Bradley Powell Mr. Brown British Literature 6 May 2014 Apple Vs. Samsung When it comes down to smartphones two main companies come to mind Apple and Samsung. Apple makes the phone called the iPhone. Samsung is the producer of the galaxy line of phones. In today’s day and age there is a lot of dependence on smartphones, from directions to places and restaurant ratings and also checking personal emails to phone calls, they do it all! There are many brands of smartphones and the top two are Apple and Samsung Both companies have features that bring customers to purchase their products and they also have certain features that push customers away. More than fifty percent of people in the world own a smartphone. Smartphones have defiantly made our way of life easier and majority of them all have the same functionality so whichever phone you choose all comes down to personal preference depending on a numerous amount of options that differ from each device. A lot of people today worry about appearance and what the next hot fad will be; this defiantly plays a part amongst other things that makes people want to purchase an iPhone or a Galaxy smartphone. Screen size and quality plays a big part when it comes to deciding on which phone a potential consumer will buy. Currently Apple carries three phones the iPhone 5 the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S; they all have the standard screen size of a 4-inch LCD display. Samsung currently has two phones on the market, The Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S3 screen is 4.8-inches and the Galaxy S4 screen is 5-inches. The galaxy screens are noticeable bigger. Even though some people find that a bigger screen is beneficial others find it extraordinary large screen to be a hassle, especially whe... ... middle of paper ... ...h more control than just being able to change the wallpaper. It also allows for the addition of widgets, although this can sometimes make the UI feel cluttered where the iPhone 5S seems a lot simpler. The added real estate, Full HD resolution of the 5-inch display coupled with expandable storage make the Samsung Galaxy S4 ideal for those that love to watch movies on the go, as well as those that have adapted to using both hands whist texting. It also makes mobile gaming easier, with less of the screen being taken up with on screen thumbs. Those looking to play more casual games may be more suited to the iPhone, although the 64-bit chip makes it slightly quicker to load the more graphic intensive games. Apple's iPhone 5S also comes with the added advantage of hooking up to iCloud, making it easy to sync between multiple iDevices. Works Cited Works Cited
Just like the iPhone. When the iPhone first came out it was one of the most popular phones ever. And from the iPhone then Samsung started to think we should create a phone that is similar to it. Till this very day Apple and every other phone companies compete. Although they are thinking alike they both come up with very different things. They make their phones operate differently. The Apple IPhone is easier to work with while the Samsung Galaxy phone is harder to operate. Although, Samsung has tried to make a duplicate like the iPhone both phones come with different features.
Samsung is Apple’s biggest competition when it comes to phones especially between Apple’s iPhone 5s to Samsung’s Galaxy S4. They are both very popular among consumers, but they are differently different from each other. It is an endless debate on which one is better, but it really comes down to which one is better for you as a consumer. There are good and bad issues with both phones such as with the Galaxy S4, the TouchWiz Ul remains a clumsy construction and lacks overarching design language, but the good thing about t...
Technology has evolved over the years. It was first the pager that was a crucial device, then the PDA and lastly the Smartphone. The core product is the main idea of why a phone or Blackberry will be bought and its technology, connectivity and mere ownership of the device gives the owner the feeling of superiority. People cannot fathom existing without their cell phones these days. The ability to connect in case of an emergency, tardiness, chatting with friends and other similar situations is an important point. Everyone wants to “keep up with the Joneses” by having the latest devices.
When it comes to smart phone market share in the United States, Apple still trails Android by almost 10%. But if you are to break out the market share figures then you will notice that IPhone reigns supreme by a very wide margin. According to a lot of recent data compiled by ComScore, Phone’s share of the United States smartphone market now is about 43.6%, followed by Samsung which is at 27.6%. Apples market has increased by 4% almost every year, while Samsung has been dropping by 4% almost every year. Although Apple is doing a bit better than Samsung overall, Samsung is still topping Apple with their Android. During the second quarter of 2015 Samsung took a 21.7 percent of the global smartphone market, with shipments 73.2 million units. A reason I feel Samsung is doing much greater then apple right now is their ability to have all these different features, which not only add modern things to their phone but also longevity. With the three new water proof phones that Samsung has come out with Apple has yet to release their first
The iPhone is easily better than any Android design because of the sleek and sharp design and a colorful display that attracts the widest range of consumers with interest and awe. The phone’s design has been greatly thought out and is well built for anyone. Brooke Crothers, a writer for Cnet.com, explains the simple yet artistic build of the phone, “Thinness, in my book, is the foundation for coolness. But thinness isn't just an aesthetic bonus; it can be practical too. In this case, Apple stretched out the 4S just enough to allow for a bigger screen, while making it lighter and easi...
