Should the cons outway the pros when it comes to animal welfare? There are debates on whether animal experimentation, factory farming, exotic animals as pets, and the culling of animals is right or wrong. There is also animal abuse and why there should be harsher laws. Should animal experimentation, factory farming, exotic animals as pets, the culling of animals, and animal abuse be allowed and if so shouldn't there be stipulations? Here are some cons of animal experimentation from Chris Hayhurst Animal Testing and Animal Rights Debate on pages twenty five through twenty nine. Animal experimentation is ethically wrong and that million of these animals sufferer pain and death. The animals will often be put to sleep after the tests are …show more content…
The human population is growing and it needs to be fed. Intensive farming may offer new ways to reduce starvation and malnutrition around the world. Since the animals are kept in enclosures there is more land to grow other food and greater vararites of it. There are lots of people that care about the price and since there is more meat and other animal products produced in shorter amounts of time the cost is cheaper. Here are some cons of exotic animals as pets from peta.org´s Exotic Animals as Pets article. May cause suffering for the animals if the kill shot is missed and the animal runs off and lives the rest of their life in pain.
Here are some pros of hunting from vittana.org 12 Pros and Cons of Hunting article. Hunting can help keep wildlife populations from overpopulating and taking control of that area. Hunting is a way of surviving for some people in some parts of the
However, there are ways to correct the issues with the present system. If all 50 states and other countries around the world were to institute stricter regulations, such as those mentioned above, it would help make owning exotics safer. Animals like lions and puff adders have no place being in anyone’s home, but other animals like ball pythons and leopard geckos are reasonable. The most important thing that the authorities can do to help regulate the exotic pet trade and reduce the potential damage caused by it, is to educate the public. It is essential that people be involved in and aware of decisions that are being made. Especially decisions that concern their safety and that of the world around
Throughout the world, wild cats, reptiles and primates live peacefully in their natural habitats. Despite this, every year more and more of these exotic animals are becoming domestic pets. Keeping exotic animals as pets is unsafe and should therefore be made illegal. They pose a risk of injury, disease and invasion of the natural environment. Some people believe that keeping a pet does not pose a risk if properly kept and trained.
The first big issue concerning big game hunting is that it is considered to be the citizens' rights. Anti-hunters would believe that there is no right for anyone to take the life of another living creature. It would be morally wrong. The thought of going out and killing an animal for fun is just appalling to these individuals. Maybe they believe hunters will rear a generation of killers. They would argue that there are many other things in this world that could bring that sort of excitement to a person.
Hunting as we all know can be a very controversial sport in the eyes of the public. Hunting as described by Webster’s Dictionary is the activity or sport of chasing and killing wild animals. There are numerous different ways to hunt the same animal as well as innumerable different species of animals to hunt. Hunting includes trapping, shooting, and even fishing. Americans tend to hunt for the sport of it while citizens of other countries often depend on the catch of the prey to feed their families and communities.
Do you think that keeping exotic animals as pets should be legal? Well, I think that owning exotic animals as pets should be illegal. First, safety is a main concern for both the animals and for people. Secondly, it cost a very large amount of money to properly care for these animals; money people usually don’t have by themselves. Finally, it is against the law in many places to own these animals. Exotic animals should not be kept as pets.
Have you ever seen a stray animal on the side of the road and thought nothing of it? It is actions like that and others that continue to make this planet a cruel place for domestic animals to live. Many domestic animals are not created to destroy or harm anyone or anything. They are meant to be surrounded by loving caring humans who want to have a mutually beneficial relationship better them. Sadly, these animals are taken into shelters or pounds and if not claimed or adopted they are euthanized or become test subjects. According to PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, “each year, more than 100 million animals are killed in U.S. laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical,
Imagine wanting not a puppy, but a tiger for your birthday, imagine the expenses of owning that tiger and the dangers and hazards of owning that tiger. Do you really think it’s a good idea to get that tiger? No, it’s not a question. It’s a lot of work, and it’s also very dangerous. Exotic animals are not good to buy and have.
