Anne Frank was a thirteen year old Jewish girl who was forced into hiding in 1942. Her family and another family, the Van Daans, hid in the back of her father, Otto Frank's office building in what they called the "Secret Annex" for the next two years, until they were discovered by a Nazi group called the Gestapo and arrested. It was during her time in the Secret Annex that Anne wrote in a diary that she had named Kitty, telling it of her experiences in the the annex, reported the position of the war and its most memorible events, and shared her personal feelings on the situation. The diary became an outlet throug...
Miep Gies wrote Anne Frank Remembered to honor the memory of the Frank family, to show what happened to Jews during World War II, and what she did to hide the Frank family. Gies was asked to write about her experience in the war, but Miep also wanted to consider how Anne Frank played such an enormous role in Miep’s life; Gies wanted to add the impact of how Anne’s diary affected people into her book. The book is the first-hand account of the persecution of Jews. Miep was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1909. Gies was five when the war started. In December of 1920, 10 years old, Miep was taken to Holland to be treated after almost dying from undernourishment because the Germans were taking food to support their army. The family she was taken to for treatment later adopted her. She grew up in Amsterdam with her adopted Dutch family. Miep was going to return home but her parents said she was Dutch and she remain so. When Miep was 24 she came to work at Travies and Company making jam. She married Henk Gies after she discovered she was going to be deported back to Vienna; Miep loved Henk. Hitler started to demoralize Jews and make them seem inhuman, they were the scum of the Earth. When Jews started to be relocated to camps those who could go went into hiding including the Frank family. The Frank family moved into a hidden section of the Travies and Company and hid there for years. Later, the Frank family was discovered by an anonymous tipster and taken to an internment camp. Miep discovered Anne’s
Even though Anne Frank and Elie Wiesel lost some of their family members, they still stayed strong and went into the situations head first. Anne never got liberation, but she deserves it because of all the people she helped out. Both Elie and Anne always cared about others and not
Anne Frank was born in 1929 just at the beginning of turmoil in German society. At the beginning of her life, Frank’s family was a relatively normal German-Jewish family living just outside of Frankfurt. Her father, Otto Frank, was a business owner and her sister, Margot Frank, was three years older than her. They moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1933 because of the threat to their lives because of their Jewish Heritage.
Some people have never heard of her. Anne Frank was a girl who was raised during the Holocaust. She had a diary her father had given her and somebody found it. They learned all types of stuff about the Holocaust, and what happened during that time. Anne Frank and her family were German Jews.
The Diary of Anne Frank is about a girl that had to go into hiding with her family and another. The Diary of Anne Frank takes place in the top floors of the annex to an office building in Amsterdam,Holland, during the years of World War II.In this story there is a good vs evil because anne is trying to survive the cruel world and she is forced to go into hiding.Anne always has the fear that nazis will find them and take them all away and then separated them. Then Mr.Dussel tried to wake her up to tell her nothing happened but she wouldn’t so he called Mr.Frank.When she woke up Mr.Dussel told her that she kept him up.
A major part of Anne Frank’s life was writing in her diary which she records her thoughts and feelings of her life. Unfortunately another big part of her life was the Nazis taking over her home and hiding. She hid for over 2 years in an office being isolated from the world around her. Sadly she didn’t survive the concentration camps when she got captured but her diary still exists displaying changes in maturity. Due to the circumstances surrounding her situation Anne Frank matured from a teenager to a young woman as seen in the development of her personality, relationships with other people and lifestyle.
Anne Frank is a strong young girl that lived during the Holocaust in Amsterdam, Germany. She lived in a very bad time during the Holocaust which she either had to hide or go to a concentration camp. Anne Frank is a normal girl that should be going to school and not be in hiding from the Nazis and should not have to take the sacrifices of having no friends, no ability to be free and to express her religion. I consider Anne a hero because all the dedication to staying free and not having to be under a dictatorship. No teenage girl should not be told that she cannot be any religion besides what is allowed by Hitler. Hitler made it his goal to get ride of all Jewish people which is something that is very disrespectful and anyone should have the choice to be the religion that they want to be. Anne Frank is a hero because she stood up to the Nazis trying her best to no get caught and to stay strong and to believe what she wants to believe.
