Everyone can say that music has become a major part of almost everything in our lives, but many argue about whether or not music is a luxury or whether we need it to survive. Music has been around for as long as anyone can remember, yes it has evolved, but there’s always been music it seems. From tribes performing their rituals with music, all the way to someone listening to it just for fun. But, many say that a human needs music to survive, that without it life would not go on. And like mentioned before, it has been around for many years and it seems like one cannot picture a world without it. In my opinion, I believe, that one does not need music to live, it is just something people like to do while studying, practicing a sport, or just for fun.
First of all, everyone can agree that water, food, and shelter, are the main elements a human need to survive, music is not mentioned. The human needs water to hydrate their body and keep themselves’ in good health. Food supplies the human body with nutrients, and energy helping the certain individual throughout the day. And shelter, protects one from the blasting heat, and the freezing cold, yes humans

like to spend time outside, but we all have some where to go afterwards. Music is just kind of there for us we like to listen to it, however I do not believe it gives us anything beneficial. In fact I believe that music can actually isolate a human from other. Which brings me to my next point. Second, as mentioned above, I believe music can actually isolate a human from others, and can socially harm them in the long run.
People like to listen to music, but what if that’s all they do? They always have their earphones in, and can never actually have time to socialize with others. When another person see’s someone with earphones, they tend to stay away and not say anything to them, because the other individual feels like they are bothering the person with the earphones in. Not being social can harm someone in the long run, growing up one is going to need to learn how to talk to others, how to work with others. But, how can they do this if they constantly have their earphones in and are not having any interaction with other humans? People need to learn how to socialize and make sure they’re learning these
skills. Lastly, I believe music is just something people do now a days to be noticed or make money, there was a time where people would sing, perform, or whatever because they actually liked having entertaining others. But, it seems like everyone now is just doing it for attention or to make some cash out of it. Do not get me wrong there are people out there that still perform for the people and actually care about entertaining, but there are not many out there. There are also people who write music to express themselves, and I believe that this is a great way to express themselves as long as they realize that music is not the only thing out there. But, it seems like artist are just writing songs, about drugs, alcohol, and the opposite sex, music truly influences those who listen to it. It seems like music has gone away from expressing what one is feeling and is now in a more, explicit area. Music is a big part of everyone’s lives, and everyone can agree with that, whether they listen to it or not. But, do I believe that it’s something the human body needs to survive? No, I do not, I believe it is just there for entertaining. And those who write the music we listen to do not truly do it to entertain us, but to rather gain money, and fame. There are three things a human cannot live without and that’s water, food, and shelter, without these three elements there would be no human race. Music just tends to isolate us from others, taking our most important skill from us, and that is being able to work and talk to others. This is one of the most essential skills a human needs to survive, so do I believe that music is something a human needs to survive, no I do not.
Should it be Allowed? Suppose an artist or band sold their music to a record label or landed a deal with a company. Should this be allowed? Artists’ music should be used in advertising. It offers smaller artists a chance for their music to get heard by a wider audience and it is accepted nowadays for bands and artists to put their music in commercials or promote products for sponsors.
Since the earliest days of human civilization music has been a key tool for communication of stories which carried emotions through them. If we think back to our youngest years of life music has surrounded us whether it was from our parents singing us lullabies or from some sort of toy that played music we can say that musical melodies have helped shape or lives one way or another. Once we start growing up and figuring out who we are our musical preferences change; some people like classical and some like punk. We start to befriend people who like the same music as us and eventually we may attend a musical event. Our lives somewhat revolve around the music that we listen to.
It's all about the music, where would we be without it? The dancers would still dance, would the singers still sing? Music is the culmination and the essential component that conveys the natural rhythm of the soul. It's the emotional wave generated from deep within that life rides on. Think about the music in your head that drives the urge to vocalize or make a little harmony. Where does that come from, and where would we be without it? Unimaginable, completely unimaginable – the world without music. A stretch of the mind beyond the comprehension of any human being.