First, hunting can be a source of relaxation. Sitting in the woods with nobody else around, far from the routine life, can be very therapeutic. One’s life is hectic with all the demands of everyday living. Running away from them, and having a time for oneself can be very healthy.” Even If you don’t makea kill , you will benefit from the peace and quiet sounds of nature“(National Geographic News ,March,2007). Moreover, hunting is a good method to rid oneself of pent up anger. Emotions may build up, and anger might fill the mind; hun...
Hunters often reveal that being in nature provides time to clear the mind. In the woods, there is no rush, no schedule, and no deadlines; nature moves at its own pace. This interaction provides a deep spiritual connection with the land, the wildlife, and our planet. Hunting has been around since the beginning of time and has been in many people 's lives for generations, these are some reasons why people all across America continue to hunt. Hunting has many benefits such as reducing deer related car accidents, controlling deer densities in heavily human populated areas, creates jobs, and feeding and supporting families. Thus, deer hunting is necessary for several reasons.
Therefore, the ownership of exotic animals should be banned in America because they are dangerous to humans and they are mostly endangered. Although some disagree that they should be able to own any animal for various reasons. If an exotic pet has an owner, the animal is a threat to any person it comes in contact with. From 2010 to 2015 in the United States, there have been 167 injuries and 59 deaths from exotic pets. Not only are the animals being owned but all the other animals in the wild, 19 species are predicted to go extinct by 2023, 8 of them because of people owning exotic pets.
Hunting is a passion for millions of Americans across the United States and without it who knows what the current deer population would be. With the white tailed deer having few predators and a large habitat to thrive in it is important to keep the tradition of hunting going. Besides, the real problem Anti-hunters should be focusing on is the growth of cities and communities because they are what truly hurts the deer population. As long as deer hunting safety remains under control and the deer population stays in tacked, there should be no reason to end future hunts for Americans. To conclude, it is true that many people don’t believe in the ethics of hunting and that is alright, because regardless of how they feel hunting is here to stay for many years to
The topic of hunting has always been filled with controversy, excitement and trepidation for the environment. Both sides have varies ideas as to what is wrong and right. I realize that many people do not understand why people have to hunt or why people do hunt. One of the questions that kept coming to mind is why so many people are against hunting when their ancestors hunted and without hunting many of them would not be alive today. This question is relevant because many people are becoming to be worried that animals are in pain when being hunted and that it is unfair for people to hunt selfless animals with modern weaponry, and with many people going against the right to own guns.
Having exotic animals as pets is immoral and dangerous. They endanger the community, become sick, and their owners abandon them. Each State in the USA has a different law against exotic animals; multiple allow exotic pets, some allow restriction, and few do not permit exotic pets. Even if keeping an exotic animal is illegal, some one will go against the law to have what he or she wants. You may think ‘i can take good care of an animal. It will be better off with me,’ but it won't. Every country should have and exotic animal ban and realize the hurt one is causing to these poor
Why exactly do people hunt? Why even simply hurt any animal that is already endangered? We need to stop the over hunting or habitat loss that happens everyday. In one of my articles, it states that laws have been in the making to limit hunting and development (1 Sexton, Jennifer and tom Warhol) . For example, let's say that the deer population went extinct and the wolf population ate those deer. The wolves population would decrease tremendously because they don't have a big food source and they may only have little things like rabbits or birds.
Animals in zoos will always be safer than out in the wild. Zoos give animals enough space to run free. The animals are not stuck in a cage. Zookeepers always have their eyes on the animals to make sure that they are safe. Zoos also allow children to see and learn about animals that are exotic and without the chance to see them at the zoo they would never see in the wild. Zoos are protecting animals in many ways. Most big zoos have a full-time staff of animal health professionals, including veterinarians and animal health technicians. These people examine the animals and treat any health problems that arise. Some small zoos use local veterinarians to help with animal health problems. (Wright) Captive breeding of endangered species gives these animals a second chance at life. Animals such as; Pinta island tortoise, are extinct in the wild. But they survive in several zoos around the world. Zoos are always improving to make animals habitats a model of what it would be like if they were in the wild. Many of us remember our most memorable childhood field trips spent watching various animals in zoos. We enjoy the scenery and the elephants, pandas, tigers and monkeys and we learn about them and their natural habitats. I believe all children should have a chance to experience going to the
