Throughout history there has been a single question sparking debates from classrooms to well-respected citizens. Society has always had thoughts varying from: aliens exist, aliens do not exist or there are aliens, but we have never made contact with them. The evidence proving that aliens exist is overwhelming, so much that the thought that aliens do not exist is unfathomable. An incident suggesting the existence of aliens occurred in 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico. This is one of the most, perhaps even the best, documented UFO encounters. It tells the story of a mundane farm worker, who discovered a UFO in his backyard. Everyone from local newspaper to the Air Force soon were on the scene. "General Ramey let photographers take a few distant shots of the wreckage. When they complained that they had not been allowed to get close enough, the general agreed to let them take more photos at a later date. When the reporters returned to the area, they claimed that the wreckage was not the same." Why would someone as highly established as a general change the wreckage if there wasn’t anything to hide? The answer is simple, he wouldn’t have to. Furthermore, if there wasn’t anything to hide, why wouldn’t the reporters take pictures from a close distance. The fact many reporters have reported that the wreckage was changed brings weight to this evidence. While if only one reporter commented their opinion that the wreckage wasn’t the same, people could have argued that he was imagining it. He and a group of other pilots saw a UFO, and after a quick chase only he followed the aircraft. Contact was lost and the next time he was heard from, he was unfortunately dead in an apparent plane crash. The UFO was then confirmed to be a weather balloon, but this doesn’t make sense. As someone who went on many missions for the United States during World War II, Thomas Mantell, the pilot, would have had a fair amount of knowledge on different air crafts from every country. He would not confuse a weather balloon for a UFO. Furthermore, if it was a weather balloon, Mantell wouldn’t need to chase it very far because he could easily catch up to it. Especially as Mantell had one of the quickest plane at that time. Additionally, while people could argue that Mantell had trouble seeing, that doesn’t excuse the other pilots with him. Even though, they didn’t chase the UFO as long as Mantell did, they still would have seen the ‘weather balloon’ and could have easily disproved the fact it was a UFO, and tell Mantell.
