A Veterinarian Researcher does many tests, and supervises the production of drugs, chemicals, and biological products to better the lives of animals. Some people may think that testing on animals is inhumane, however if we didn 't test on animals the only other option would be on humans. Although testing on animals may have limitations, they are also the closest living thing to humans. Animal testing is a much safer alternative to human testing. Humans have a higher moral status and animals lack human rights. Could you imagine humans being science experiments and not knowing what the outcome might be? American woman on average use 12 personal care products a day, so product safety is of great importance. The U.S. Food Administration endorses the use of animal tests on cosmetics to make sure the product and the ingredients are safe. Cosmetic test on animals main goal is to determine that potential harm a substance can do to a living species if it is ingested, inhaled or comes into contact with the body. Cosmetic testing is mainly focused on making sure that a product does not harm a person 's eye or skin. It is also tested for overall toxicity and any other toxicity related to ultraviolet light (Connect Us 5). Governments today still require cosmetic companies to test on animals to ensure the safety of the products. The laboratory care takers are required to clean and maintain the kennels the test animals stay in so their living conditions are more pleasant. They must dust, spray and bathe the animals to control insects. If that is not done so then the animals my start to feel discomfort and could also end up with rashes or bug bites. The animals must also receive proper nutrition. The animal need the proper food to keep them healthy and they also need to make sure they are receiving the correct amount of food, so they are not over or under fed. The caretaker 's job is to also make sure the animals feel as if they are in a safe and loving environment or the test may not come out correct. To ensure this happens the caretakers need to play with them,exercise the animals, take them on a walk, provide them with companionship, groom, trim or clip animals coats just as they would be taken care of in housing
