australian government to save their ocean environment.
Imagine wanting not a puppy, but a tiger for your birthday, imagine the expenses of that tiger and the dangers and hazards of owning that tiger. Do you really think it’s a good idea to get that tiger? No, it’s not. It’s a lot of work, and it’s also very dangerous. Exotic animals are not good to buy and have. If you buy that cute tiger, it will eventually grow up and not be so cute, it will be dangerous and strong, it’s also a wild animal and it’s very unpredictable, also there are many diseases you can catch from that tiger, and there are many dangers of having that tiger as well. (Long sentence)
As spring comes closer its that season where people take their boats to icy cold waters off the east coast of Canada to go hunt seals. The seal hunt happens every year in spring off the East Coast of Canada. The hunters take their boats into icy cold waters with rapids and ice everywhere, just to try to kill as many seals as they can before the time runs out. Some ways that the hunters kill the seals is by either shooting them with a gun or using a hakapik, which is a spiked wooden club. As said in the article “The seal hunt is effectively a race between sealers to collect as many skins as possible before the quota is reached” (Why commercial sealing is cruel). The commercial seal hunt in Canada should not be abolished because
Fighting for a premium position upon the 19th world stage, strengthening global competition necessitated the United States to engage in increasingly expansive trade policy’s and practices. Linking the Pacific and Atlantic coasts was seen as an essential element to the success of this plan, with railroads serving as the linkage’s cornerstone. However, the rail lines quickly became more than a means to traverse the vast expanses of the Midwest. Previously unexploited, the tall grass prairies of the American western front exuded an enormous sum of rich natural resources. Cheap nature, worthy of great exploitation. Access though, had long been problematic, limiting the tremendous potential for capital accumulation. Expansive 19th century railroad
Chasing Ice covers the long debated topic of global warming and whether or not human activity is currently causing global temperatures to rise. Evidence suggests that increased carbon dioxide emissions over the past couple hundred years are responsible for the warming of the Earth’s surface, and thus increasing the levels of the ocean due to an accelerated rate of ice melting. We discussed this same topic in class and how humans are contributing to the greenhouse effect which plays a large role in trapping these unnatural amounts of gases such as carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere and causing a rise in the number of natural disasters around the world.
The Earth isn't flat. To some that is obvious. To others it's a bold statement. Many scientists and people argue about a topic that has a clear answer. Is the Earth Flat? Over centuries, people have debated whether or not our planet is flat. But now, with the advancements of science and technology, people still choose to believe and create groups or “societies” claiming the Earth is flat. The flat Earth idea is false due to use of science, common sense and an individual's own opinion.
In 1984, the "Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence" (SETI), was founded. This was when many started asking the question, "Are we alone in this universe?". However, this was not the first time that the people of Earth have wondered this. On August 21st of 1924, Public Officials promoted all of the American people to keep their radios silent so astronomers could use their extra powerful radios to listen for any potential signals from Mars. They tried this, as Mars is the closest planet to Earth.
For Safe Costal Living, Better Thank Engineers Coastal living is popular on both coasts. Shore residents have the privilege of easy and regular access to fun activities such as beachgoing fishing, and surfing, and the rest of the world enjoys visiting coastal areas for vacation and well-known celebrations such and Mardi Gras in New Orleans. However, Mother Nature can make coastal regions dangerous places to live. Threats can come in the form of flash floods, hurricanes, storms or predatory animals like sharks. Over the years, however, engineers have completed numerous projects that make coastal living much safer, and the astonishing feats they’ve accomplished give onlookers clues about what might lie ahead in the future.
There are many different ways that we as the earths population are destroying the environment. For example, the tall cooling towers used by industries. They do not remove pollutants but simply push them higher into the atmosphere, in this way they reduce their concentration at that particular area. The pollutants may then travel over large distances and produce negative effects in areas far away from the original site.
The environment today is not in a good condition, Climate change is evident, and oceans are getting polluted. Rainforrest's are decreasing in size due to deforestation and illegal logging. Animals are getting extinct due to the destruction of their habitats. Natural resources are being consumed at very large amounts, and get wasted. There are different ways these problems can be addressed, one option is environmental management. Environmental management focuses on conservation of natural resources, protection of habitats, and impact of humans on the environment. Conservation of natural resources is the smart use of the world's resources by humans, through this waste production is limited, and there will be less garbage in the world. By conserving
Globalization’s history is extremely diversified and began during the beginning of civilization. Now we live in a world that is constantly evolving, demanding people to use resources in locations that are very difficult to obtain certain resources. This could make it completely impossible to operate in these specific parts of the world. However, globalization allows people across the world to acquire much needed resources. Globalization creates the opportunity for businesses to take advantage and exploit the ability to take part of their business to a different country. Nevertheless, globalization is part of today’s society and will be involved in virtually all situations.
