I come from the country where there is nothing insight other than crops and dirt roads which is the best feeling you could have to be free from society. I have grown up here my whole life and don’t know anything different with my uncle and aunt living a few miles away on a beef farm and the township where my dad use to work being just down the road and the old run down barn house that I still live in today. This is part of society that I love living in living on eight acres of land with an animal farm. I use to never have an animal farm but I knew sooner or later we would because my dad loved living on his dairy farm. We use to only have a pasture where we would either round bail or square bail hay for my uncle with his tractor way we had no use for it at the time. I grew up riding in my dad's lap on the tractors and the township vehicles. Whenever no one was home dad …show more content…
would stop by the house to come pick me up and we would either be hauling gravel or grading roads and this is how I spent my days with him before he was no longer able to handle because of his illness. When he was no longer able to work for the township he became relentless and had to be doing something to keep himself content so when my brother and I got older he wanted some animals to keep him content and give us some of his experience living on a farm. When he talked about doing this it was kind of nerve racking for me because I never had to take care of an animal other than a dog and he wanted a steer to start us off but I told him if I was going to take an animal to a fair I want to do a pig mostly because my best friends did and because it was a lot smaller and I thought it would be easier. This was the start of my 4-H experience and our animal farm that would soon grow into a bigger one. This was a new experience for all of us because my dad only raised and milked dairy he never took care of a hog before other than in Future Farmers of America (FFA). We did alright that year it was a learning experience more than anything. We had one underweight pig which was mine and one that was in the weight limit but did not place in its class which is understandable way it was our first year and we knew nothing about hand feeding before fair and what to feed them around fair time instead of just straight feed. We picked up a lot of tips during fair and how to probably feed them before fair to give them a certain look and we usually always place now because of those tips and it is a great feeling to place even if it is not first or second which goes out for the Grand Champion drive. The year after that we decided to keep a hog to breed and also decided to buy a dairy market feeder which became my favorite animal project to show at the fair. Those two years were the best two years of my life and would stick with me on through my final years of 4-H.
After those two years we have had rabbits, chickens, beef, baby pigs, sows, boars, and turkeys. I have learn how to take care of these animals and there mostly the same way except with different feed but you do learn things about these animals that help you with others such as with the turkeys and chickens we had some males that weren’t the nicest and would attack you when you turned your back on them which helped me with my feeders and steers because I learned to always keep an eye on them. The biggest experience though comes with raising pigs because people do not know how hard it actually is and how difficult it can become when you don’t have the best equipment. The dedication is probably the hardest part about the pig business because you have to go outside everyday and make sure everything is taken care of which when you're not feeling good then it really becomes a real pain. This has been a great experience that has made me who I am and why I am so laid back compared to some
others, This country life has made me who I am and I will carry it forever on ward in my career. I recommend any kid or teenager to do FFA or 4-H because of everything it teaches and if you do 4-H do not let your parents do your project for you because it doesn't teach you anything. I have grown up in the middle class but for what I have had and what I have experienced has made me into a person who takes his time but completes the job and does it right.
The movie takes a strong stance on sustainable farming, so much that one might be able to say that is the agenda of the movie. They mostly speak of a specific farm called Polyface Farms in Virginia. What they do there is they use the same plot of land for multiple animals. Each of them use it at a different time. They have a process called the Pigerator. It is not a huge big, scary process; it is simple. Cows are in the barn during the winter, and they make waste. When they take the cows out, they mix corn into the manure to ferment it. Later, when the pigs come in, the pigs dig looking for the fermented corn, thereby mixing the manure into usable “fertilizer”.(American Meat) They also
In these dark hours, perhaps the worst in the history of the farm, I find that I only see unhappiness amongst each other. The cause of this unhappiness you ask, is the pig who you trusted, Napoleon. If he stays in power than the farm won’t be the only thing we will lose. Just take it from Boxer, He is a trustworthy horse Who never did any of us wrong. And Where is he now?, Oh right Napoleon had him killed just to pay for his whiskey. Now I don’t know about you but I think having ruler who would choose whiskey over an animal isn’t fit to rule.
