Role-playing games with simulated violence are diverting in many ways. They help relieve built up anger, give kids a break from their everyday problems and struggles, and act as enjoyable alternatives to harmful or potentially dangerous activities. People of all ages can play them, and if played correctly, are always a healthy alternative to violence. First of all, they divert built up anger to a safe activity. If kids ever get into dangerous fights, it is usually in high school. These fist or shoving fights can endanger the safety of the students as well as have legal repercussions. These safe role-playing games with simulated violence can help these troubled students relieve their anger in a safe manner. The games can also help heal friendships and cool down rivalries that could turn very dangerous. Secondly, the entertaining role-playing games give kids a break from their everyday problems and struggles. For many high schoolers, these four years of their life can be very stressful and challenging. According to ABC, 97% of adolescents play games and the majority of them are violent. With all the sexual violence games out there-modern warfare-, they are affecting young children's minds. Which leads to future complications in their adult life. For example, they can have an anger problem or they gain a fascination to guns and that leads to school shooting because of the anger issue.

However there is a lot of controversy surrounding wether or not video games are good for you, many people are under the impression that video games turn kids and adults alike into mindless zombies hellbent on violence but in this essay I aim to convince you that not only is this untrue but that video games are actually beneficial. I’d also like to mention that too much of anything is bad for your health,for example extremely high quantities of broccoli can be toxic.

An article on Procon.org says, “A peer-reviewed study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health found that children, especially boys, play video games as a means of managing their emotions: "61.9% of boys played to 'help me relax,' 47.8% because 'it helps me forget my problems,' and 45.4% because 'it helps me get my anger out.". According to them they shouldn't because they are violent, causing this anger that people have to be used on someone else.
Violent video games have become more realistic every year. Children spend about 40 hours seated in front of a screen killing cartoon characters. It has been debated whether minors under the age of 18 should play violent video games that contain physical harm, killing, and sexual assault. In the contrary, people say video games increases the capacity of learning of children, but violent video games cause great damages. Although there are an increase learning skills playing video games, violent video games should be prohibited to minors because it changes an individual behavior, physical, and brain.

People can see and know that gaming is fun. They are playing a sport. Some disagree with this, but many other people believe it is. Using the flashcards exposes the child to the information repeatedly until it is memorized. While playing these games, the player learns the patterns of games through repetition. By doing this they are unconsciously learning to act in the same way as the game. In March of 2014, the Center for Study of Violence at Iowa State participated in a study where they followed over 3,000 children over a three year period who played video games. Since the experiment was carried out over a long period of time, it was easy to spot out the effect of the games on the test subjects. The report discovered that the boys who played the hostile games had an increased amount of recorded aggressive behaviors, and although the girls in the experiment played less violent games than the boys, they still displayed violent behaviors (Gentile, 2014). Teenagers also have to know when to play game and when to stop. It is a wrong time to play games if a teenager hasn’t done his/her homework. And this will result in parents asking their son/daughter to study. There’s no problem of talking about the game with friends. However, there are some people who cannot come out from the “game world” because they are not attached to the real world and ending up killing two policeman in the real world like the incident in Alabama, US in 2003.
