Gun Control
Adolf Hitler once said, “To conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens.” The United States has roughly 300 million guns owned by citizens, and while gun control claims that it will not take away all guns and merely regulate them, many people feel a danger to giving gun control any footing. While gun control advocates believe that gun control will equal less illegal activity, it is too easy to buy firearms online, and that nobody needs an assault style rifle, research shows that criminals do not follow laws, websites that sell firearms are extremely careful about who they sell to, and the second amendment states that “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed” which includes assault style rifles. Online gun sales are the easiest way to obtain a firearm if you are prohibited from owning one because some state laws are different meaning that certain people will order firearms from out of state in order to get access to firearms according to some. This theory was tested through a Democrat-backed study meant to expose illicit online gun sales. Over the course of two-and-a half year period that tested both the “Surface Web” and the “Dark Web” agents shared with sellers that they were “prohibited individuals.” They believed that they would still be able to buy firearms through the flawed system. Through their research, the Democratic party metaphorically shot themselves in the foot. In the 72 attempts on the “Surface Web” to buy firearms while stating that they were “prohibited individuals”, all were unsuccessful. Throughout the two-and-a half year period, two firearms were successfully purchased. Both were bought from the “Dark Web” and both times, the information about being a prohibited individual was left out of the buying process. The NRA’s response to this study was simply that it was an“"embarrassment" for the gun control lobby” (Singman). This just shows that the people who claim that a firearm is too easy to purchase are wrong, because people with that view point tried and failed to obtain
