100 million sharks are killed every year for the mere need of their fins for shark fin soup (98 Important Facts about Animal Cruelty). 556 billion land animals are killed every year for food (98 Important Facts about Animal Cruelty). Sixmonth year old baby animals are killed for their hides, by throwing them against walls and skinning them alive while they are screaming for just the basic right to live (98 Important Facts about Animal Cruelty).Older chickens that are unneeded are buried or gassed alive(98 Important Facts about Animal Cruelty). Don’t animal lives matter?Animal cruelty the horrible inhumane activity goes on everywhere. It takes the lives of innocent animals, whose right to live was taken simply just to make designer fur coats, This is because we think animal lives don’t matter, so we can kill them. We think that we don’t have enough space or, these animals are overabundant, instead of finding different ways out of the problem (Infobase Learning). Also, luxury items that use animals are unneeded (98 Important Facts about Animal Cruelty). We don’t need these items to survive, we are only wasting the lives of poor animals (98 Important Facts about Animal Cruelty).Even extravagant food are also sometimes animal cruelty. For example Foie Gras ,fatty duck liver tortures the animal before the liver is retrieved. First a metal tube filled with cornmeal is shoved down it’s throat to fatten its liver and also since females livers are small they are usually just thrown away. Then they slaughter them but most don’t make it because they have been overfed. This why animal cruelty is immoral and should be After all they are just animals what feelings do they really have. What this argument falls to recognize though is that animals lives are just as valuable and precious as we regard our own. Animals don’t deserve to be abused, hurt, killed or punished when they have done nothing to harm or be in our way. They don’t deserve to suffer just because we think it is ok to torture them. This is why animal cruelty should be ended and be stopped before it gets way to out of control we do not no how to stop it anymore. In conclusion, the cruelty of our fellow animal friends should be put an end to immediately. This because animal cruelty endangers the lives of animals. It is also cruel and immoral towards animals. Lastly it doesn't give animal lives the respect they deserve. Everyone one in this earth I know for sure would like to live and value their lives pretty highly. Don’t you animals would like to live a life like that
Animal cruelty is a rapidly growing nationwide problem. Animals are being battered and starved everyday. There are many forms of animal cruelty; some forms are scientific research, abandonment, and mistreatment.
Have you ever seen a stray animal on the side of the road and thought nothing of it? It is actions like that and others that continue to make this planet a cruel place for domestic animals to live. Many domestic animals are not created to destroy or harm anyone or anything. They are meant to be surrounded by loving caring humans who want to have a mutually beneficial relationship better them. Sadly, these animals are taken into shelters or pounds and if not claimed or adopted they are euthanized or become test subjects. According to PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, “each year, more than 100 million animals are killed in U.S. laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical,
We brutally inflict pain upon the animals, not exclusively in the final moments as they are being slaughtered, but for the most part, during their entire life. Many animals know nothing other than a life in a dark, crowded barn or factory treated as meat before they are even killed. These terrible conditions blatantly show that we do not care about these animals and we simply rear and kill them in order to satisfy our trivial interests. The cruelty imposed upon these helpless animals is shocking and it is not rare for people to turn a blind eye to the brutality. Another commonplace would be for a meat consumer to say that humans are “ends in themselves, while everything other than a person can only have value for a person” (C. Vlastos). People believe that animals are on this earth simply for human consumption, which can be easily
Every person in this world should accept the fact that animals are living beings just like us. Additionally, every person should accept that animals are not ours to experiment on, to torture or kill them for our own purpose. It is a well-known fact that they are intelligent creatures and most important – they do have the ability to think, to feel anger and happiness, they want to make friends and to have life partners. Can you imagine the pain they feel when they are separated one from another or when they are simply excluded from the freedom to live only to die for cosmetics? Therefore, if we are against keeping people in captivity against their will, torturing them, doing cruel experiments on them and causing them to suffer and bleed to death then we should also be against animal testing. Consequently, if it is immoral and unethical to torture, do harm or kill a person then it should be immoral and unethical to do the same to these innocent living creatures
Ascione’s (1993) definition of animal cruelty is defined as “socially unacceptable behavior that intentionally causes unnecessary pain, suffering, or distress to and/or death of an animal” exclusive of socially condoned behavior, such as legal hunting and certain agricultural and veterinary practices. Not all violent individuals have been previously cruel to animals but studies have shown that a great number of them have exhibited this behavior. A great majority of the literature calls for a better understandin...
