This video shows how the beverage of Coca-Cola can bring families together, with “Hey Brother” by Avicii playing in the background. The setting in this short clip starts off in a living room with two brothers picking on one another, the oldest brother had placed the younger brother’s headphones on top of the tallest shelf, knowing that he could not reach it. Each brother is dressed in jeans, tee shirts, and converses. Then later in the clip the younger brother is sitting on a park bench and a bully takes his coke which lead to the older brother coming to the rescue by scaring off the bullies. It had shown that even though the brothers picked on one another, they would always have each other’s back. Coca-Cola is a brand which is throughout this clip from the sofa to the dinner table and to a park bench. This ad is trying to convince families to use the Coca-Cola brand in their daily lives as a refreshing beverage. To appeal families with a beverage it must be luscious, delightful, and satisfying which every member of the family can enjoy it. Some terms that can come to mind when drinking a coke is American and classic. This brand has been around for centuries allowing families and friends to come together and enjoy others company. Some employees with travel a few days or even years to take the assignment that has been assigned. This travel kit was developed by the “Coca-Cola Company medical services department” and “Emory University Travel Well Clinic”. The items that were inside of these travel kits consisted with items they believe were most useful for prevention and self-treatment in case of a medical emergency. To use this travel health kit and make modifications the company had developed a survey to business travelers to explore experiences with the health kits. The health care kits consisted with analgesic, wound care, doctor names, and more, but the survey they were asked to fill out just were questions of their age, gender, and travel time to see if the care kit would be effective. Based on the information and data collected through research the statement that soda has no nutritional benefits for the human body and causes harm, opposed to stating that soda has no negative effects to the body can be made. Soda is often a big part of a human’s diet. Therefore, the harmful effects of soda are occurring without people knowing soda is to blame and not having the knowledge of the illnesses that are linked to it.
The Coca-Cola Company is well known for their heart-warming advertisements with the use of emotional appeal. The advertisement “Brotherly Love”, demonstrate how an older brother will love his little brother unconditionally, no matter what. The ad shows that by taking over the umbrella when it’s pouring rain or placing his headphones on the very top shelf, so his youngest brother won’t reach them. But just when a clan of three kids appear to bully him by taking away his Coca-Cola, the older brother shows them that his little brother cannot be messed with. It’s as if he is the only one who can mess around with his little brother. If anyone else even attempts to try and bully him too, he will get defense. One 12-ounce can of Coke a Cola contains 39 grams of sugar; that’s about the same amount of sugar that is in a medium sized cake. Coke also doesn’t have any protein, fiber, calcium, iron, vitamin A, or vitamin B (Coca-Cola). All this soda does that is useful is temporary relief to thirst, and it gives you a good sensation as you drink it. There are many other drinks out there, smoothies, juices, and chocolate milk. Sugar in liquid form is very easy to digest; a 12-ounce bottle of soda can be digested in less than 30 minutes. This means that our blood sugar levels spike, making the kidneys over work. This results in tremendous amounts of fat being produced in the liver. Young children don’t think twice about drinking soda, they have seen their parents drink it, and they always have it stocked in the refrigerator. Soda is starting to be known as “worse than cigarettes” and even “a legal drug” for its harmful effects on a human body. Mountain Dew, for example, was invented in 1940 to mix with whiskey. Its name comes from the slang word moonshine, a strong homemade whiskey because it was made in the night on the mountains secretly during prohibition. The ingredients of the sodas have obviously been substituted for other substances which scientists have found to be harmful to the human body. Several articles from ABC News, The Wall Street Journal, and various websites in the last several years have done stories on the top-selling soft drinks in America.

From 11 studies with over 300,000 participants, from the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) writes, “Drinking one 12-ounce serving per day increased the risk of type 2 diabetes by about 15%” (Harvard para 5). One of the lead professors in those studies at HSPH had said, “The association that we observed between soda consumption and risk of diabetes is likely a cause-and-effect relationship because other studies have documented that sugary beverages cause weight gain, and weight gain is closely linked to the development of type 2 diabetes" (Harvard para 6). The major cause of the obesity problem is the consumption of sugar drinks; another scary fact is that 1 in 4 people consume at least one can of soda a day while another 5% drink at least 4 cans a day! Marking is a huge source of why teens and adults pick sugary drinks; in fact sugary drinks are the top caloric source in a teen’s diet. Beverage companies spend billions of dollars in marketing to sell there sugary drinks, with a majority of the target being to youth kids between the ages of 2-17. Coke launched a supposed anti-obesity advertisement, and they tried to advertised of there calorie free drinks and encouraged people to take responsibility for their own drinking habits.

Some people drink soda every day with every meal, so that means they drink more sugar than their body needs. The sugar in soda is making our body flexible to gain more weight and become fat.
