All of Me shows a great deal of love, this song shows many positive ideas about love. The ideas about love that All of Me portrays is that the performer John Legend loves this woman with a passion, even with all of her flaws. In the song the aspect of love is being shown when he says, “Love your curves and all your edges / All your perfect imperfections.” It is also being portrayed in this song by him loving this woman so much that when she drives him crazy and when they fight he takes it, because he is not just looking for the good in a relationship. This aspect of love is shown when he says, “What would I do without your smart mouth? Drawing me in, and you kicking me out / You’ve got my head spinning, no kidding, I can’t pin you down / What’s …show more content…
The gospel “A Woman Washes Jesus’ Feet,” exemplifies agape love which is what I feel All of Me shows. Agape love is about unconditional love and accepting everything and all from the one you love, this is the highest form of love and that is what All of Me shows and the gospel. The reason why I think that this gospel works for agape love is because this woman who everyone thinks is a sinner and a bad person came to Jesus and washed his feet with her tears, dried his feet with her hair, and poured perfume on his feet. In the bible is states, “When the Pharisee who asked Jesus to come to his house saw this, he thought to himself, “If Jesus were a prophet, he would know that the woman touching him is a sinner! Jesus turned towards the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman?” When I came into your house, you gave me know no water for my feet, but she washed my feet with her tears and dried them with her hair. You gave me no kiss of greeting, but she has been kissing my feet since I came in. You did not put oil on my head, but she poured perfume on my feet. I tell you that her many sins are forgiven, so she shown great love. Jesus said to the woman, “because you believed, you are saved from your sins. Go in peace.” The song reflects the love described in the gospel by John Legend showing unconditional love and by him not caring about the sins that she has
Florida Georgia Line consists of two country singers, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard. Ever since the two met at college, their careers have taken off. Florida Georgia Line is well known for its hit, “Cruise” which has had over one million downloads sold and topped both country radio charts. Due to this success, a remix was created with Nelly. Feeling unwanted from the closest people in your life who turn away from you when you need them the most, is the worst feeling a person can endure. I chose the song “My Story” by Sean McGee, because people young and old can relate to his song. People from different backgrounds can relate to each other when there are living homeless or raised as a foster child. Sean McGee wrote “my daddy don’t know, my momma don’t care, it don’t matter if I’m here, it don’t matter if I’m dead” people all around the world have the same issues and share a common culture. A master status is the most important status a person occupies, this is a key factor in determining a person’s social position.
My first song I´ve chosen is Sean McGee, song titled My Story. Mainly the song is about him facing different struggles, obstacles, and all the horrible things and situations he´s been in throughout his life. I can connect to this song and the lyrics for many reasons. One of his lines were ¨Do you know how it feels to be left out in the rain¨? And I have faced times like this when I feel like no one is there or have my back, and in the line he´s trying express how it feels to have nobody and be all alone. Also throughout this song he expresses how everyday you wake up your face with something rather it's just a minor issue or something that will greatly impact your life.
The song “Most People are Good” by Luke Bryan, describes a theme of hope and seizing the day. This song is clearly directed to an adult audience for it could not be relatable to a younger crowd. The song offers words of wisdom and a recollection of youthful times gone by. The song is told in the first person and portrayed by an ageing man or woman who is expressing their beliefs and personal morals through their experience of youth and forgiveness. The hopeful lyrics are informal but provide bright ideas expressed with a buoyant attitude.
American Beauty/American Psycho was an album that was sung by the band Fall Out Boy in 2015. Fall Out Boy is an alternative/indie rock band with a little hint of pop in some of their songs. This album, which is the band’s most recent album, is full of a lot of good songs and songs that maybe some people wouldn’t like. Fall Out Boy is a face-paced band, which means their songs are faced-paced. A lot of their songs could be a little hard to understand for people who don’t listen to this kind of music. The album does not have many of these types of songs, which is why it is a favorite among Fall Out Boy fans.
“Over There” is a song written by George M. Cohan in 1917. Nora Bayes, Enrico Caruso, Billy Murray, Arthur Fields, and Charles King were among many who recorded the song. It was written as a propaganda piece encouraging young American men to join the army to fight in World War I. The song was incredibly popular, selling over two million copies of sheet music and one million copies of recordings by the end of the war. Cohan, the writer, was eventually even awarded a Congressional Medal of Honor for his work on this song.
