Gun Control The second amendment reads, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” With the second amendment the people can own guns and use them for protection and sport purposes. In 2014 roughly 317 million firearms were owned by a US civilian and domestic law enforcement and about 39% of them were handguns, with that being said, it shows how many popular owning a gun is considered the US population was 319 million. The top three states in the US with the most guns are Arkansas at number 3 with 41 guns for every 1,000 people. For example we could have gun owner go through a test every couple months to keep your gun license and to make sure you're in the right state of mind to own a gun.
