What makes a sport a sport? A sport is an athletic activity that requires skill or physical prowess. It is often a “competitive” type such as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, etc. When it comes to video games is their a thought that maybe playing games can be considered an actual sport. Many people will agree that gaming should be considered a sport and many will disagree.
Gaming requires tremendous amount of skill and strategy. It can either be played individually or with a team. Professional players train for months on end, showing strong mental focus, quick reaction time, and extreme dedication when they compete.

Both of these activities are considered to be sports to a few selected individuals but, when having a subjective view from the outside it is very difficult to classify these activates as sports. Both of these activities require a high level of animal involvement and therefore need little human participation or even skill. By allowing the animals to become the main focal point within the activity participants have ultimately removed themselves from the sport.

To this day video games are not considered a sport because it doesn’t require physical work. Even though it is not considered a sport, events exist in which teams compete for a big prize. Some people think that video games are a sport because it requires an incredible ability to play video games and know how to play the variety of games that exist. Others think that video games are just moving your fingers and pressing buttons, but it goes a lot further than that.
What makes a good person good? According to WikiHow, "We should learn to define our own morals ourselves. One of the simplest ways to do so is to love others, and treat them as you would like to be treated. Try to think of others before yourself. Even doing small things daily will greatly enrich and improve your life, and the lives of others around you." This quote shows us what we need to do in order to be what society thinks as, “good". In order to be a good person, you have to do good and moral things in your society consistently. However people might think that by doing one good thing once in a while will automatically make you a “good person”, but in reality it doesn’t.
Football, soccer, tennis, or track usually comes into the mind of people when they usually think about sports, but there exist certain requirements on makes a sport. Generally, people understand the idea of a sport, but in a more limited scope, usually thinking about a “sport” through what they see everyday, especially in a major sports network, ESPN or any channels devoted to mainstream sporting events. There exist a general idea of what makes a “sport”, thus there should be standards by which paintball is determine to be a sport. American football is a sport, but eating events are definitely out of the question. There exist borderline cases, such as paintball.
This is true as really the only thing you need is a flexible wrist, a mouse and a keyboard. With just that list you could be the world champion in LOMA (lord management) and RTS (real time strategy) games such as the very popular League of Legends and Dota 2. Sports typically require a rather large amount of physical energy while gaming requires little of the body and more of the mind. Many still refuse to look at the fact that although games don’t require physical energy they do require mental energy, they choose to refute this by simply saying that use of the mind is not true “physycal”

Someone is sitting on a stage with people clapping and people cheering, but they didn’t sing or dance, they did magic while playing a video-game. This is competitive gaming. People can see and know that gaming is fun. They are playing a sport. Some disagree with this, but many other people believe it is. The players must go to the gym for fast reactions and stamina and must be very mentally focused, and just agree to stick with the trends as well. Video gaming should be a sport.

The players train for hours a day mastering the art of jitter clicking (clicking very quickly by twitching the muscles in the wrist) heightening reflexes, and working as a team. Just like in professional typical sports, eSports teams have coaches telling them real time what is happening and how to respond.

Throughout the course of history, individuals have enjoyed playing sports. Whether it would be throwing a football, sprinting around the track, or kicking a soccer ball; sports have been a popular activity worldwide. The determination and expertise needed to play sports at the highest level has made it a challenging yet enjoyable activity. However in the recent years, sports have slowly drifted off from it’s traditional roots of physical prowess and into competitions of mental proficiencies. With the exponential growth of technology worldwide, it is not uncommon for the average household to have a computer, PS4, Xbox One, or even a Nintendo 3DS. In fact, the introduction of new technological entertainment has served as a gateway for the new generation of athlete culture; video games. As a result of the growth of video games, Esports (short for ‘Electronic Sports’) is slowly being integrated into athlete culture worldwide through its spectacular foundations, overwhelming popularity, vast prize pools, and recognition by official authorities.
