As far as impressive feats go, Mounties achieving Minor Premiership status in the Intrust Super Premiership NSW, the Ron Massey Cup, and the Sydney Shield for the 2016 season is a truly remarkable club-wide effort. It is a testament to the players and staff, who work around the clock to ensure the supporters on their home turf - primarily Aubrey Keech Reserve – are on show to watch an entertaining yet successful brand of Rugby League that has worked for the Mount Pritchard club this season. Their affiliation with the Canberra Raiders has been a huge success for both parties, something that Mounties’ Sydney Shield player, Tere Glassie, has seen the benefit from. “The amalgamation with both ourselves and Canberra has worked better than it …show more content…
Lining up for the NSWRL’s Captains Call, a player from each grade, plus Intrust Super Premiership NSW coach Steve Antonelli were thoroughly enjoying each other’s company, and were happy to stitch each other up whilst they participated in interviews. “You can see [how close we are] here today, all of us carrying on like lunatics, it’s good fun,” said Ron Massey Cup representative, John Kennedy. “At Mounties, all of the older boys set a standard and all of the younger blokes are pretty good at carrying that culture through. “There is a good culture, really good vibes and good people at here. We are minor premiers, I’m always grateful because it’s been a good year.” The Intrust Super Premiership NSW grade secured the minor premiership with two weeks remaining, and ultimately eight competition points clear of the second placed Illawarra …show more content…
“Last week we had two new combinations in the halves and we managed to come away with a win,” said Mataka. “We’ve had a few players in and out, especially in the halves, but I think it comes down to the boys stepping up to the plate when they’re asked to. “I guess it all depends on what Canberra’s doing, cause they’re obviously having a strong finish to the season, so whatever players they send back, same thing goes as usual, we’ll just shuffle players where they need to be put in. “It’s not normally until Thursday when we find out what’s going on, but I think we’ve shuffled well this year putting players in different competitions.” Glassie shares Mataka’s sentiments on the lack of concern on shuffling players between grades due to the incredible depth that Mounties possess, and because of the hard work the players have put in this year that they are now being rewarded for. “We’ve got a lot of guys moving between each grade as well which can be a bit disruptive at times but I guess with the way the season have gone with all three teams as well as the Raiders,” Glassie
when selecting the rowers should have taken into consideration both the psychological (personality types and traits) and the physical aspects (strength, speed, stamina, & coordination) and experimented the results of various combinations by mixing these aspects. He should have identified the growing internal conflicts and tried to look into the matter in the initial stages. Coach P from the beginning has focused on ascertaining his belief whether the Varsity team he chose is highly competent or not. Quantitatively, the members were highly competent in their individual abilities. Coach P. had several opportunities to counter this during the Atlanta Retreat. However, he failed to take actions on their failure as a team and waited to resolve it only in the end, just three days before the national games. The Army Varsity Crew is a dysfunctional group. They’ve not yet reached the Norming phase where trust among the members has largely been achieved. The coach should have made sure the structure and composition of the teams were properly made long before the seat races have started. The lack of presence of strong motivator in the Varsity team should have been met to give them a
The City Council of Boomtown, a fictitious city, wants to expand their current borders and is considering building new houses and apartments on one of three locations: Green Hill, Delta Wetlands, or Seaside Cliff. Though each of the landforms have differing advantages and disadvantages, the cliff would be the best place to build. It is located along the East Bay, north of the Rolling River. Seaside Cliff has the most stable land and the easiest solutions to its problems. It is also the least flood-prone and damaging to the environment. The most logical location to build in Boomtown is Seaside Cliff for several reasons.
Good morning, Ms Dowdeswell and 9b, today let us have a look at how much have contemporary historians challenged the ANZAC legend, my hypothesis is some contemporary historians do challenge the ANZAC legend to a great extent. Wait, what is ANZAC? ANZAC is the acronym formed from the initial letters of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. This was the formation in which Australian and New Zealand soldiers in Egypt were grouped before the landing on Gallipoli in April 1915. Everything started with WWI. But, how WWI began? Well, the direct cause of WWI was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand at Sarajevo on 28 June 1914. However, historians feel Militarism (Main),Alliances, Imperialism and Nationalism are the main factors which contributed to the rivalry between the Great powers that allowed war on such a wide-scale to break out. As we know during WWI, Europe was divided into two alliances — Triple Entente (Britain, Russia and France) and
The Canadian Shield is a landform region that covers almost more than half of Canada, it was formed about 3 billion years ago and was formed by volcanic eruptions. The Canadian Shield has some of the world's oldest rocks and has a lot of trees, lakes and rivers, some things the Canadian Shield provides us with is minerals, water from hydroelectric power and trees. it is a medium populated area and the population is very scattered, most of the people live in the southern area.
