This documentary The Medici, Godfathers of the Renaissance was between 1300 and 1600, where the Western world dramatically changed. It was “The Renaissance” also known as “rebirth” of Europe-Roman classical. In the city of Florence, the Medici family would rise to rule the Europe in many ways. They impacted religion, art, politics, science and architecture over the time the cultural changed.
The Birth of a Dynasty, where a continent was torn apart by war, plagues and dominated by Catholic Church. The town/cities, where the merchants and entrepreneurs sensed their world was changing. He bribes his way out of jail and Medici are banished and Albizzi triumph and the work on the dome is stopped. Business in Florence isn’t doing well with the Albizzi family in charged. The Pope secures Cosimo return to Florence and gets his positions as unofficial leader. Cosimo used art to gain power and created art market. A taste for art and an eye for talent, Cosimo had the finest craftsmen of his age. He had magnificent work from Donatello, Lippi, Michelozzo and Gozzoli.
