Warm, welcoming, intimate – everything you would want in a dining experience. When you walk into Antico Posto the atmosphere is the first thing you notice, dimly lit and romantic, but still family friendly. On any given night it is usually busy, so reservations are usually the way to go – But while you wait they have a conveniently located bar with a long list of available wine.
Antico Posto has that authentic Italian feel – It’s carefully hidden within Oakbrook mall, and is considered a hidden gem to most that dine here. The energy in the room is lively, and you will feel as though you have found your way to Italy!
I personally have found myself at Antico Posto many of times, whether you want a quick bite to eat – are on a date – or are having a family event, hands down Antico Posto is the way to go. My first experience at Antico

Posto was about three years ago, my husband had taken me there on a date and since then we have been there many of times and not once have been disappointed. Most of the servers at Antico Posto have been there for a very long time, so every time we go there we kind of feel like family. I decided to go to Antico Posto with my husband Jonathan, and my 18 month old son Jack. Jack typically tends to be very well mannered in restaurants so we thought it would be a fun family outing to include him in. We went to dinner Wednesday night – this was my son’s first experience at Antico Posto. We were immediately greeted by the host, and they were accommodating with letting us choose where we would like to sit. Immediately after we were sat the busboy arrived with water and bread served warm - that seemed to just melt into your mouth as soon as it touched your taste buds. Mouthwatering olive oil was served on the side with fresh delicious giardiniera mixed within, drizzled with cheese and balsamic. The fresh delectable bread and olive oil went quickly, and the busboy was quick to ensure our plates never went empty. The server arrived to greet us shortly thereafter with the specials, her name was Vicky and she was very informative. She really seemed to know the menu like the back of her hand – giving us insight what wines would go with what entrees, what meals were lighter – heavier, she really invested time into making our night special. Tonight specials were; Pork Tenderloin with sweet corn, caramelized onions and aged balsamic, Tilapia Milanese with baby arugula, cherry tomatoes, shaved parmesan, and lemon vinaigrette, and my husband’s favorite Sirloin Braciole. We ordered our drinks, my husband kept his water and we ordered our son a lemonade. I am in LOVE with their wine, and after reviewing their wine list I went with their Moscato D’asti – which goes for about ten dollars a glass. We immediately received our drinks and asked the waitress for a little time to review the menu before ordering further. She was very courteous and gave us all the time we needed. One sip of the Moscato D’asti and I was in heaven, it’s sweet with a full vibrant flavor – and it is very smooth almost like silk caressing your lips, needless to say it wasn’t long before the glass was empty. The waitress was quick to pick up on when we were ready to order, and almost as if she was a magician she had things in hand before we had even asked. We decided to go with the fried calamari for our appetizer and we ordered our son the kid’s pasta with marinara. The waitress immediately put in our appetizer order and my sons meal, which I thought was beyond fantastic, as young toddlers rarely ever want to “wait” for their food. After reviewing the menu for a few more moments I choose to order the Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken for my entree, and my husband had ordered the Parmesan Chicken Raguso. We relaxed for few moments and took in the scenery, the restaurant was packed but was still very elegant. At most table’s you’d see waiters or waitresses who were tending to their tables, or carrying conversations with their patrons. It was very soothing and everyone seemed to be having a wonderful dining experience. The busboys were quick to ensure tables were cleaned and set, servers were great about removing excess plates from tables. While waiting for our appetizer my husband and I started joking around with one of the waiters we have had previously at another time. It was nice to see they remembered us and remembered our names, they took the time to ask if we needed anything – cleared off any remaining dishes from our table and ensured our water glasses were filled. Our appetizer arrived quickly alongside with my son’s entrée, it was great to have both arrive so quickly. Jack was starting to get antsy and my husband and I were about ready to dig in. The fried calamari arrived served with shredded parmesan cheese with arugula, marinara, and tartar sauce on the side. The fried calamari had soft tender pieces, glazed in a light crispy batter. Just the sight of our appetizer left my mouth salivating. Every bite just oozed with flavor, and it was very delicious. At this time my son had also received his entrée, the Pasta with Marinara sauce. The noodles were penne, and the sauce tasted like a rich hybrid of vodka sauce and tomato garlic, topped with parmesan cheese. My son feasted his eyes on his meal and soon after he was covered in pasta sauce– I’ll just take that as an 18 month olds sign of approval. My husband’s Parmesan Chicken Raguso was moist, soft, flaky and creamy. Prepared in a white wine and garlic sauce, topped with asparagus and parmesan cheese. Since I tend to be a little more particular about what I eat I did ask to have the Parmesan cheese from my salad placed on the side and I opted for oil and vinaigrette in place for the Caesar dressing. My Chicken Caesar Salad arrived with warm flavorful chicken, romaine hearts, baby arugula, and aged parmesan cheese. It was rich and appetizing, and made even better with their delicious croutons mixed within, and drizzled with oil and vinegar. Closing into the end of our meal the waitress was very attentive to take the remainder our meals and have them prepared and boxed to go.
