Argument Against Trophy Hunting

Reasons Not to Hunt

My topic will be to argue that trophy hunting is wrong, you shouldn't hunt an animal unless you have a use for every part of that animal and or a good reason to be hunting that animal. It will be a question of value. My goal is to persuade hunters that they shouldn trophy hunt. I like for animals to be safe and to stop being trophy hunted. Itś a waste of meat, fur, and sad because if you think about it that animal could have a family just like the person hunting. . .so for someone to just go and kill an animal for fun isn't right.

Hunting centuries ago was a cruel way of survival for humans but now it's no more than a violent form of recreation. Hunters should only hunt if they need it for sustenance which most

hunters don't need. Hunting has helped cause animal extinction worldwide including the White Bengal tigers as stated in “What's Wrong With Hunting?” written by kim johnson on pete2.com.
Many animals endure long, painful deaths when they are only injured but not killed by hunters. Hunting destroys families just as a death in your own family would destroy it. Hunting can cause animals to stress due to the fear that they have of being killed and the very loud noises. Even animals like lions and tigers who hunt don´t kill healthy animals they go for the sickest and weakest animals but hunters kill any animal just because they'd like to hang their head over their fireplace for decoration. Hunters most likely would kill the largest and healthiest animals who could help make the population strong just because it would look good in their family room. According to Peta2.com people use conservation and population as an excuse to hunt but it isn’t about conservation or population control at all, hunting isn’t a sport it’s just cruel and unusual to me and some people are just sick in the head, it’s profit driven “ Canned hunts are big business, but forty percent of hunters also kill and injure millions of animals on public land every year. Most federal and state agencies that manage wildlife refuges, national forests, state parks, and other public lands are partially funded by hunting and fishing activities, so agency employees often go out of their way to encourage hunting rather than regulating or policing it.”
There are also risk for hunters and why they shouldn’t hunt Hunters are not only injured by other hunters, but risk being attacked by different animals like bears for example the story of camille bomboy, an 18-year-old who was hunting deer and attacked by a bear.

Hunting accidents often injure or kill horses, cows, dogs, cats, hikers, and other hunters.Some hunters mistreat dogs just as the animals they hunt. Dogs who are used for hunting also suffer. They’re often kept chained or penned and denied routine veterinary care such as vaccines and heartworm medication. Some are lost during hunts and never found, and others who are turned loose at the end of hunting season to fend for themselves often die of starvation or get struck by vehicles. Also like other forms of thrilled violence, hunting leads to desensitization(make less sensitive) to the suffering and pain of others. “ A study conducted by Northeastern University and the Massachusetts SPCA found that people who abuse animals are five times more likely to commit violent crimes against humans. The majority of inmates who are scheduled to be executed for murder at California’s San Quentin State Prison “practiced” their crimes on animals, according to the warden.” So my opinion on hunting is that it’s bad but not everyone thinks like me and or care about animals the way that I

do!