There are many books that have been written by either Holocaust survivors or those who died in the Holocaust and left their diaries behind. One very popular book would be Night by Elie Wiesel. Night tells the story of Elie’s life during the Holocaust. Elie was born in Sighet Transylvania and in 1944 he and his family were taken from their homes and put in concentration camps. The book tells everything that happened to Elie and his father in Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps. Another very popular book would be Anne Frank’s Tales from the Secret Annex. This story was written by Anne Frank in a diary that she kept with her while hiding from the Nazis in the “secret annex” when she was thirteen-years-old. Anne was killed during the Holocaust but her diary was found and published by a family member. Even though Anne did not survive, we still remember her through her diary. These people and stories that have survived through the Holocaust are the biggest piece of evidence that the Holocaust happened.
The name “Anne Frank” is synonymous with hope, optimism, and belief in human good, even in times of relentless evil. Although she only lived to be fifteen, Anne is known and respected throughout the world for the humanistic light her work shed on an infamous time. Born June 12th, 1929, in Germany, she spent her early years in a middle-class Jewish-German family. However, the tranquility of the Frank family and 522,000 other German-Jews’ would be shattered by one of the most nefarious events in history, the Holocaust. Anne’s diary became an influential resource in understanding historical and emotional aspects of the Holocaust. Although she was young, Anne Frank is the greatest diarist of European history because she preserved a critical time in history, her work captured the human experience of the Holocaust, and her ideals of hope and optimism remain influential throughout our world today.
Anne Frank was a German-Jewish diarist. She was known for the diary she wrote while hiding from anti-Jewish persecution in Amsterdam during World War II. Her diary describes with wisdom and humor the two difficult years she spent in seclusion before her tragic death at the age of 15. Since it was first published in 1947, her diary has appeared in more than 50 languages. Perhaps more than any other figure, Anne Frank gave a human face to the victims of the Holocaust.
The Diary of Anne Frank is about Anne Frank’s life in the Secret Annex hiding from the Nazi’s. The diary shows how the members of the Secret Annex help each other keep hope in spite of dark times.
One reason why it was hard living in the Secret Annex for Anne Frank is that there were a lot of people in a small place. That was a main reason why it was hard living in the Secret Annex for Anne Frank because there weren’t a lot of food for eight people. Also, there wasn’t that much space in every room. Hence, there was a lot of people so that means there were more problems.
Anne Frank is a very famous story. She's famous for the way she wrote and how she was treated in the concentration camps. The reason I like Anne Frank is because even though she was hiding from the Nazis she still learned to live a normal life. In Francine Prose’s article she says “ I quickly became convinced that I was in the presence of a consciously crafted work of literature.” Another
On June 12, 1929, at 7:30 AM, a baby girl was born in Frankfort, Germany. No one realized that this infant, who was Jewish, was destined to become one of the worlds most famous victims of World War II. Her name was Anne Frank. Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, by Anne Frank and B.M. Mooyaart, was actually the real diary of Anne Frank. Anne was a girl who lived with her family during the time while the Nazis took power over Germany. Because they were Jewish, Otto, Edith, Margot, and Anne Frank immigrated to Holland in 1933. Hitler invaded Holland on May 10, 1940, a month before Anne?s eleventh birthday. In July 1942, Anne's family went into hiding in the Prinsengracht building. Anne and her family called it the 'Secret Annex'. Life there was not easy at all. They had to wake up at 6:45 every morning. Nobody could go outside, nor turn on lights at night. Anne mostly spent her time reading books, writing stories, and of course, making daily entries in her diary. She only kept her diary while hiding from the Nazis. This diary told the story of the excitement and horror in this young girl's life during the Holocaust. Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl reveals the life of a young innocent girl who is forced into hiding from the Nazis because of her religion, Judaism. This book is very informing and enlightening. It introduces a time period of discrimination, unfair judgment, and power-crazed individuals, and with this, it shows the effect on the defenseless.