Music is defined as vocal or instrumental sounds combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion, but music is not bound by its meaning. Music can be almost anything a person wants it to be. No one can put a date on the beginning of music. Some say it began before humans spread around the world or possibly originated in Africa. A conclusion that most people would agree on is that music has been around for mostly all of time. Whether or not people know it, music is a key aspect of their lives, and it affects them in many ways. One may begin to question why do humans participate in and enjoy music so much? This question can never have a concrete answer, but many have ideas of what might be the reason.
Music is something that I believe we could not live without. There is a quote by a philosopher named Friedrich Nietzschethat says “without music, life would be a mistake”. I interpret this to mean that humans would not be creative if it were not for music. There is a reason that music can take us where word cannot. When you hear so many different sounds coming together to make a perfect harmony it is obvious that no words can make you feel the same way as the music. The best thing about music is that there are literally too many genres to choose from. There are different genres of music for any mood you are in. The origins behind these different genres is an interesting and rich history that is begging to be studied and written about. Let me explain....
Music plays a major role in life for most people. It can soothe and excite, encourage sleep and encourage dancing, we can sing to it and ponder it. There are so many different uses of music and so many mediums through which to play it such as Pandora, Spotify, YouTube, etc. Beyond that, more songs every day there are new songs being written. Statistics show that ninety-five percent of all Americans think that music is a core part of a balanced and well-rounded education. The same study showed that ninety-three percent of Americans thought music belonged in the public schooling system, and seventy-nine percent even suggested that music education should be mandatory for all students. Still, studies show that a staggering twenty percent of high school students choose
Music is the third most important thing to me in life outside of god and my mom. Music keeps me balanced. Every since I was a baby music was played around me. Jazz was always played around me to soothe me. There would be times when I would be really hyper acting like I couldn't sleep, my mom would put on some jazz and I would be fine. A lot of times I can have a long chore and I say to my self how can I accomplish this, Knowing it will take me forever. So I'll put on some jazz music and in twenty-five minutes I'm finished.
Having music in your life is very important. Music is one of the most powerful things in the world today. Many people make a lot of money making music because of its popularity. It may not be the same genre of music, but everybody likes it. Personally music helps me from day to day. When I am stressed I listen to it to calm me down. When I am sad I listen to it to make me happy. When my spirit is down I listen to gospel to bring it back up. Without music I do not know what I would do. I believe that there is music for every person and problem they may have. It helps me, and I know it will help
Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “Without music, life would be a mistake”. Music is almost as old as the human race and is as much a part of it as anything. So why would anyone choose to get rid of it? An Increasing number of schools across the nation are deciding to cut music education programs. This includes band, orchestra, choir, and general music classes. In 1991, 55.4 percent of public school eighth-graders took part in music classes at school. In 2004, this figure was just 49.1 percent. Money plays a huge role in this statistic: “...when funds are scarce, arts courses are usually the first to be dropped from a school’s curriculum” (“Arts Education”). While many argue that music education is an unnecessary cost for schools, it improves student’s overall well being.
Music has always been a big part of my life. Music is not just a bunch of melodies, rhythms, and vibrant sounds. It is a comfort to me. The lyrics of a song challenge my intellect and the rhythms and beats affect my emotions. Music understands me when people don’t. At times it takes me back to an event in my life or even in history. Both consciously and subconsciously my mind remembers the emotions that are attached to a certain song. It can make me feel on top of the world or the complete opposite; music can change the atmosphere and also set the mood. Music has power over my human soul. It soothes it. I cannot imagine not having music to listen to. It is a powerful force and my love for it is incredible.
“An art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color” is music defined by Dictionary.com. This definition is for the most part is accurate, from a superficial standpoint, although it does not capture the importance of music as music is vital in the rehabilitation and development of others. For instance, music is a tool that can be very effective if used properly. Take small school children for example. More often than not, they are taught songs that are intended to help them remember important information Even if the child is unable to recount the lyrics of the song, they will most likely be able to hum the tune and recount the information. Music not only assists children, it also adequately aids adults. This is the case with the classical music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as it has been known to entice learning. Many people take an advantage of Freedom of speech in their music. Rappers and rocker often does this in their albums and playlist. They use violent words that’s not protected by The First Amendment. Many of them uses violent phrases that can offend most listeners. Offensive music should be banned.