Did you know that the average person picks up their phone up to 150 times a day? Of that 23 times a day for messaging, 22 times for phone calls, and 18 times to check the time. Phones are everywhere, and whether you like it or not cell phones will most likely be the item that stays the most important thing around. I do not see cell phones leaving anytime soon. The two most popular phones out there that majority of people own are either going to be Android or Apple. Some may refer to Apple as iOS, but it is most recognizable as Apple. Many of you may know of the controversy between Apple and Android, Android has been accused of copying Apple’s look, which many people do believe they have. Despite this controversy, both phones offer great differences
With all the hype surrounding the iPod post its introduction into the electronics market, it should be of no surprise that iPod’s unmatched demand for such distinct music management tool would lead Apple to add iPod’s features to the most sold electronic device to date: the cell phone. Thus, you get a hybrid called the iPhone. This highly anticipated electronic trend setter without fault had numbers of people waiting in line at the Apple store in New York; iPod fans want to be among the first to explore some of the most innovative phone features to date. Among those features you will find a 3.5 inch touch screen (the largest of all smart phones), Wi-Fi connectivity, the most usage time of all smart phones, i.e. talk time, internet use, or video playback, and many more impressive characteristics. The iPhone has, thereby, revolutionized the cell phone industry to become a potential best designed and most admired phone of the decade.
Apple uses a app called the app store. This has thousands of apps that people can purchase. These are made and designed by people. The only thing with apple is that you can only purchase apps on the apps store. When people start talking about android there are many different phones and devices that a person can use. For instance someone can buy the galaxy s6. This phone runs on android 5.0! This is the latest software that has come out. Whenever you buy an android phone they use only android. These devices can run both systems. Android has there own app store that they use. Android is more complex. You can design android to the way you like it. People who want a device that you can customise use android. Android is more for the advanced phone geeks. Apple is more simpler for people to understand and use. The samsung galaxy s6 has a lot of cool features. There 's a camera With 5-megapixel front and 16-megapixel back cameras that can launch in just 0.7 seconds, capturing moments the moment they happen is as simple as point, click, snap. And thanks to an f1.9 aperture, even low light party shots will look as amazing as you remember(Galaxy S6). This phone is Protected by the very latest Gorilla
So the options are much more limited and the decision is more likely to be based on the dollar amount spent on an iPhone. The App Store iPhones use is like a library that only holds bestselling authors. There are limitations set on the apps so the variety is much smaller than the Google Play Store and the diversity of applications is nothing compared to the Android market. Along with being limited on applications, music is much more limited on iPhones.
Many people would rather spend more money on a phone like the Iphone, instead of buying a phone like the LG phone that is inexpensive and could do the same thing or who knows even
Logos The iPhone in a way is like a laptop, it is three things in one a iPod, a revolutionary mobile phone and it can be used to surf the web and to do other things like guide you to your destination using the google maps. I am iPhone user from last 6 years & I think iPhone is the best Smartphone today available in market. It is very useful in all expects. Despite all the promises by Android phone makers to streamline their skins, the iPhone remains the easiest phone to use by far. There's no separate app drawer for your apps and no annoying overlay to get in the way. Some may lament the lack of change in the look and feel of iOS over the years, but I consider it a plus that it works pretty much the same as it did way back in 2007. Pick it up, turn it on, touch the app to open.

The truth is that Samsung is a technological giant who has been around for many years, an empire, which continues to grow. A company whose mission is to "Inspire the World, Create the Future."
“The Galaxy S4 sets a new record for Samsung, generating sales quicker than any of its predecessors. It is estimated that the phone is selling at a rate of four units per second” (). As I personally own this phone, I know how many incredible features it has. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is the perfect phone for a multi-tasking, busy student, due to the large screen used for many different applications, Polaris Office 5 feature and its durability.
Comparing the design between Apple and Samsung, they have some differences and similarities. Apple more focuses on simplicity than Samsung. Steve Jobs, was the CEO of Apple Company, always tell the employees that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. When you look at Apple products you will realize that there look really simple, clean and unique. IPhone only has very few colors, and most of them are black and white. Touch screen and three buttons on the side are pretty much everything on the IPhones. It does not have too many different series and most of the Apple products design very similar. Compare to the Apple, Samsung smartphones have many different series and designs. Customers have options to selects their favorite designs, colors or size among the Samsung’s
