Towering at almost 1000 meters and at a plunge of 807 meters, Angel Falls lies at the edge of the Auyan Tepui mountain nested deep within Venezuela’s natural beauty, Canaima National Park. Angel Falls’s elevation is so high up that the falling water evaporates before it hits the ground, turning into mist. It is estimated that it is 15 times the height of the great Niagara Falls and has a base of 500 feet wide. “It was sighted by explorer Ernesto Sánchez La Cruz, but he did not publicize his discovery.” (wiki) It wasn’t “discovered” by the west until it was visited in 1935 by American aviator, James Crawford Angel, on a flight while looking for ore bed; even though the indigenous Pemón people already inhabited the area. He landed his plane a few years later after but it got stuck and had to walk down the mountain with his family. The falls was named after Angel yet the indigenous people had already named the waterfall as the “Devil’s Mouth”.

What does a man do when the canyon that he so dearly loves is transformed into an unrecognizable monstrosity at the hands of others that have no affinity to the area they have destroyed? Some may bemoan the destruction, yet lament that what’s done is done and move on. Others may voice their concerns with the unsightliness they see. However, rarely does one voice their views in such a poignant and direct way as to grab the attention of the reader and powerfully force the writer’s views into the mind of the reader. The essay “The Damnation of a Canyon” by Edward Abbey is a revealing look into the mind of an environmental activist and his dissatisfaction with man’s detrimental impacts on the environment and the natural world. Edward Abbey is acclaimed
There are many elements of fiction. All of them together are a recipe for the perfect story. There are five elements all together. They are conflict, setting, character, plot and theme. “The Grim Grotto” displays all of these elements with an exceptionally well written storyline.
Not many people know of the used-to-be 150-mile excursion that the Glen Canyon had to offer. Not many people know how to sail a raft down a river for a week. Not many people know how to interact with nature and the animals that come with it. We seem to come from a world that is dependent on time and consumed in money. Edward Abbey is what you would call an extreme environmentalist. He talks about how it was an environmental disaster to place a dam in which to create Lake Powell, a reservoir formed on the border of Utah and Arizona. He is one of the few that have actually seen the way Glen Canyon was before they changed it into a reservoir. Today, that lake is used by over a million people, and is one of the biggest recreation hot spots in the western United States.
The El Yunque Forest Reserve is an extravagant area also known as Luquillo National Forest. It is filled with many different organisms, some being rare, and some being things you see almost everyday! Not to mention that it is the only tropical rain forest in the United States National Forest System.

When the Portuguese landed in Brazil 500 years ago the sight that greeted them was of a huge rain forest, which then ran along much of Brazil’s Atlantic coast. In more recent times, there has been an outcry over the destruction of the much larger Amazon forest. But its devastation is nothing compared to Brazil’s Atlantic forest. About 86% of Brazil’s Amazon forest is still intact but only about 7% of the Atlantic forest remains. In this paper, I will explain why the Atlantic forest was destroyed, why deforestation happens, and the effects of rain forest destruction and the effect it is having on the Earth.
First, the research pointed out that Venezuela is a very diverse country with its landforms, climate and more! With the Andes Mountains, Angel Falls (largest waterfall in the world), parts of the Amazon Rainforest, Lake Maracaibo (Largest lake in South America), and Guiana Highlands. With over 10,000 rivers covers about one-third of the country. This shows that Venezuela is so different. Although Venezuela is a tropical area its local climates vary with altitude from humid and hot lowlands to cool highlands. With average temperature being around 73.9 degrees and rainfall being about 76.3 mm a year. This country is a very amazing place.

In Canto X, Dante enters the sixth circle of Hell that contains the Heretics in which he learns about his past, better understands his moral values, and learns lessons about life. The punishment for the Heretics is they are condemned to eternity in flaming tombs. Virgil tells Dante that the tombs these souls suffer in will be opened until Judgment Day. He explains that everyone here is a follower of Epicurus who claimed that the soul dies with the body. While Dante is traveling through this circle, he asks if he can see any one of the entombed sinners. Dante continues through his journey here and meets a few different souls from the tombs.

Conversion of the tropical forest into cropland and pasture began a long time ago in Ecuador, before their secession from Spain. Their major crop was cocoa, which was grown along the waterways to be exported out as their main source of trade. Due to the fact that after World War II expansion accelerated throughout the northwestern section of the forest, a highway system was put into construction. At this point in time, the Ecuadorian Amazon consisted of a few small towns that had been established in valleys and at the base of the mountains. Indigenous g...

The Fallen Angels in Paradise Lost The fallen angels are Satan's minions and the voices by which Milton may express a variety of opinions and views, showing the diversity. and the intricacies of Hell, and the immorality of their actions and proposals. Whilst we are often impressed by the skill with which the individual leaders perform their tasks and speeches, we are never left in any doubt as to the truth of G-d, and the futility of their debates. By examining the angels as a group, Milton is able to leave the infernal dungeon, to take a flight throughout history, giving his own point of view.
