Archetypes In Lightsabers

The different archetypes are the shadow, the mandala, the great mother, the transformation, the hero, the spiritual father, and the trickster. All archetypes were drawn from a part of what makes us human and hidden in our subconscious. Many of the characters in the film often play more than one character. An example of this would be Ben Kenobi seems to play the archetype of Luke’s father, then he also plays the archetype as an old, wise man.

The symbolism throughout the movie was pretty clear. An example of symbolism would the lightsabers. The lightsabers, as Ben teaches Luke, are the traditional weapon of the Jedi. Ben tells Luke that the lightsaber is precise and elegant, and he also says it is a weapon. Luke is placed in his father’s footsteps

when Ben hands him his father’s lightsaber. This basically means he is starting his initiation.
Myth inspires both acknowledgement and wonder. Myths usually show people how their lives should be lived through a communication of order. The hero cycle is defined as a series of events that occur as a rite of initiation in every myth. Meaning, this pinpoints the need for jesters, mentors, and villains. Each of these lead toward the Star Wars hero, Luke Skywalker.
The subtexts and special effects in the film were also easy to catch. An example of a subtext in the movie would be where Han Solo had to go pay off his debt to Java, or another example would be the color of the lightsabers. The blue symbolized the good and the red symbolized the evil. The special effects in the movie added on to it and made all of the action seem more realistic and exciting. A great example would be the noise from the lightsabers.