The song writes in the first person. It start with brought out one of the faith, his lover. Then he said “I should've worshipped her sooner”. Instead of using “liked” or “loved”, he use the powerful word “worshipped”, which shows the relationship between the singer and his lover is like a faithful follower and the God. So the two kinds of faith should be clear. One is faith to organized religions, such as Christianity; while the other is faith to his lover. He says “We've a lot of starving faithful”, which could means many people that are religious and have faith, but never get anything in return, or the singer had a lot of sex with his lover. The singer establishes his credibility because he is sharing from what he has witnessed in his own experience. He make the audience believe that he has been through all the story he
Somewhere between rock and roll and the psychedelic seventies is a time of protests, riots and war. From this turbulent time in history, Stephen Stills penned a rhythmic tune which would become an anthem for protests, “For What It’s Worth.” As a member of the group known as Buffalo Springfield, Stills was a talented musician and song writer. The song was written during a time of civil rights protests and the Viet Nam war. Contrary to popular thought, the song was not written to protest the Viet Nam war or the deaths on the Kent State campus, however it was written and recorded to shed light on the Sunset Strip riots in Los Angeles. When Pandora’s Box, a club on the strip for teens, was closed in November 1966, the protests started and lasted
The song “Strangers in the Night” was composed by Bert Kaempfert and lyrics by Charles
I decided to expand on my Week 5 Post All About That Bass. Our assignment for that week was to analyze Meghan Trainor’s song All About That Bass and to give our opinion on what message we believe the song lyrics and video provided the public with. The second part of our assignment also involved watching “It’s Not About the Nail” and the Dave Barry article that addressed stereotypes about gender and what affect they might have on individuals.
The apostle John declared: “God is love.” In the Koine Greek, Agape love is that not only that love is from God, but that it is of God. God Himself loves. Love is one of the moral attributes of God Agape love is self-sacrificing. The LORD Almighty loved the world so much that He sent His only son, to death; death on a cross. .
“Had me at Hello” by Olivia Holt: This song pairs well with Act 1 Scene 5, the scene where Romeo walks into the Capulet's’ party looking for Rosaline but he spots Juliet and instantly falls in love with her. The verse “you don’t have to try to hard, you already have my heart, you don’t got a thing to prove, i’m already into you” relates to when Romeo then went up and talked to Juliet and is instantly in love with Romeo. When Juliet says “for saints have hands that pilgrims hands do touch, and palm to palm is holy palmers kiss” she is basically encouraging Romeo to make the first move and kiss her, that proves that Juliet already has fallen in love with him. The verse “Hold, hold, hold, hold me tight now, cause i'm so, so good to go, don’t say,
The billboard U.S ranking rank in 1987 the song “Forever And Ever, Amen” by Randy Travis as peak position number one in the category of country singles, and in 2009 the song “Best I Ever Had” by Drake as the number one in category of hot hip-hop songs. ” Forever And Ever, Amen” (Randy), the singer sang about a girl for whom he has a great affection, while in “Best I Ever Had” (Drake), Drake sang and complemented his girl whom he want back. Although the songs “Forever And Ever, Amen” by Randy and “Best I Ever Had” by Drake both talk about love and where very popular in different era, they have many differences in the ways they express their message, how their music sound,
The song that I choose to do this assignment on is Fight the Power by Public Enemy. Fight the Power was written in 1989 and quickly became a street anthem for millions of youths. It reflects with issues dealing with both the Civil Rights Movement and to remind everyone that they too have Constitutional Rights. This particular song is about empowerment but also fighting the abuse of power that is given to the law enforcement agencies. It gave citizens of the U.S a more modern outlook on the many struggles that not only the African American community is up against but the other minority groups as well. The song’s message was eventually supposed to bring people together and make the world a better place, even though some teens saw it as a way
Love is one of the most important elements in Christianity. Although there are many different definitions of the word love, people use the word to mean a strong desire or liking, romance, benevolence, giving, or even sexual intercourse. In Christianity, the word love includes serving the welfare of others. Such love is often called an agape love. Some people often recognize it as “Christian love.” Agape love, in the Greek language, means to act consciously and to choose to love someone without expecting anything in return from them, even though the result of the action may bring inconvenience, discomfort, or even death to the giver (Love Feast (Agape), n.d.). In other words, agape love is also a sacrificial love. This love is not an emotional or impetuous love but rather a more purposeful love. This kind of love is the kind Jesus referred to in Matthew 22:39, and it is the kind he wants us to apply to our daily life by loving others.