She went over an array of dessert options and we decided to go with the gelato of the day, which happened to be Banana Nutella.
To my dismay when the waitress arrived with our dessert - she had in hand a vanilla fudge gelato for our son, which I did not even know came with the kid’s meal. She was great about making sure we had excellent service and making us feel like VIP’s within our dining experience. Needless to say my son was all over the gelato, and ate every morsel.
My husband and I shared the Banana Nutella Gelato, which came prepared to us with freshly shaven chocolate on top. It was Smooth, and creamy – with rich milky Nutella seeping through the hints of succulent banana.
We received our check in a timely manner, and one of the other waiters had even assisted my husband with helping us out, which was very kind as I was trying to maneuver out in a wheelchair.
We left with yet another pleasurable experience and my son now has a wonderful memory of his first of many visits to Antico
Posto. Antico Posto is open Monday thru Thursday 11:30 am to 8:30 pm, Friday thru Saturday 11:30 am to 9:30 pm, and Sunday 12:00 am to 8 pm. It sits behind The Container Store in Oakbrook Center. Average Cost of dining is anywhere between $20-$40 dollars, depending on what you order from the menu, and the child’s entrées are quite affordable at $5.95 total for the child’s drink, entrée, and a big bowl of gelato. The décor has an old rustic Italian feel, but still is very modern with the lighting and fine table clothes. Beautifully painted walls, and filled tables throughout the restaurant. The booths seats make you feel as though you have melted within them and are very comfortable. My visit Wednesday was superb with great service, friendly atmosphere, delicious food, and great memories. Antico Posto is a restaurant for anyone looking for just a great dining experience. The food is simple enough to satisfy anyone’s palate, yet is rich and flavorful to ensure this is the best Italian you will ever taste. People should dine here because it’s fun, it’s not very expensive, all occasions are appropriate, and the food just speaks for itself.

Everyone wants their food to taste superb when going out to eat. Both restaurants served excellent homemade chips and salsas as well as queso dip. Reading the menu to order was no problem and both places had a wide variety of options to choose...
It was a very positive beginning to our dinner. Our server seemed to have a sixth sense of when his section was sat and came to us to get a drink order within two minutes of the hostess leaving. He also seemed to really enjoy his job. Since it was her first time at Texas Roadhouse, my friend had a lot of questions about the menu and our server was very patient and answered every one to the best of his ability. We were also approached at our table by a manager who was sincere in her welcome to the restaurant and made us really feel at home while we were there. All in all, there was nothing to complain about when it came to customer service; it was
I have never walked into a raising canes restaurant and have not been welcomed by a smiling Cane’s employee saying, “Welcome to Raising Cane’s” or something to that sort. The service is outstanding and that’s what makes it better then Popeye’s or Church’s or some other fast food chicken place. If I know I’m in a rush to get somewhere and I’m hungry. I can always count on Cane’s to have my food fresh out in a
The menu can surly please anyone with their selection. Whether one is the mood for pizza, beef, pork, chicken, seafood, or pasta, Carrabba’s can satisfy anyone’s palate. If there is still room, there are many deserts a diner can choose from, such as tiramisu or a savory triple layer chocolate cake. The restaurant also offers gluten free and vegetarian options to accommodate anyone’s diet. Let’s not forget, Carrabba’s has a wide selection of Italian and California wine, as well as imported and domestic beers, which takes the customer around the world.
