“Similarities between the Egyptian Revolution 2011 and Animal Farm”

In writing animal farm, Orwell was trying to show his readers why the animals revolted against their master. Also, the Egyptian Revolution that began on January 25, 2011, showed the world why the Egyptians revolted against their president. The Egyptian revolution parallels Animal Farm in three main ways: rejecting the unfair rule, using a successful method of terror used, and creating powerful chants and songs to motivate protestors.

Rejecting the unfair and cruel rule of their regime, the people and the animals started a revolution that helped shape their future later on. The idea of revolting against Mr. Jones was given by Old Major after he asked all the animals to gather in the barn. He talks about a new perspective about Mr. Jones, which led the animals to picture a better future and to be free from human exploitation. The animals revolted against Mr. Jones as a result of showing apathetic attitude towards the animals as he treated them without any care and consumed without produces. “We are given just so much food as will keep the breath in our bodies, and those of us who are capable of it are forced to work to the last atom of our strength.” Similarly, the people that started the Egyptian Revolution demanded the overthrow of the Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak, as a result of his unfair ruling for 30 years. ...ed in one voice and called for the instant resignation of Both Husni Mubarak and Mohaamad Mursi. Their persistent chanting and their determination finally led to overthrow both of the presidents. Interestingly in both situations both the animals and the people had a specific chant they acquired after they have accomplished their goal and ended the revolution with the regime stepping down.

I do believe that both Animal Farm and The Egyptian Revolution have inspired a lot of people to take certain actions to change their attitudes. By declining their oppressed rule, denying the unfair method of terror used against them, and by making unified and great chants and songs, both people and animals have generated a great experience for future generations to make use of. They crafted revolutions that will be eternalized and engraved a great picture in people’s minds.