Raising and showing pigs will teach you so many valuable lessons that you cannot get anywhere else, so following a few steps to ensure that the pig is properly taken care of is well worth it in the end! Although raising livestock does take a lot of time, money, and equipment, it will all pay off well in the end! You should always consider what to look for in a show pig, how to properly care for it throughout the year, and how to show it at your local county fair or jackpot show!
I grew up along the beaches and in the woods of Long Island Sound. This was the country. And from then on I was terribly busy hitching up all the dogs I could find to pull me around on my sled in the snow, and picking cherries high up in cherry trees, chasing butterflies, and burning leaves, and picking up shells on the beach, and watching the new flowers come up in the woods as the seasons passed (Days Before Now)

It was was a dark night, all the animals huddled around Old Major to hear what he had to say about his dream. It turns out Old Major talks about rebelling against man so that all animals can have a better life. Ironically, after Rebellion, no one except Napoleon has a better life and he makes their lives even harsher. This is a story of communism, this is the story of Animal Farm.
Although George Orwell’s Animal Farm was created in order to mimic individuals as well as occurrences that took place during the Russian Revolution period, it is still possible to gain a comprehensive understanding of the text without a past knowledge of history through the exploitation of human nature’s imperfections. Following the publishment of his novel, Orwell confirmed that his goal in writing this fable was to expose the wrongdoing of the Soviet Union as well as the treachery of the true ideas of the Revolution. Nonetheless, there have been several other examples of events such as the French Revolution that can effortlessly be contrasted against components of the allegory. However, we need not to dig no deeper than to the fundamental faults in human nature to witness the catastrophic consequences that attributes such as hierarchy, propaganda and betrayal have on today’s society.
Almost all the animals had a very bad memory so they were not able to
As soon as Old Major had died Napoleon took his place as the leader of
The original dream of Animalism was not to just have animals successfully run a farm, but to live by certain rules. Rules such as, all animals are equal, no animal shall kill another, and no animals shall drink, wear clothes, sleep in a bed, or do anything else that has to do with humans. This dream was a failure, because Napoleon disobeyed all of these rules throughout the story of Animal Farm. The dream of Animalism failed because of Napoleon’s selfish nature, and inability to abide by rules that he found inconvenient.
ANIMAL FARM About 80 per-cent of all the animals on Animal Farm completely followed the seven commandments. The other 20 per-cent of the animals would rarely follow all the rules and they were often treated like a piece of dirt. All the animals on Animal Farm were treated differently according to their social status, where in today’s society everyone should treat everyone equally. The characters in Animal Farm had many diverse characteristics, some of the animals were powerful, stupid, and sneaky First of all, Napoleon is a huge Berkshire boar and he clearly is the most powerful of all the animals. He was able to take complete leadership of the farm because he secretly trained the dogs to attack Snowball. George Orwell writes, “ ‘Never mind the milk, comrades!’ cried Napoleon, placing himself in front of the buckets. ‘That will be attended to, the harvest is more important’ (817).&nb describe Napoleon as a leader, “ ‘long live Comrade Napoleon’ ” (846). All the animals on the farm (no matter what Napoleon did to them) would treat him as a powerful leader and whatever he said they would do. Often Orwell stirs up controversy about the rebellion, “ ‘forward in the name of the rebellion. ‘Long live Animal Farm!’ ‘Long live Comrade Napoleon!’ ‘Napoleon is always right.’

It is worse to suffer in ignorance than to know how awful the situation is and to endure it. In the novel Animal Farm written George Orwell the animal suffer from the situation of Napoleon leading, Orwell sates "things never had been, nor ever could be much better or much worse—hunger, hardship, and disappointment being, so he said, the unalterable law of life" (pg87 Orwell). This tells the reader that animals are suffering from the corrupted leader. Boxer, Clover, Sheep, and Benjamin suffer the most because they see the problem, they know Napoleon is not doing the right thing but they do not face the problem because either they are scared of Napoleon or they just do not want to involved in that situation.
