Essay analysis, Written (600 words) “A Hanging” By George Orwell

Nobody could look down others life; we must against the capital punishment which was anti-man and formal human nature. This is what the author wants to convey us thought this easy ‘a hanging’. From 1922 to 1927, the journalist and novelist George Orwell served in Burma as a member of Indian imperial police. Under that situation he wrote this essay. Britain administered Burma as an Indian province until 1937. Some local people and the invaders combine together to oppression the weak people. The prisoner in the essay was puny, wisp with vague liquid eyes. From this we could see that the prisoner’s life in the cell was pretty hard. A person who has such puny appearance was the invaders like to oppression. Such a weak man had held by six tall Indian warders, and their hands are all on him carefully. In contrast the prisoner showed us with easy feeling. Death in his mind was not a big deal. There had a turning point ----the puddle. When the prisoner met the puddle he avoids it like a normal person this is the human nature. Before this the author thought the prisoner was numb. However at this time he observed that this is a real man. He has his mind and behavior. He has no different with others, so we have no reason to treat him like this. This situation not only made us ponders but also shows us the author’s purpose. When the hangman climbed down and stood ready he repeat the ram over and over again with calm and rhythm .the author compare his voice as the church bell. This contrast the invaders
