Well, there is no way to stop this from happening, just like there is no way to stop world hunger, but we can try and prevent it from happening and help people become more aware of what is going on around them. Animal abuse is currently happening everywhere in this world, and this can only stop if everyone acknowledges and stands up for what is right. However, the cause of animal abuse can lead to so many questions asked in our society through the secondary data analysis that the questions will then be answered. In fact, conflict theory will be the one applied to the abuse of animals. Lastly, a hypothetical mean of collecting primary data on animal abuse can then be answered. To put it briefly, this research paper is focusing on why family professionals can no longer ignore violence towards animals, the feminism and treatment of animals, and animal liberation and rights, to examine the causes that lead to animal abuse when animal abuse is being announced.
“There can be many reason for animal cruelty, like any other form of violence, is often committed by a person who feels powerless, unnoticed, or under control of others. Some who are cruel to animals copy acts what they have seen or that have been done to them, others see harming an animal as a safe way to get revenge against--or threaten-- someone who cares about that animal”. (“Animal… Statistics”) Concerns towards abusing animals have gone up in the past. Although there are not many cases on animal abuse, many have occurred. However, many shelters have not had the space to keep the animals so the workers would have to put them down (Carol Roach). The abuse that animals endure at human hands is heartbreaking, sickening, and infuriating. Animals are just as delicate as humans, so why not abuse us too? Animal lives should be just important as ours. No animals should be killed or abused for testing, entertaining, clothing, or hoarding. Every year, millions of animals are being killed and torture for testing.
Animal abuse is cruel and inhumane. Many people think of animal abuse is only beating animals and hurting them, but there is other ways to be cruel to an animal. Animal cruelty is not only animal abuse, but also neglect. Ignoring, not taking proper care of, and ditching on the side of the road and leaving animals to die are all common forms of neglect.
Animal abuse is a travesty in our world that must be stopped. Every year, millions of animals suffer because of human actions, directly or indirectly. Whether it’s abused dogs and cats or even mistreated circus animals, their suffering is as real as it would be if it happened to us. Even animals who are raised on farms simply for human consumption should not have to suffer. One of the worst parts of humanity’s role in animal abuse is that there are easy ways for people to help that they are either ignorant of or simply refuse to do. There are many examples of animals who are abused by humans, but there are also ways for people to help prevent and put an end to animal abuse.
Before my mother immigrated to America she lived on a cramped farm in Michoacan, Mexico. There, her family owned chickens, goats, and a couple of cows. These farm animals were not there as pets, not as friends to play with, but as food for the entire family of 8. Being at the age of 6, she did not understand that her favorite cow would someday be on her dinner plate sitting next to mayo smothered corn. So as a blissfully ignorant child, she became friends with one of the cows. She named her “girasol”, meaning sunflower, because she was the only animal on the farm that lied out in the sun while the others rested in the cool shade under the trees. Every morning she would wake up with a childish grin and help her dad feed and groom the animals.
There is a strong link between violent criminal behavior and animal abuse. According to Childhood Animal Abuse and Violent Criminal Behavior: A Brief Review of the Literature, “The connection between cruelty to animals in childhood/early adolescence and adult violent criminal behavior has been a topic of interest for decades. Formal research on this matter began as early as the 1960s with Mead’s 1964 bulletin article including her theory “that childhood animal cruelty was symptomatic of a violent personality that, if not diagnosed and targeted, could lead to ‘a long career of episodic violence and murder’.” ... Although there are opposing studies out there, a growing body of research does indicate people who commit acts of cruelty towards animals rarely stop there… “child protection and social service agencies, mental health professionals, and educators regard animal abuse as a significant form of aggressive and antisocial behavior to the point that it is considered an important red flag in the identification of

Many people who abuse animals do not realize that they are actually hurting animals, this is known as unintentional. When some people try to discipline their pets they use tactics that they think is acceptable, when in reality is probably not the best way. People also abuse animals due to lack of attention, such as forgetting to feed and water the animals for a number of days. A family may take the animals with them when they leave the house, and forget to leave a window down with the animal inside. One of the biggest unintentional ways of animal cruelty is a way that many people think is helpful but is actually has a negative impact on all of the animals involved, this idea is trying to take in more animals than one can handle, they have good intentions but this is harmful to animals because it forces them to live in unhealthy conditions. There are many new cases of animal hoarding every year, with over 250,000 animals falling victim. Puppy mills are large dog breeding’s that care more about making money than the wellbeing and health of the animals. Many dogs become ill with diseases such as kidney or heart disease as a result of the conditions in which they live.
A lot of people advocate against the abuse of domestic animals such as dogs and cats. However, not enough people take the time to actually be aware of the cruelty many farm animals experience constantly. I want to talk about farm animal welfare and why it’s extremely important. I will talk about why animal welfare is good for the environment, why animal mistreatment damages brand reputation, and that customers are actually concerned over this.
