Anne Frank is the essential to understanding the horrors of the Holocaust. Anne’s full name is Annelies Marie Frank. She was born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany. In her family it’s her father Otto Frank, her mother Edith Frank, her older sister Margret Frank and herself the youngest in the family. Anne was a happy girl she had a lot of friends and always loved being the center of attention. Although Anne did get in trouble a lot unlike Margret who was shy and quiet like her mother. On September 3, 1944 they were transferred to Auschwitz death camp in the middle of the night. When they arrived men and woman were separated this was the last time Anne saw her father and the last time Otto saw his wife and children. Later Anne and Margret was transferred to Bergan-Belsen concentration camp. A few weeks after Anne and Margret left Edith died of starvation. In Bergan-Belsen food was scarce and a disease called typhus was going around which sadly both Margret and Anne caught. Anne died a few weeks before British soldiers took over the camp. Anne’s diary has been written in 67 different languages. When her diary was first published it was called “Anne Frank” they soon changed it to “Anne Frank the Diary of a Young Girl”. Many places have actually banned Anne’s diary saying it “pornographic” to some. Anne’s original diary contains on autograph book, two notebooks, and three hundred sixty (360) loose pages. Anne’s diary was originally first written in Dutch and was published in 1947. Later it was published in America on June 16, 1952