In 1893, Queen Lili’uokalani of Hawaii gave up her throne to the United States of America. About five years after in 1898, Hawaii was officially annexed and became a part of the U.S.A. During this time, the Hawaiian people were bitter and mournful as they watched the foreigners slowly take over their kingdom. Many foreigners came to Hawaii to achieve one goal, to increase the power of foreigners and decrease the power of Native Hawaiians. The kingdom of Hawaii was overthrown with the use of force and was unethically taken. Although Hawaii received benefits that were mainly in their economy, it still does not make up for the wrongful taking of the Hawaiian kingdom.
Many students who are enrolled in FFA are already heading in the right direction to a bright future. FFA has many career benefits within the program. Any of the career development events (CDE’s) have something that will tie to a career in agriculture or to a career of other sorts. According to the National FFA Organization, “FFA members embrace concepts taught in agricultural science classrooms nationwide, build valuable skills through hands-on experiential learning and each year demonstrate their proficiency in competitions based on real-world agricultural skills”(“Statistics”). There are so many careers that tie into FFA, and many of them have to do with agriculture. Not every career that has to do with agriculture is about farming. There are so many different aspects of the agriculture industry that many people never think twice about. Most people are not interested in agriculture because they think it is just about farming or
There is so much that can be learned from the past. Especially from an event that was as catastrophic as this one. How does one person gain such a grip on so many people? How was he able to influence them to change their entire life’s to conform to what he wanted. Somehow he was able to get them to move to a completely new place and create a world all their (his) own. How does one person convince and force so many people that it was time for their life to end? How does he force them to kill themselves? So many questions that are still being answered to this day. There are plenty of movies and research done on this event but there is still a lot to learn.
In “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, Zaroff is a hunter that lives on an island in the middle of nowhere. Zaroff demonstrates that he is rich, smart, and confident.
These seniors had experienced both the trials and victories of previous football seasons. Therefore, Coach Ware, along with the rest of his staff and team relied on these players to step up and take the leadership positions. His seniors proved their leadership both on and off the field through their words, efforts, and examples.
Sports teams play to win so they will play their best players. The better players on that sports team will usually produce better results than the worst players on that same
“Justice cannot be for one side alone, but must be for both” (Roosevelt). The goal of America’s legal system as we know it is that everyone is given an equal opportunity to stick up for what they may or may not have done, as described by former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt. Also this is what officials strive for, it is not always the case. Facts can be skewed, distorted, or misrepresented to make one side seem to be guilty without a doubt and to make the other side seem as if they have done nothing wrong. The Crucible by Arthur Miller begins and ends with one-sided accusations of witchcraft. It all results from a group of girls who had been dancing in the woods. After two fall sick, the accusations begin. The girls who were dancing, especially Abigail Williams begin blaming others to look less guilty themselves. Accusations are flying left and right so that soon, hundreds are in jail and over a dozen are executed. Abby’s main goal is to get rid of Elizabeth Proctor, so she can be with John Proctor, a man she previously had an affair with. However, John is not interested in Abby and his
Warren Gatland can be seen as an innovator, a person who introduces new methods or ideas to try to improve an individual or a team’s performance. He has come up with unique drills on a daily basis causing the individuals and team to help them think on their feet. His backroom team includes specialist coaches Shaun Edwards (defence), Rob Howley (attack), Neil Jenkins (kicking) and analyst Adam Beard, each of whom were part of the British and Irish Lions staff. Gatland quotes “The environment has to continually evolve to embrace all the available advances in game analysis, conditioning, nutrition, rugby skills and medical care, along with a constant reflection on how the elite game is changing and how we must respond to those developments”. The
The Newark Football team, for the past ten years, has been historically not very successful;however, with a change in coaching and a new mentality brought by the coaches and the players, it is all starting to come in the right direction. The players believe what the coaches say and we buy into the program and it has payed off so far. With our 2-0 start, this is the best start for a Newark football team since 2006, when we last made the playoffs. Being part of a football team is great, the players learn useful lessons about teamwork, mental strength, and how to handle adversity. The team has to work together at all times because we are only as strong as our weakest link; therefore, if one person is not on the same page, then that could result in a detrimental breakdown that could cost the team. The great thing about football, is the next play, football games are not won on a single play, it takes eleven men on the same page, firing on all
The motives were to please members of the club and also fans with on-field success. However, the path he chose wasn’t the best there was. He was strengthening his players with illegal drugs and after that he expected to gain personal advantage from fame, without actuality personally responsible for Cornulla Sharks’ financial liability (Dietl & Frank, 2007). Ironically, this opposes Cornulla Sharks’ short term goal of managing operations at lowest practicable cost structures while keeping a modest NRL squad (Cronulla-Sutherland Leagues Club,
