Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores to shop at. Their clothes are sophisticated but still fun and free-spirited. I decided to do my report on Anthropologie because I would one day like to work for them and want to be knowledgeable on a company before an interview. Through my research, I was able to discover things that I did not know about Anthropologie. Anthropologie is a unique company with a very innovative style of doing things from their story, growth, visual merchandising, teams, and a large amount of shared stocks.
Anthropologie was founded in 1992 in the autumn. The store originated in Wayne, Pennsylvania because of a lack of stores to shop at that encompassed the lifestyle of a woman with a free-spirit. Dick Hayne, the founder of Anthropologie, wanted to create a place for women to shop who had outgrown what Urban Outfitters had to offer but still wanted to have a creative wardrobe. Anthropologie is one of the only one’s of its kind for women ages 30 to 45. Their target market is wide since their merchandise is so vast. From home décor to clothing there is something for every age in Anthropologie.
Within Anthropologie's 23 years of being in

Sales reps salary in the first year is 70,000 and commission is capped until, they exceed the sales revenue in $70,000. Anything over $70,000 in sales Reps will receive 10 % commission on all sales life, disability, and Long-term care. The reasoning behind the $70,000 salary is Dan Price the CEO of Gravity payments decided to pay all of his employees $70,000 based on a 2010 Princeton study that basically says if you make less than $70,000 there will be compromises in your life that will effect your work productivity and positivity almost every single day (Weise, 2015, para. 12). $70,000 is a healthy amount of income for these reps, but it is also their sales quota as well. To reach that quota reps will be working long hours from 7am to 5pm or later based on
The Target Corporation prides itself on their department store roots with a constant obligation to great prices and stylish originality. The main focus of every Target store is the customer, whom the corporation refers to as a "guest", making them feel more personal. Each guest can expect to walk into a clean, organized, and easy to navigate store with "high quality, stylishly designed items plus all the essentials for his or her life".1 The company also has a significant focus on design. The company employs a "design for all" strategy that says great design is for everyone to enjoy, everyday. The product designers know how to create products you will "love to live with and low prices you can't live without".1 The commitment to design has become a key technique of attracting and keeping their shoppers coming back.

James P. Spradley (1979) described the insider approach to understanding culture as "a quiet revolution" among the social sciences (p. iii). Cultural anthropologists, however, have long emphasized the importance of the ethnographic method, an approach to understanding a different culture through participation, observation, the use of key informants, and interviews. Cultural anthropologists have employed the ethnographic method in an attempt to surmount several formidable cultural questions: How can one understand another's culture? How can culture be qualitatively and quantitatively assessed? What aspects of a culture make it unique and which connect it to other cultures? If ethnographies can provide answers to these difficult questions, then Spradley has correctly identified this method as revolutionary.
The term “The Little Black Dress,” the fragrance “Chanel No. 5,” the Chanel suit with its soft, cardigan-like jacket and skirt, have become part of the timeless fashion vocabulary familiar to us all. From our perspective, these aspects of modern fashion hardly seem revolutionary, but Coco Chanel was a businesswoman who became successful by adopting fashion to the evolving role of women in a rapidly changing wartime society; her vision that left a legacy which endures to this day.

Fashion is everything to society and the media. The fashion industry has transformed into a necessity in the life of people. Everyone wants to look good, feel fabulous and feel as if we belong with everyone else. The envy and desire to wear certain things and look a certain way all come, from wearing the latest fashion handbags, accessories, dresses, shoes, and the list goes on. But, when is considering fashion into an individual’s life going too far to the extreme? Many do not consider the whereabouts of fashion materials and how the environment is affected by the mere existence of certain garments. Some may believe these objects grow on trees. But that is clearly not the case. Even though it would be nice. The fashion industry as a whole, has been notorious from green issues caused by their lack of sensitivity to the environment, conspicuous and unnecessary consumption of materials, encouraging an “throw-away” society and image issues that support women and young adults to look a certain way to feel “beautiful.” This is an issue that has increased over the past decades. Not just women, but men also feel the uncontrollable need to do whatever it takes to look like the celebrities they see on television and on the runways. The thought that the materials to make those desired items may have caused the life of animals or the destruction of mother nature does not come into mind. Countless people are concerned about conserving planet Earth and keeping it healthy. The fashion world has been targeted for many corruptions.
Polo Ralph Lauren’s key success factors derive from the company’s powerful identity. For a company that started out less than 50 years a...
Embarking on a journey of anthropological fieldwork will undoubtedly include a plethora of setbacks. At its foundation, fieldwork requires developing rapport with the native people in order to gain access of genuine knowledge pertaining to the specific culture being studied. Subsequently, social communication between the researcher and the native people is a key component to the entire process; yet simultaneously it is a root of the many problems a researcher can encounter while in the field. It is no secret that the cultural background of the researcher can often highly contrast the culture he or she enters during fieldwork. This initial cultural adaptation one must undergo while doing anthropological fieldwork is what many in the realm describe as culture shock.

Susan Lindee and Ricardo Santos’ goal was to understand the contexts of genesis and development of biological anthropology around the world from an international standpoint, focusing on engagement with living human populations. Their contributors, scholars in history of science, science studies, and anthropology, were guided by key questions about national histories, collections, and scientific field practice.

One cannot generalize or predict all human behaviors, thought processes, morals, and customs. Because human nature is dominated by different types of cultures and societies in various parts of the world, this can often lead to misunderstanding which ultimately leads to the illusion of cultural superiority, and in most cases this can lead to genocide - the systematic murder or annihilation of a group of people or culture. Anthropology is the study of humans, our immediate ancestors and their cultural environments this study stems from the science of holism - the study of the human condition. Culture is crucial in determining the state of the human condition, as the cultures are traditions and customs that are learned throughout an individual
Cultural anthropology has taught me a lot in such a short time. This class has been very eye opening to me and has made me think more about the different cultures around me and just how important it is to learn about them. One of the things I have learned is how religion is related to culture. Culture is behaviors of a community such as the food they make, the music they listen to, and the rituals they take part in. This can be very similar to religion because a culture is based off of their religious beliefs. Some cultures do not eat pig because it is against their religious beliefs. Some cultures listen to particular songs because it is based off of their religious beliefs. Another thing cultures relate closely to is languages. Without language