Every year over 100 million animals die in the US; the cause for these deaths, animal testing. This injustice to animals involves testing products such as medical drugs or makeup, on poor imprisoned animals that don’t have the ability to stand for their own rights as most of us do. Animals used for testing are given products that may result in burning, poisoning, or death. These animals are forced to live in confined spaces where they wait until the next horrible experiment. They are, tortured beyond imagination as they are sometimes even cut open while they are alive (know as vivisection), either with expired analgesics or even without them.
Every year, over 100 million animals are killed for experimentation, biology lessons, medical/military training, and cosmetic, drug, and chemical testing. Animals are tortured all over the world and still lack lawful protection.
Animals and humans are very different, but one thing we have in common is the fact that we can both feel emotions and comprehend the world in a different perspective. Professor Peter Singer says, “The fundamental issue in determining how we may treat animals is whether they suffer and that the pains of animals and humans deserve equal considerations.” Vertebrates, also know as animals with a backbone, have the same nerves that humans have to feel pain. We have a moral obligation to animals to protect their rights as creatures of this earth and members of our modern day society. Animals have a life full of love and contentment, by torturing them we are denying them that right.
Animal cruelty is a major world issue that needs to come to an end. Every day an animal loses its life due to cruel deeds performed by wicked people. Approximately one billion animals are being murdered annually for selfish purposes. There are various forms of animal cruelty, but the most common form of animal cruelty tends to be apparel use. Many brands use genetically-modified animals to
“There can be many reason for animal cruelty, like any other form of violence, is often committed by a person who feels powerless, unnoticed, or under control of others. Some who are cruel to animals copy acts what they have seen or that have been done to them, others see harming an animal as a safe way to get revenge against--or threaten-- someone who cares about that animal”. (“Animal… Statistics”) Concerns towards abusing animals have gone up in the past. Although there are not many cases on animal abuse, many have occurred. Abusers are charged with Criminal Animal Abuse and then sentenced to life in prison. Some animals that are physically abused are sometimes rescued by Animal Control, and are taken it to an animal shelter. However, many shelters have not had the space to keep the animals so the workers would have to put them down (Carol Roach). Researchers have shown that the main animals getting abused are dogs, chickens, horses, and livestock (“Animal...
The ugly truth is that animals are dying at the hands of their owners everyday, some in very violent ways that can be avoided given the right solution. Slaughterhouses, puppy mills, dog fighting, and so on, are just a few examples of how animals are being treated badly by people. Animal cruelty is a form of violence which, unfortunately, sometimes goes hand in hand with child abuse.... ... middle of paper ... ... Also, violence towards animals needs to be included in assessments for child protective services, in order to better prevent animals being placed in dangerous hands.
The abuse that animals endure at human hands is heartbreaking, sickening, and infuriating. Animals are just as delicate as humans, so why not abuse us too? Animal lives should be just important as ours. No animals should be killed or abused for testing, entertaining, clothing, or hoarding. Every year, millions of animals are being killed and torture for testing.
I believe that using animals for food is the only reason for killing animals. They are the best. Some people may argue that meat is not needed in a balanced diet and alternatives to vegetables, fruits, pulses and dairy produce. can be consumed for protein instead, but we have canine teeth. We are suited to eating meat like other carnivorous and omnivorous predators.
Animals DO have feelings. They may not be able to talk and tell us where it hurts, but they do feel pain, just like humans. There are laws to protect animals, just like humans. I do not feel as though the laws are strong enough, nor are they enforced the way they should.
The main issue that seems to arise here is that moral “rules” that an act is good or bad based on its naturalness, are bent to suit the convenience and desires of humanity, which again is morally inconsistent. Additionally, arguments in support of meat eating because “animals do it” are unreliable. Carnivorous and omnivorous consume other animals out of necessity in most cases, and yes there are some arguments that support meat eating for nutritional reasons, but the excessive quantity of meat produced and furthermore the amount wasted cannot compare to the