Olive Garden always has a warm welcoming atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy dinner with your family. The waitresses and waiters are always respectful and care about your needs as a customer. On my many occasions to Olive Garden the service I get is always exceptional. I have a toddler and my servers were always very patient.
Since 1903, banana pudding has been an American desert classic. The sweet taste of warm vanilla wafers can warm up a cold body anytime! The most common recipe for banana pudding calls for the use of an oven and stove top. Although, this recipe does make for a great banana pudding, it can take the average individual almost an hour to prepare the desert. Now a day, time is money for most families, so being able to prepare a desert like this can be time consuming. Having a no bake option can be the perfect fit for busy families. This recipe will provide you with instructions on how to prepare a no bake banana pudding that will taste like it came straight out of the oven!
At Bianco, this seems to come naturally. Initially, people might try Pizzeria Bianco to sample the fabled food. After all, restaurant critics don’t just like this place, they rave about it: “I first ate at Pizzeria Bianco in 2009, and it rocked my world. It was the best pizza I’d ever had, and I’ve eaten at many of the top-ranked pizzerias around the world” (Olmsted p 4). However, what keeps people coming back for decades is far more complex and includes how Pizzeria Bianco makes them feel. The combination of exceptional ingredients, Chris’ genius creativity, the staff’s impeccable warmth, reasonable prices and a little bit of something magical makes for a near perfect experience. Beginning from the moment you open the door, up until the time you receive and pay the check, this place offers value: you get more than what you pay for
Alassio is one of the Italian Riviera's best kept secrets; once a top destination for Brits, it no longer draws the teeming crowds as it used to, outshone by its chicer French counterparts. Yet, this is possibly what makes it so perfect for a romantic getaway: what better way to connect with your other half than being immersed in a place that hosts few English-speaking tourists? Surrounded by the romantic Italians, you'll truly get to experience Alassio as a local and maybe even pick up a few pointers. Indeed, the Italians know best when it comes to food, wine, and how to have a good time. Alassio's silky beaches, sparkling clear water, and deep green
If there is one place in Naples that I never get tired of going to, and where I can have fun just by basking in the ambiance of its atmosphere, it’s the authentic Mexican restaurant, Cilantro Tamales. At first glance the restaurant seems to be in an inconspicuous spot, lying in a strip mall containing a no-name music store and consignment shop. However, despite the location, Cilantro Tamales stands out from all other restaurants or gathering places.
A. My favorite sweet treats are tiramisu, flan, and vanilla ice cream, with fresh strawberries.
Rotolo’s possesses an Italian-themed, comfortable atmosphere that is very welcoming while not being too loud or too
While we were there we picked up a gingerbread cupcake for later (below); both were excellent by the way. LH liked the gingerbread gelato better and I liked the peppermint best. These foodie finds are sold out of the cutest little edible store called Ginger's Bread & Cookie Shop (below & gallery). I thought the alternating Mickey and Minnie head cookies around the fascia and the Mickey gingerbread man weathervane were adorable little
Whether you have important out-of-town guests, or are just entertaining family and friends, ice cream is the perfect after-meal treat. Vanilla ice cream is a common flavor for home at any important dinner. Family and friends, on the other hand, may like Neapolitan, a
Soon, we all sat around the dinner table enjoying my grandma’s culinary specialties. There was one dish that had stuck in my mind though, possibly because it was the last dish served that night.
