I disagree with the author Joel Stein when he says that the younger generation is “ lazy, entitled, selfish and shallow”. First he says that millennial only depend on technology and can't do any tasks without it. Second Joel Stein believes millennials are lazy because more people in between the ages of 18 to 29 live with their parents. Third he states that millenials lack face to face conversations with one another. Stein believes that millennials depend on technology for everyday task. My argument is why not take advantage of all the technology that surrounds us. Technology drives the modern world and without it we wouldn't have so much advancement in the simple things. And they still live with their parents. First Stein starts by saying that millennials are not accustomed to having jobs. He believes that most millenials get a bunch of freebies and receive everything in their hands. His proof for this states that the families and work institute reported that 80% of people under 23 wanted a job with greater responsibility, 10 years later only 60% did (Stein par. 2). This proof is not valid because 10 years ago we didn't have the technology we have now. 10 years ago, the first iPhone made its debut on the market. It's not that we do not want jobs with greater responsibility. Its just that everyday tasks are easier nowadays with the technology that surrounds us. Secondly he believes that if you, a millennial, live with your parents you are lazy. This is seriously such an invalid argument by stein. It is much cheaper to live at home instead of renting your own place. I understand if you attend a college out of state you are going to have to rent out a place.
